Recently renovated, the house can be rented as a 3BR/2Bath or 5 BR/3Bath. Spacious and peaceful with unique indoor and outdoor spaces - The Pond House is centrally located between Fayetteville and Oak Hill near Cunard River access and New River Gorge Hiking and Biking trails. A perfect setting to serve as your home base as you, your family and friends explore the New River Gorge. Spaces include living room, 2 sitting areas, dining room, an outdoor firepit and game room! And Oh - let's not forget the Pond! A small farm pond - great for kids to fish!

The accommodations, location, and host were amazing. We had a great time visiting local restaurants, shops, and the New River Gorge. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience to spend Christmas with our family.

Great place to stay 20 minutes from Ace Adventures. Well stocked kitchen, very comfy beds. We loved the welcome sign s’mores and firepit and firewood on site. Quiet, beautiful and peaceful.Highly recommend for large groups.3 queen beds one king bed, 2 twin beds, futonAnd plenty of room in the game room to bring a couple of air mattresses.

Loved it! The house was fully stocked with what we needed and spacious enough for our family. We enjoyed the fire pit (already set up) along with all the fixings provided. We enjoyed a day rafing on the New River and this home was the perfect spot to relax before and after.

Family trip

Exceptional!! Owners went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. House was very clean and fire pit was nice. I have never had an owner make me feel this comfortable and welcome. Thanks for the wonderful stay!! I would definitely stay here again.

Great house & hosts!

Matt & Shannon are amazing hosts! They made us feel very warm & welcome. This home had more than enough room for our family - 6 adults and 1 infant. Very clean, comfy, and beautiful views - great place to relax after long eventful days. Would love to stay again if we return o the area.

Superb

This is a hidden gem. The location was very quiet and relaxing. The house was very clean and modern. There was a welcome sign for us with our names on it. That made us feel very welcomed. The house was stocked with lots of amenities, towels, air freshners, q-tips, hair dryer, suntan lotion, mosquito spray, paper, pens, markers, etc. There were lots of games, books, and TVs. They provided wifi (worked well), fishing supplies, umbrella, cornhole, ping pong table, tabletop foosball, relaxation rooms with 5 bedrooms, 3 full baths. They provided a fire pit with goodies to make smores. The grill was ready and waiting for use. We really enjoyed ourselves. This is a wonderful property. The host provided great communication from start to finish.

Great home and great location!

This house was perfect for our family of 8. The house is stocked with everything you could need including special touches like firewood and s'more's! The owner was very responsive to all of our requests and questions. We will be back!

Wonderful Country Home away from Home

From booking to checkout, hosts were very quick to respond to any questions and very accommodating. We were in town for a local family reunion. This is a large home with peaceful setting. House was stocked with everything we needed. Beds were extremely comfortable. We had young children with us, ages 1,3, and 5. The kiddos enjoyed the game room. The hosts even went above and beyond and brought out a baby gate for the steps. The pond provided hrs of entertainment for my husband who loves to fish. This is a perfect vacation home. Thank you again for your hospitality!

Family gathering for a Wedding in the area

This was a very beautiful, spacious and clean place to stay. The kitchen had all the amenities that you you need. The beds were all comfortable. Their preparation was outstanding and it made things easy for us all coming from different parts of the USA. The area was quiet and had a large yard with a pond stocked with fish. If I ever go to Fayetteville again I will definitely stay at this place again

Fun Family Time

We had a wonderful time staying minutes from the Gorge A great location, we went to the Bridge and hiked a trail with beautiful vistas. The house had everything we needed for 3 families. We used all 5 bedrooms, living room, sunroom, kitchen, dining room and game room. The children enjoyed running down the hill to the pond. Thank you for sharing your home.

Bridge day guests

We had an amazing stay during our time in Fayetteville. The property was close to bridge day festivities. The kitchen had everything for our cooking needs, we played ping pong in the game room, roasted marshmallows in the out door fire pit and made use of the board games. The owner was very responsive. Would highly recommend!

Great place

We had a wonderful stay. The house was immaculate and well appointed! The fire pit was already ready with with paper and wood. S’mores were an added bonus. Kids enjoyed the ping pong table, fishing and corn hole boards. Loved the views and quiet. Thank you for opening your home to us

60th Birthday Celebration

The property is even more amazing in person. Absolutely breathtaking. The home was perfect. Clean, comfortable and spacious. There ended up being nine of us, 3 couples and 3 singles. We each had a bed which was a criteria for us. It also worked out that we had our own bedrooms. We used the fire pit both nights. We needed a fan for one of the rooms because it wasn’t cooling down, so we called Shannon and she came right over to check the room’s AC and adjusted it. We left and later when we came back she had placed 2 fans inside just in case the room didn’t cool off in time for bed! 😊 We were all very happy with the place. Plenty of towels and blankets. I can’t say enough about it. I would highly recommend staying there. Plenty of room outside for kids to run around. We didn’t have a chance to fish the pond😔 We were about a 15 minute drive to Ace adventures. The roads are winding so it takes a bit longer.

Family Reunion!

Wonderful

It was a great place to come back to after having a long day of hiking or other events that we found ourselves doing. I did find my self calling the place home after each activity we got done with and saying it’s time to go home. A lovely place to stay at to make it feel like you never left home

Everything we hoped for in a family & friends weekend retreat

Booking and check in were very smooth. Hosts responded very promptly to questions ahead of the trip. When we arrived we were so pleased that the place felt even more spacious than it looked in the pictures and it was immaculate. The hosts provided so many nice touches and really seemed to have tuned into how make everything very user friendly, from the grill to the fire pit and everything inside the home. Our group enjoyed our whitewater rafting weekend and the Pond House was a perfect location for food, fun, and some much needed rest after the day on the river. Would not hesitate to book this property again and would recommend highly to others visiting the region. Thank you for sharing your property and for helping us make so many terrific memories.

Perfect for us

We had a great weekend. The weather forecast changed at the last minute in our favor and that made all activities more enjoyable! The home is lovely and accommodated our party of 10 perfectly. When not out, we enjoyed fishing, ping pong, corn hole, and s’mores at the house. Someone drove by and told my son there was a 40 lb catfish in the pond and so my son has vowed to return to catch that.

We have resided in the Fayetteville area for over 30 years. We lived on the outskirts of Chicago for a brief moment, and were drawn back to the hills of West Virginia on a mountain biking adventure and have been here ever since. As veteran's of the tourism industry, we love sharing our state and area with people from all over - we always hope they enjoy their experience.

On site there is a pond with great fishing for kids, an expansive rolling yard in the front and fenced in backyard with a firepit. We recently added a game/TV room complete with a ping-pong table. The house has many spaces, so if you want a quiet moment or to be together with others, you can do both.
