The natural scenery and wildlife surrounding the home is a real highlight, and you'll often see bighorn sheep coming down off the mountain to graze on the golf course. While the location feels tucked away, you're only a 10-minute drive from Old Town La Quinta.

The property offers spacious living and dining areas for entertaining and social time, and a separate guest casita houses an extra-private bedroom.

LIVING AREA

Bright artwork and comfy furnishings feature in the open living space with wood floors. An oversized armchair and sofa offer seating for 10, and a 72in TV lets you enjoy movies in style.

Wonderful location and wonderful home
Originally, I was nervous reading prior reviews about the home. Upon arriving, everything was spotless and easy to use. We had no problems getting in and out. I’d say the front door lock can be a little tough to lock from both sides but we managed. Highly recommend.

Amenities and basics not as expected
Three electrical outlets on the counter of the master bathroom did not work. The oven door was locked so we could not cook the food we had bought. There were no tissue boxes in any of the bathrooms. The pool and hot tub right next to the house was disgustingly dirty with tons of leaves and sand.

Disappointing stay
Three couples stayed here for a long weekend. All of us own vacation rental properties so we are well-versed in hosting guests. This property rates as poor. It seemed to us the owners have made little effort to improve and maintain the home. Likewise, the management company seemed uninformed and disinterested and likely never even visited the home to make sure things are well-maintained. Many of the negatives are easily corrected with some effort and investment, but for now it's not happening. Positives: Great location is the heart of PGA West (but be aware you are situated directly behind the practice range with noise early mornings) and a community pool/spa immediately next door; floor plan is spacious and provides plenty of privacy for sleeping but also large gathering places. Negatives: a). Not clean, in fact, the carpet in two bedrooms is ancient with many disgusting stains, floors overall were dirty especially near windows or entry points, cabinets in kitchen were sticky/stained and clearly not wiped down; we found plenty of hairs in several bathrooms; b). The house smelled of Raid upon arrival and despite opening the windows, we couldn't get rid of it; c). Key amenities missing--there was only one hairdryer which we had to share, towels were so old they felt like sandpaper, no starter laundry soap or coffee pods, etc; d). Communication with the property management company was poor, and several emails/texts were simply unanswered. They told us there would be no access to the garage, yet there was a remote opener on the counter and ample space for two of our vehicles. A ridiculous irritant was the 10 digit door code which is impossible to memorize, thus everyone had to revert to searching for it in their emails throughout the stay (and by the way, the door lock is ancient and did not seem secure). None of us would recommend this property until the owners make some additional investments, the property management company pays more attention, and the cleaning crew is re-trained or better fired.
