WATERFRONT, KAYAKS, KING BEDS, Olalla Bay Getaway is at the waters-edge just 55 minutes from Seattle via ferry or 10 minutes from Gig Harbor. The ever-changing views of Colvos Passage and Vashon Island can be seen from every window of this peaceful oasis. Guests are delighted with the wildlife local to the area including: Harbor seals, bald eagles, otters, porpoises, and the occasional orca whales. The sound of waves and birds makes the perfect soundtrack for your getaway. Enjoy relaxing on the sun filled deck or check out the porch swing which is perfect for a good book or a nap after your day's adventures. Kayaks, fire pit, & propane fire table for sunset conversations. Mooring buoy for boats up to 34' in length is also available.

We had a wonderful, peaceful girls’ getaway this winter! The house was beautiful and right on the water where there were sea lions and bufflehead ducks. The owner was communicative and helpful with any questions we had. Definitely recommend!

Overnight stay

We loved the location close to the water. We were able to see a few seals, a dolphin and an eagle that lives in the area. I wish we had more time to stay.

The house was right on the water as described and close to the Olalla Market (walking distance) . It was well appointed and clean. We rented it because a family wedding that we attended and it was perfect. Our host Laurie was also great and very responsive. I would highly recommend staying at this location!

Beautiful location on the beach, stocked very well from games to throw blankets to kitchen ware and pantry. Spacious and open - enough beds/bedrooms for 4 adults and 2 or 3 kids. Several outdoor areas up & downstairs to enjoy the beach view, all with different seating & vibes. Easy access from the Seattle area, and easy drive to Gig Harbor for a visit or Southworth for the ferry.

Amazing! There are two kayaks- one single and one double- and they both work (and there are life jackets and paddles). It was perfect- lots of wildlife.

We had a fantastic weekend at this oceanfront house! The view was absolutely stunning—waking up to the sound of the waves and sipping coffee on the deck was pure bliss. The home was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Easy beach access made it perfect for kayaking and the kids playing in the water. We’d definitely love to come back!

Wonderful stay!

What a wonderful, relaxing stay in the most beautiful location. Laurie was so sweet with reaching out and nice touches and snacks for a comfortable stay. We loved using the kayaks and paddle boards and the home provided plenty of space for our family of 5. We can’t wait to return again someday!

Perfect for a family vacation

This is a lovely home perfect for a family vacation. It is situated right on the water with easy access for kayaking and paddleboarding. We loved the decks, both up and down, with seating to view all the wildlife activity and a firepit table for entertaining. Close to Gig Harbor and the ferries to Seattle and north, we were able to explore this beautiful are area of WA.

Amazing get away right on the water!

One of my favorite properties I’ve ever stayed loved the set up of the house it was beautiful and the water is 10ft away from the house we got to go out on the paddle boards and kayaks and we saw sea lions! there is a hanging couch outside downstairs that is perfect to have coffee at in the morning with the sun rising on the water it was so peaceful. I would definitely stay here again!

Birthday Getaway

We had a wonderful time celebrating our friends 50th birthday at your beautiful location. We saw seals and otters. We enjoyed watching the weather move through and even saw some lightning. It was absolutely perfect.

Fantastic waterfront stay in Olalla!

My child, mother, and two friends flew in to stay for a week. My aunt and cousins live in Olalla and Gig Harbor and they were so impressed they may even want to rent the house for a holiday weekend! Everything was wonderful. We had a great time.

Play on the Water

What a lovely setting! We enjoyed a peaceful stay relaxing at the house, taking the kayaks and paddleboards out on the water, or taking a stroll at low tide to see what treasures we could find. There was enough space for everyone to enjoy time together or retreat to separate areas. We would stay here again!

John and Laurie are long time locals to the area and love to host guests to their little slice of heaven. Both have been in the customer service industry for over 30 years and truly love to show off all that Olalla Bay Getaway (OGB) and the Olalla/Gig Harbor area has to offer.

OGB is a unique waterfront property that boasts incredible views any time of year and privacy not typical to a short term rental. The home has been fully furnished with modern, comfortable furniture that aims to provide a special getaway. Our guests comment on seeing a variety of wildlife while visiting and no matter the weather you will see stunning views from every living space. Although close to Gig Harbor (10 mins) and all its great restaurants, shops and activities you will feel a million miles away at this private oasis.

2 outdoor living spaces provide all the room you and your group will need to spend quality time together including: The main level deck has a round table with a propane fire and comfortable couch that together can each seat 6 people. The real guest favorite is the covered space on the ground floor that has a couch swing and additional comfy chairs for hot summer days, cold winter nights and everything in between!
In addition, OBG has 3 kayaks that are available just steps from the water which allow you to get up and close with the amazing Colvos Passage and its stunning views and wildlife.
Finally, you will find an outdoor firepit with adirondack chairs to spend your evenings around and marveling at the night sky.
