Welcome to our slice of heaven literally 100 ft from the famous Au Sable River. For those looking to spend time with family, read a book, fly fish for Brook-Brown-Rainbow trout, canoe or kayak or take in the wildlife, there is no place better than Northern Michigan, specifically the AuSable River Valley. Our cabin sits on 5 acres of wooded property and offers you everything you could possibly want to escape into the peaceful serenity that Northern Michigan offers. If you are looking to stare at the millions of stars at night, our cabin will exceed your expectations. The AuSable River Cabin is located on a prime stretch of the Holy Waters, a 'flies only', 'catch and release' section nationally recognized by people all over the world. Simply walk out off the back porch, wade into the river and experience fly fishing in our famed river. Feel free to enjoy the large deck overlooking the river or have a bon fire at night with friends and family.
The cabin is located within minutes from charming downtown Grayling where you can visit the quaint shops and restaurants. Other nearby attractions include Forest Dunes Golf Club which was just ranked #1 public golf course in America (10 minutes), Mackinac Island (85 miles north), Hartwick Pines State Park (15 minutes), Gaylord/Traverse City/Lake Michigan/Petoskey and many others.
Fly fishing shops include: Gates Au Sable Lodge (2.5 miles), Old Au Sable Fly Shop (9.5 miles) & Ron's Fly Shop (9.8 miles). All shops can supply, guide service, equipment & fly recommendations for the current hatch.
Since our cabin is located so close to thousands of acres of state land, discharging any firearms or fireworks on or around our property is strictly prohibited.
The cabin offers 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. The master bedroom has a queen bed while the other two rooms have oversized built in bunk beds. There are also 2 leather sofas in the living room. We offer a newly remodeled (2023) full kitchen which includes all utensils, microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator and a washer/dryer. All beds include linens and towels are provided. If you are lucky, you may see a Bald Eagle or Osprey flying up the river or perhaps deer in the back yard eating clover in the stream on the property. Our cabin's mission it to allow our guests to decompress with family, friends, or by yourself. Breathe the fresh air, listen to the river, sit by the stream and share space with all animals around the property. The cabin is on the river and in the woods so you may see bugs, you may have a "tick" hitch a ride when walking through the woods, so be aware and wear bug spray.
We are confident you will come back year after year!
