Located amid an intimate collection of exclusive vacation rentals, the 445-square-foot Santa Rosa suite is in a semi-private wing on the second floor of the historic Hitchcock House. Stroll just one block to the famed East Beach. Or, ride bikes to downtown and Sterns Wharf.

Kick back in front of the decorative electric fireplace and watch a movie on a 32' TV. Enjoy morning coffee at the coffee table. The suite also includes a desk, a mini refrigerator and freezer, a microwave, and a coffee maker. After a fun-filled day at the beach, enjoy an afternoon cookout on the shared patio, complete with a gas grill and ample table seating, as well as several benches and lounge chairs.

Your vacation rental is less than one mile from the Santa Barbara Zoo, which features 500 animals over 30 acres. Ride the Zoo Train, feed the giraffes, see live stage shows, and take a behind-the-scenes tour. Walk or pedal along the beach path 1.4 miles to Stearns Wharf, one of Santa Barbara's most popular attractions. Ride the Water Taxi, visit the Sea Center, browse the specialty shops, and dine while enjoying the best views in town! Tour the Urban Wine Trail to taste some of the finest wines produced in Santa Barbara County. It can be navigated on foot or by shuttle.

Things to Know
This vacation rental has two codes to access the property. The first is a gate code that provides entry through the communal door to reach the second floor, and the second is a 10-digit code to access the home.
This is an old, turn-of-the-century home, and noise may be heard from adjacent units.
This home is located near the train tracks (all Santa Barbara beachfront property shares this feature) and the 101 freeway. Earplugs are provided for those sensitive to noise while sleeping.
Although this unit is not equipped with air conditioning, it is rarely needed with the mild summer temperatures at the beach. A ceiling fan ensures a pleasant breeze.
This unit is on the second floor. Elevators are not available.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle.

Had a wonderful stay in Santa Barbara at the Santa Rosa room. The walk to and from the funk zone was a perfect amount of exercise for the day to return back to the room on the quiet street of Corona Del Mar. I would definitely come and stay again.

Great space for a small weekend

The space was perfect for a short weekend stay. It has close access to the beach while staying off the main road. The space was very clean and easily accessible, and had plenty of room for myself and a friend for the weekend.

Wonderful getaway at the Santa Rosa Suite. One block from the beach, free parking and close to restaurants near the wharf. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location, cute place

Had a wonderful time here. The location was ideal, just a couple blocks from the beach. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed. There were some little fruit flies hanging around the bonus room sink, but very clean otherwise. Would highly recommend 👍

This studio is cute, clean & comfy. Close to the beach. My only complaint was we didn’t have enough towels for our stay. But when I brought up my concern it was quickly fixed.

Great location and adorable apartment

This cute little apartment was a two minute jog to the beach and one minute drive to the zoo. I stayed with three young kids. It was quiet (except for an occasional train which the kids thought was cool!) The beds were comfy and the overhead fan and heater kept us just the right temperature. It would be nice to have had a full set of silverware for four people but other than that, we had no complaints about this super cozy apartment. Thank you for a wonderful visit to SB!

Overall it was a really good stay and the location was great. Nice street within walking distance to the beach and many great restaurants. It was a beautiful unit but we had a couple mild complaints:1. Curtains are quite thin and did not block light out at all. Being there in June, our kids got a lot less sleep than normal as a result.2. Both rugs needed a deep cleaning - both felt a little crusty...3. Toilet was clogged and no plunger present. Took the host company most of the day to get a plunger over4. The shower drain was quite slow

Just perfect

I received communication indicating check-in, parking and everything else we needed to know daily and during our stay. We had an issue with bedding, however it was sorted out immediately. Parking was easy and convenient. The location is great. A 4 min walk to local groceries and 6 min walk to the beach!!! The room was airy and very clean. There was no ac, which is typical for Santa Barbara, but they had fans in the closet for use. The other rooms were occupied, but never had an issue with noise. Highly recommend.

Old condo near beach

It is very close to beach, a 5 mins walk. There are few eateries within 10 mins drive but wouldn’t call it a great location as it is surrounded by low cost motels and godowns. We were fine with it because it was just a sleep over for two nights during our drive to Coronado from palo algo. The bathroom tells the story of how old this place is. It hasn’t seen any upgrade in the longest time. I wouldn’t stay here if I was on vacation in Santa Barbara .

Could Have Been Better

Rental said it slept 4. The twin bed was broken and wobbly, and the trundle was super uncomfortable...springs in the back😒. There were only 2 wash clothes & 2 hand towels. Not really anywhere to sit to eat accept one small desk??? A 2 top table for eating would have been good. Also not much usable surfaces for setting toiletries on, or preparing food. There was NO communication through the app 🤔. I will NOT recommend this place to people.

Cold, old house.

Leaking cold faucet in the bathroom; the tub turn on valve is VERRRY difficult to turn. Feels like it is breaking to get it to turn. We called the management office the night of arrival to complain about the temperature of the room (was on the cold side). We were told that a "local person" would call up back - never did - and that the local person would provide us with a space heater - which they never did. I had to find and purchase a space heater for the duration of the stay.

The property is not well maintained. There was mold in the bathroom, peeling paint and the furnishings were not particularly comfortable. The home's exterior was neglected, too.

A great place to stay

My 20 year old daughter and I had a great time staying here. It was perfect for us with the second bed in the alcove. The space was very clean and comfortable. It was a short walk to the beach. I appreciated the parking in back. I had read there was no AC so that wasn’t a surprise. We opened the windows in the evening to cool the room off. I would stay here again.

Heaven in Santa Barbara

I stayed in the Santa Rosa suite. PERFECTION. All the windows open to a beautiful breeze. Comfy bed with fluffy comforter. Day bed was comfy and had a roll away twin underneath as well. Large room acts as two rooms. Quaint and quiet. Don't miss this one. I walked to a taco truck on Milpass which was excellent. Eller's Donuts, further east on Milpass was wonderful. Easy walk to the harbor. Lots of restaurants around. I noticed there was no air conditioning so I brought two of my own fans and found two fans in the closet along with a dish heater for the winter. Small ironing board with Iron too. I had no problems with the tv or internet. Good shower pressure. Jacuzzi tub in the room but I did not use it. One small bad of coffee is presented for the coffee maker so if you don't want to walk out for coffee, bring your own. A microwave and small fridge are available as well. This is where I will stay on my return trips. My daughter just graduated from UCSB and I usually stayed at Hilton Garden Inn in Goleta which is very nice and convenient but for visiting her but this place was more relaxing for me. Goleta is 15-20 minutes away up the freeway.

Great neighborhood and a super cool property. Just a quick walk to the beach and conveniently located to State Street (longer walk or short Uber) for dinner and drinks.

Santa Rosa Room not East Beach Room

Great location and access to the beach. Overall, facility was charming. Many things needed attention. Phone process to get assistance is long, repetitive, frustrating and annoying. Written instructions are needed for use of TV ...i.e. did not come on, spent 45 mins unsuccessfully on phone; info on how to set to correct HDMI setting is needed. Remote worked except for on/off button; had to do from side of tv. Wifi was out for a day, but manager was able to restore. Thought jets in tub not working, but button is very hard to press. Need dowel to press deep and hard enough. Only 3 of 8 window open so can't get much of a cross breeze, but fans are available. We rented for two but only towels for one were there. Had to go through phone process to get more towels. Toaster only toasted on one side of bread so had to toast ea slice twice. We would recommend with caveat about long, not local phone process for getting assistance and if these items we've identified have been remedied. The train sounds did not bother us at all and do not run at night.
