The property was very clean. It is a little weathered from the photos on the listing. Also, there were no closets to hang clothes.

Such a welcoming little property with all the comforts of a home away from home, clean, quiet and the perfect landing place at the end of the day. Victoria was awesome, checking in frequently to make sure we didn't need anything and with the care and attention she has given to the Hen House, we wanted for nothing, really. A nice to have would have been a dresser in the big bedroom. Bonuses are the onsite laundry, efficient A/C, lots of hot water and a beautiful back yard to walk the dog. Will definitely look to stay again should our travels bring us back to Edenton. Thank you!

This property had everything we needed. We had no plans to cook, so didn't check out pots and pans, but it had everything we needed - towels, sheets, pillows, blankets, and a good shower. The TV was good, and it was convenient to the other places we visited.

This is a cute little house! Cozy but spacious. The check in process was simple!Victoria responded to my inquiries quickly and was very nice!I did notice the bathtub smelled a little mildew-ish and the refrigerator is a bit loud.Still, very convenient location. Neat, clean yard.This location also is pet friendly saving us hundreds in kennel costs!As nice or nicer than average Edenton hotel room.Would definitely stay again.

This was sucb a cute little house. Its a very easy drive to everything in downtown Edenton. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because its missing any closet space or dressers for your clothing. Basically living out of your bag the whole stay. Also, all of the beds were not made up as in missing pillows. Other than that it was a perfect little place for a long weekend.

Everything was perfect! Great central location to any rivers we wanted to fish on any given day. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean, kitchen was sublime we will be back for sure! Thank you Victoria

Edenton Tour

Perfect property for touring Edenton. Excellent location, easy access to area, perfect property for the two of them us. Air conditioning works great, plenty of tv options, quiet area. Host was extremely cooperative.

Family wedding

The property was very clean. It was small and cozy but with 4 adults and a toddler, we were not crowded at all. We enjoyed the deck as well during the afternoon and night. Check in process was easy and our hostess was very accommodating to our needs. The outside of the property was well lit and we felt very safe. Definitely recommend this property.

Another wonderful stay

The Hen House is perfect for visiting Edenton. Victoria was so great at moving our days so we could stay for the Rockfish festival. Weather was so nice and we always carry folding camp chairs, so we spent a lot of time relaxing on the back deck which had plenty of shade and a beautiful view of the large back yard and fields beyond. Comfy, homey, and convenient!

So much better than staying at a hotel!

We were staying in Edenton for four nights, and opted for a VRBO instead of a hotel. We had a bunch of activities planned for while we were down there, so we weren't looking for a hotel with a pool or a gym or anything like that. But what we DID want was a cute little house that provided all of the amenities we'd need. There's a supermarket close by to do some food shopping, so you can make your own breakfast on your schedule if you so desire. Also, at night, it was nice to relax on the back porch with a beverage, something I wouldn't do if staying at a hotel. The place was clean, had everything we needed, was easy to get to, and the property manager was responsive. What more could you want?

Home away from Home!!!!

I enjoyed my stay, everything was so beautiful, inviting and relaxing!!! My only problem was that it was a bit pricey, compared to other homes listed in the area and on Airbnb, but being it was a last minute trip and didn’t wanna drive back that night, we stayed!! Other than that I give the place a thumbs up!!

Great weekend spot

The property was great for our small family group. We were in town visiting family for just one night and it worked out great. The home was clean and we had all we needed. Communication was wonderful and questions answered quickly. We would definitely stay again.

Very Nice

It was just right for our family. It was very clean and comfortable. Easy check in and check out. We were in town to visit family who live nearby. It was close to every thing we may need. Edenton is a cute town we always enjoy walking around.

Clean, convenient, cute!

Victoria has obviously done a lot of work on this cute little cottage! From the colorful electric fireplace to the gorgeous wooden countertops to the decorative touches and colors, she has put a lot of thought and effort into making this a welcoming and comfortable home. So close to historic Edenton we were able to do two tours with lunch between at the cottage in one day! Convenient to restaurants, grocery store, gas. The shoulders on the road are wide enough to make walking the dog and picking up after him easy. The streetlight gives great lighting so finding the house at night and getting in after dark is a breeze. Highly recommended!

Small House, Small Town, Good Experience

The house is small, but it was exactly what we needed for one night on our way to the Outer Banks. It is off the beaten path but still close to everything in town to make it a great place to stay. One complaint would be the lack of a TV in the bedrooms, but the house was clean and perfect for a one night stay. The property manager was great to work with and their hospitality was the best you could ask for.
