Busch Gardens-Williamsburg-Fishing-Cornhole-Deck-River View- FIRE TABLE!

Welcome to “The Riva!” The memories made in our family river home have been endless. The living room with 7 huge picture windows plus a sliding glass door overlooking the river makes the sunrises dreamy!! This home is perfect for families coming to relax, boat, fish, and sightsee with a quick free ferry ride(drive on) across to Jamestown or Williamsburg (BUSCH GARDENS!!). It runs 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It’s about 15 minutes to the FREE drive-on ferry, a 15-20 min ferry ride then once you dock it’s about 10 minutes to get to Busch Gardens. There is also a public beach just off the ferry for everyone to enjoy. We have no doubt your family memories will be endless as well!!

IF YOU HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A FERRY: The Ferry is a FREE fun experience! You drive on with your car. Once the boat leaves the dock you can get out and walk around. Enjoy looking over the water, the birds, and all the river scenery. Then once the boat docks, you drive off and are in Williamsburg/Jamestown! There is also a restroom located on the ferry. Go experience it!!

Only a 2.5-hour drive to mountain resorts for skiing and snowboarding, such as Massanutten and Wintergreen.

The wrap-around deck with a picnic table, cornhole boards, fire pit with seating, gas grill, and additional chairs makes for great outdoor entertainment! Enjoy a cozy cup of coffee (provided) or a cocktail while sitting by the fire table and watching the sunset as the eagles fly over the river.

The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could need to use to cook! 2 full-size refrigerators. (One in the kitchen one in the laundry room) Coffee and filters provided.

There are tons of games and puzzles in the closet if there’s a rainy day. Try our family favorite, Chicken Foot, with the Dominos!

This was never meant to be a rental so trust me there’s everything!

All linens are white, cozy, and freshly laundered including down comforters! AND INCLUDED at no additional cost!

Keyless entry makes checking in at any time seamless.

Please let me know at the time of booking if you will be bringing motorized toys so I can review the guidelines.

The private beach area is for lot owners only, but everyone can enjoy the river view from the wrap-around deck! Nice public boat ramp located approx 12 min from the house. Gorgeous public beach right at Jamestown! Pack up and enjoy the day!

We had a lovely last minute vacation. The property was very homey and had everything we needed. Communication was prompt and pleasant. The area was quiet and the little yard was perfect for our dog. I would advise planning ahead for any trips for groceries and activities. While we enjoyed our first experience on the car ferry, we did need to adjust our schedules a bit. It was a great place to relax and have some late summer fun before school started.

Great vacation house

We enjoyed our stay at the Rivah House! Great view of the James. We especially enjoyed the games provided and played one almost every night. Appreciate that the house is also pet-friendly, so my girl could join the family vacation!

Family getaway

Our trip was wonderful, and the rental home exceeded our expectations. It was a perfect fit for my large family, and everyone truly enjoyed their stay. The home was clean, well-stocked, and incredibly comfortable.We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches—upon arrival.The children also had a fantastic time riding the ferry—it was a highlight of the trip.The home was beautiful and we hope to return in the future!

An ideal family vacation cabin.

This secluded hideaway cabin is obviously a home with years of accumulation of entertainment and home away from home necessities. Despite its age, it was incredibly clean. If vacationing in the Williamsburg area, the ferry is fun and adds to the “family entertainment”. Although the commute is a hike, the home feeling rather than commercial hotel is absolutely worth the trade off. The hostess was available to respond to any questions. As planned renovations come about, it can only enhance anyone’s vacation. Highly recommend for a family getaway!

Secluded, peaceful cabin

We had a great time at the cabin. We really enjoyed the wraparound deck and full wall view of river from living and dining rooms downstairs. The binoculars and telescope were a nice addition to check out the view. Comfortable beds and linens. Ideal if you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway. We loved it.

Hidden Gem

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Williamsburg and stay here! A very seamless and quick (free) car ferry ride across the James to get to Busch Gardens and Jamestown. This place is great for families. There is even a basketball hoops the kids enjoyed! Lots of space to move and very quiet and serene. We tried 2/3 restaurants in town, both good. Neighbors were friendly and lots of charm. Amanda was fabulous to work with during our stay.

Great getaway!

This was an awesome home nestled just far enough away from civilization but still close enough to access whatever you needed. The home was very clean and well-maintained and had a marvelous view of the James river. The host was very hospitable and extremely quick to answer any inquiries.

Lovely view

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, it could use some updating for sure but overall we were very happy. We spent the bulk of our time at Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. Just make sure you bring your groceries with you because there is nothing close by.

Lovely visit

We very much enjoyed our stay at River House. The view of the James River was spectacular and the house was cozy and very comfortable. I loved riding the ferry over to Jamestown and Williamsburg, The hosts are first rate and very helpful. Loved sitting in the very comfortable living room and watching the eagles, osprey and other birds flying around the river. Great vacation place!

Virginian Vacation

Our two families drive down from NH and MA. The house was a perfect set up for our group. We took the ferry into Jamestown and surrounding areas to explore the historic sites and enjoy Busch Gardens. Beautiful sunrise over the river each morning. Our host was great with communication. The downstairs did get buggy near the sliders towards the end of our stay.

Great house

Great house, when we arrived and let Amanda know the code was right there to get in. This is away from any major roads so you may want to stock up. The James River ferry is also neat. Well worth the stay, thanks Amanda.

Summer family trip

We had a nice time using this as home base while we went to Jamestown and Busch Gardens. It is a bit remote and by the end of the week the commute with the ferry was getting old. A nice, quiet place to stay for sure.
