Michael was an excellent host. Parking could be a little sketchy.Steps going down to apartment were steep and no hand railing which made it difficult on two seniors with artificial hips.

Nice, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed walking our dogs in the nearby park. Parking right out front was great. Easy access to Wrigley and downtown.

This is such a wonderful place!

My husband's cousin and I wanted to book a weekend in Chicago to visit the Art Institute, but being older, mature women (AKA seniors), we didn't want the "hot night life" that Chicago can offer. This apartment was perfect for us! It's located in a quiet, residential neighborhood that was just a minute from Addison Street with easy access to the expressways. We got to the Art Institute downtown in barely more than 20 minutes! The place was very clean and well supplied. The appliances were virtually new (I wanted to take the stove home with me!). The beds were both king size and comfortable. The lounging area had an all but new sleeper sofa (which we only used as a sofa) and an enormous streaming TV. I would highly recommend this place with the only caveat being that there are stairs to navigate to get into it, so if you have mobility issues and difficulty with stairs, think carefully. Everything else was perfect!

Spotty WiFi

The property itself was fine for a basement apartment. My dogs heard every noise from the upstairs neighbors and barked the entire week. While staying here I also needed to get some work done but the WiFi kept disconnecting.....same with the TV internet connection. I will be looking for something different next time.

Let’s talk about it

So let’s start with the good-great location -parking on the street but could always find parking in front of the house-the landlord always reply back quickly-House was very clean and stockedNow to the bad-You could literally hear everything going on upstairs. You’re basically paying a lot of money to stay in someone’s basement.-If you’re trying to sleep at night, you will hear footsteps and dog footsteps all night-Pretty sure that the air conditioner in the living room is broke we turned on all the vents so we could get some heat from upstairs but it was cold during the day and hot at night-there are stairs to get down into the basement so not very handicap accessible-laundry is shared so you have to lock your door back to the laundry room, but somebody has to be on the other side of it to push it so you can lock it. -I left a day early because I just couldn’t sleep with everything going on upstairs and the air conditioning and heat problem

Cozy and quiet

We loved staying outside of the city in this quiet neighborhood. We were conveniently located within an easy distance to get to everything we wanted throughout our stay. The house was spacious and clean. We loved how quiet the one way street is and would book this spot again.

Everything as expected

The stay was wonderful, it was far enough from the city with no issues on getting back and forth. Expect to be in traffic at any point of the day at this location if you are traveling downtown. There was a really good breakfast spot walking distance from the VRBO that we frequented and that was a highlight of the trip. Overall, it was modern and the beds were very comfortable l. No issues with doing laundry, checking in, checking out. Everything was provided as needed. Great stay of you have pets and/or looking to get away from the city without staying to far away.

Great Place, Excellent Communication

We came to town for a Bears game and appreciated that we were able to find such a great place in such a nice location. The space was perfect for my husband, our son and me. Beds were comfortable. Very clean. Check in was easy and Michael was an excellent host. Would definitely stay again.

Great experience

This rental is everything they advertise. It was spotless and the owner was very accommodating. We use Uber to go into the city and it was convenient. I highly recommend this rental.

What we were looking for

This property was perfect for what we were looking for. Just a quiet place to sleep. Our time in Chicago was spent exploring with friends so we were only here to sleep. The property was clean, quiet and the bed comfortable. Communication was also good. We would look into staying here again when visiting Chicago in the future.

North side Chicago

My family and I took a short trip to Chicago for a Cubs game and some shopping. The stay was very nice and the house was very clean and just what we were looking for. We found out that Chicago is a tricky city because you can’t just judge timing from the mileage from a specific location. (It took us 45 minutes to go 6 miles). When I made this booking it said it was 9 miles from Wrigley, which is accurate, but luckily we realized the day before the game when we went to the Magnificent Mile that it takes a significant amount of time to navigate through Chicago. Again, nothing to do with the property itself, just wanted other non Chicago folks to keep that in mind for timing purposes. We will definitely stay here again when we come to a Cubs game. The property owner was very attentive and helpful. We felt very safe and if we needed anything he was very quick to respond.

Perfect stay!

The location was great and quiet on a one way street, so less traffic. The host was great and even checked in on us during our stay. We had everything we needed for our family. Quick drive to downtown too which is where we spent most of our time.

Beautiful for those who aren’t allergic to dogs

Hi I stayed at the property for 4 days. The lower level basement was reflective of the photos. Very beautiful place. The beds were comfy. My only suggestions is 1 to add directions on how to turn the heat on in the main area. It was fairly cold and when I reached out about it I was told what I had already known which was the bedrooms have wall heaters and the living area has hvac but for some reason it didn’t turn on so I had to use the stove to warm up the place. 2nd the last day I noticed the toilet kept sounding like it was gargling from something going on upstairs. It was a bit annoying considering how thin the walls are. 3rd I’m allergic to dogs so the sofa has a lot of long white hair on it. I didn’t realize it until I sat down to do homework and I started itching like crazy! I got up and realized that there was dog hair on the couch and a dog bone toy on the side where I had plugged in my charger. I went to get Benadryl and laid a blanket that they had in one of the rooms across the couch. I didn’t sit on it much even with the blanket tho. Other than that, I believe the stay was okay. Parking wasn’t an issue.

Great location for our needs

Came into town for the weekend to spend time with our kids who live downtown and in Irving Park area. This location was central to both and easy to get to. Close to a great dog park for our puppy and close to everything we had on the agenda. Clean, well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds! What else could you ask for?! Perfect weekend!

Very Beautiful Property

I enjoyed everything about this property. Very beautiful, comfy, clean. Had everything we needed. The pictures dont do it much justice. Fantastic location and amenities !!

The apartment was comfortable and clean and in a great location. It was safe and secure, and had every amenity we could have possibly needed. Very grateful for the easy and quick communication with our host and him allowing us to stay an extra night at the last minute. Would 100% recommend.

Best stay!

Really appreciated the fresh look to this garden apartment. Well-appointed place. We had everything we needed for our four-day stay. Two king-sized beds? What?! Quiet neighborhood with very little traffic, but easy enough to get to the thoroughfares that take a person to other places. This rental really ended up becoming a quiet space away from the busy city. Simply put--we didn't want to leave, and we look forward to coming back!

Best stay in Chicago!

The location is great, several places to go to for local stuff. The beds are very comfortable! Me and my girlfriend tend to go on trips on a budget and we appreciate that this house had stove and other kitchenware that allowed us to cook at home! Best location ever for Chicago! Will definitely stay again in the future!
