This peaceful, cozy mountain house in Sapphire, NC is tucked away in the popular Holly Forrest neighborhood. Great views, walks and amenities. Nearby towns include Cashiers and Highlands, NC.

Enjoy hiking, swimming, golfing, riverwalks, snow-skiing, mini-golfing, horseback riding, gem mining or chasing waterfalls nearby! Go paddle-boarding, fishing, or hiking around Fairfield Lake or enjoy the day in downtown Cashiers, NC (7 miles away), or Highlands, NC (17.5 miles away). Enjoy shopping, coffee, dining, live music, and family time at local parks and playgrounds.

Or if you're looking for rest, stay home and enjoy a good book in front of the fire, relax on the front or back patio or throw up an Eno hammock for a nice long nap! Gather the family around for s'mores and stories!

This cozy mountain home includes 2 bedrooms (King bedroom, Queen bedroom), 2 baths with showers (no tub), a loft area with 2 twin beds, and 2 sofa sleepers.

The house sleeps 6 with the beds and then 2 with the sleeper sofas.

Fiber optic internet is also available with 300 mbps download/upload speed making it easy to work from the mountains!

The property was wonderful, in a great location, easy to access, with many opportunities nearby to visit. The weather prohibited us from doing some things we wanted to do, but we made the best of it. A bear visited us on our first night, which was a great delight! This property was a great location for our family gathering. The owner was wonderful to reply quickly to all of our inquiries and a delight to talk with. Thank you Grant! We will be back if you will allow us to visit your lovely home again in the future!

Summer mountain getaway

What a lovely home. The area is beautiful and the house is perfectly located to visit all the wonderful local hikes and waterfalls. Comfortable beds, kitchen has all the needed supplies. Owner is very accessible and welcoming. Would absolutely stay again.

The property exceeded all of our expectations. Plenty of room and the rear fire pit area was very secluded. The host was one of the most responsive individuals that we have interacted with. All questions were promptly responded to. Had a great time!

Perfect cabin for long weekend

We really enjoyed our stay in Sapphire cabin. It was really clean, nicely furnished, and had everything we needed for the long weekend. The owner was very much on top of things. When one (minor) issue came up it was quickly taken care of. We would stay here again. Thank you.

Fall Mountain Getaway

Wonderful home that met our every need. Comfortable and cozy with wood burning fireplace in living room, and beautiful window wall to see the fall foliage. My grandchildren loved the loft area and huge front deck. Propane fire pit was perfect for casual conversations and s'mores. Definitely a 5.0 destination for enjoying the mountains and visiting waterfalls.

We didn’t want to leave!

We had a relaxing time at this property. It’s well located in Sapphire, not too far off the main road, so it’s convenient for day trips into Cashers and Highlands. The house is well stocked and very clean, and the front deck is perfect for enjoying the mountain air. Our girls enjoyed setting up the hammock, walking in the trees behind the house, and loved the loft area. The WiFi is fast, so working remotely is no issue. The communication with Grant was quick and easy, and we were able to use the Sapphire amenities with no issue. We hope to be able to return one day soon!

We were 6 at this place. We had a great time. The only detail I didn’t know/ realize before arriving is that both bathrooms are part of the masters’ bedrooms.

Convenient serene location

The home is nestled in a quiet, private neighborhood. The home is spacious with a beautiful view of high towering trees. The bedrooms are private and the kitchen is well stocked. In the back is a tiered level area to sit around a fire pit while the front porch is great for lunch, afternoon relaxing and evenings around a gas fire pit. The owners stayed in touch before our arrival and included a welcome basket.

Lovely home nestled in the woods - awesome deck!

Our immediate family stayed here for our huge family reunion at Sapphire Valley Resort. The house is precious - lots of comfy spaces for visiting, including all sorts of board games, etc, for some fun times. Super cute welcome basket with all sorts of helpful items - including little s’mores packs that our kids enjoyed! Beds were very comfortable - whole home clean and well-stocked for anything we needed. My favorite spot was the deck - perfect for morning coffee, reading a bit, and hanging out around the fire in the evening. Great spot!

Very comfortable stay in the mountains

The home was comfortable and convenient. The people sleeping in the loft do have to use one of the two bathrooms inside another bedroom which might not be as convenient as having a bathroom in the hallway. I didn’t realize that was the layout from the description. No tv in main bedroom which I also didn’t realize. I’m a tv at bed (only) person so it’s my fault again for not checking on that ahead of time. There is a great tv in main room and a small one in second bedroom. Higher cleaning fee for a smaller home compared to other rentals. Older home, very clean. Manager very responsive and helpful. Also stocked with games and cards when unexpected rain comes in to town. We enjoyed stay. Nothing negative at all just feedback I wish I had realized prior to Booking.

A Relaxing getaway

The house was perfect, extra clean, beds and pillows were very comfortable. Kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. The firepit and chairs was very nice. Cannot think of anything I would change or add. Can't wait to go again. Thank You for sharing your lovely home.

Chilly mountain air

Love staying at this home. This vacation didn’t turn out as anticipated because I wasn’t feeling well. It was wonderful to just snuggle under throws and watch the leaves falling. Will be back!

Everything about our stay was exceptional!

Everything from the cleanliness to the communication with the property owner was exceptional. I would absolutely recommend staying in this lovely home during your stay in the area! Even though we had an unexpected issue with the power due to someone hitting an electric pole, the owner went above and beyond in making sure our stay was enjoyable. The cleanliness and the accomodations were surpassed our expectations. You will not be disappointed renting this little jewel in the mountains! Sad to go but we'll be back for sure!

Weekend away

We had a great experience at this cabin. The loft was great for our kids and the deck is beautiful. Nearby hiking was so fun and the amenities at the resort were a great fit for the kids. We will definitely be back for another visit!

Black Oak cottage

We loved every minute of the stay. Location is perfect for hiking trails, but close enough to town for shopping and good food. The cottage had everything needed to make us comfortable and feel like home. We’ll definitely be back!

Comfortable and inviting home.

This isn't a stripped-down vacation rental but rather someone's loving home that they share with their guests and make sure they have everything they need for an enjoyable stay. We appreciated extra touches such as condiments in the kitchen and toilet paper and soap in the bathrooms. We were impressed with how good the internet was, which tends to be a rarity up here. We enjoyed spending time on the inviting front porch and even saw a bear walking by at dusk from the lovely floor-to-ceiling window in the living room. We appreciated our correspondence with Grant as he was very friendly, flexible, and quick to respond to every question we had, and offered knowledgeable suggestions regarding the area. We enjoyed meeting a couple of their friendly neighbors as we walked in this quiet, peaceful, tree-covered neighborhood. We stayed busy with the abundance of activities this area affords but really enjoyed returning to this very comfortable and cozy home. We hated to have to leave but thank you for a lovely and comfortable stay!

Good Times!

This property and neighborhood is very nice and conveniently located to the all the nearby activities we wanted to do while in Sapphire. The home is well maintained, clean, well stocked, and the fire pit made for a memorable evenings with friends and family. The owners were very responsive to the few questions we had before arriving.
