Really nice area.the beach was great. The unit was clean. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was very well stocked, could update the coffee maker to a K-cup style. The front bathrooms vent doesn't work and the towel rack is very loose. The hurricane doors to the deck need a little oil, hard to operate. But all in all we wound stay there again!!!

Surf Side Shores

Location was great, closeness to the beach/water was terrific. The floors were dirty, our feet were black after being there a very short time, the cabinets need replaced, the comforter on the bed smelled of dirty feet or possibly wet dog, this unit needs an overhaul, the couch was horribly uncomfortable.

Where's the Beach

We knew going in that this unit had not been updated, but it really was worse than we expected. That said, we usually come for the beach and in this case, were very disappointed with the very narrow beachfront. Looks like half of it is gone compared with the beach further east.

Great location, accurate description

The only negatives I had? The master bathroom shower isn’t nearly as new/nice as the guest bedroom’s….and the humidity alarm malfunctioned, and went off for over 30 minutes around 5am….I had to disconnect it to allow us to sleep.

The Rental and facility staff were always pleasant and very responsive. I particularly praise Glen the building manager who helped with mail and good counseling. If I had to pick one negative thing to say, I guess it would be that you have to bring up your umbrella and chairs or they will Confiscate them. I understand why they do this but that part is aggravating compared to the units they allow you to leave your umbrella and chairs. It's certainly nothing that would stop me from booking again!

The dryer was not spinning and was locked up but they had it replaced the same day while we were out on the beach. Awesome response to that. Loved the view and the ease of getting in and out of the room to the beach and parking area. It was pricier than I would have liked but I can’t control that. I stayed in a place just like it 9 months ago in OB for 2/3’s the amount I paid this year.

The description was very accurate regarding the location, layout, and amenities. It was an older condo which was fine with us since we were there for the beach and fun things to do instead of spending a lot of time in the condo. The property was clean and maintained. Every morning staff were at the pool area cleaning up and rearranging from the night before, including the BBQ area. The customer service was great from the moment of booking to the moment of checking out. I would recommend this property and the location was close to fun things to do. The security was to notch as well. We would definitely rent from here again.

Location is amazing

The location is amazing!! Beautiful view. The condo is very nice and clean. My only issue was carpet being in both bedrooms and the half bath. Coming from the beach makes it hard to not track sand or water on the carpet. Also the carpet is unraveling and bulging at the entry ways which made it easy for a child or elderly to fall. There are specific rules that contain not hanging towels on the balcony or feeding the birds. I also was contacted by security because someone went to them regarding my children. We followed all the rules and my children didn't do anything wrong or anything to cause the mishap with security. That was disappointing being oyr family vacation. Other than those issues, the condo is very clean and homey. The beach is beautiful and close by. The pool is nice as well.

Weekend at the beach

Reviewer Comments: We had a great weekend at the beach. The location is great. The beach is so close. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. I do have a couple complaints. The parking lot, the spots are so narrow, I have an SUV, and there are not enough parking spots. We drove from Missouri, I brought 2 shades for the beach. A pop-up canopy and a Shambui. Only to find out they are not allowed at this part of the beach. 2 condos down to the east, you could have them. I could see many of the same things I brought but beach patrol said we could not have them at our part. I had to go buy the umbrella type. The lady at the store said it is not a Gulf Shores "rule", it is a condo "rule". That was frustrating.

Enjoyed Gulf Shores but am disappointed with Gulf Shores Rentals

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our rental property was very nice but in need of updating. Accessibility to beach was good and the view was spectacular. Unfortunately we were not informed that the access to the beach from Surfside Shore would be closed the last three days of our stay due to beach restoration. The restoration was announced but the exact dates were unknown. Since our reservation was was made only a month prior to our arrival, I feel we should have been informed of the possibility of beach access being closed from the property. Had I been informed by Gulf Shores Rentals, I may have adjusted my vacation time or property location. When I informed Gulf Shores Rentals I was given an apology where as at least one night rental fee or other compensation should have been granted. I see on Facebook that others who were renting the same week received some form of compensation.
