Hummingbird Oceanside Suites: St. Mark's Summit Suite
OCEANFRONT & MOUNTAIN VIEWS w/ HOT TUB & WOOD BARREL SAUNA
St. Mark’s Summit Suite - best for sunrise with huge windows that provide sweeping views of West Van & Vancouver. The suite is attached to the house, but has its own exterior entrance, queen bed, bathroom with rain shower, flat screen TV & kitchenette. Sleeps 2 people.
There’s no better place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine to soak in the views! We’re often frequented by eagles, deer & if you're lucky whales!

Situated in Dorman Bay, our waterfront property is a fabulous location with incredible and expansive views to the North, East and South.
We’re only a 5 minute drive from Snug Cove (ferry, restaurants, shops), 15 minute walk to Dorman Point, and 10 minute walk to September Morn Beach.
We have two dwellings on the property: the main house and the cabin.
The main house accommodates 4 private suites (Cypress Mountain Suite, Mount Strachan Suite, St. Mark’s Summit Suite, and David Peak Suite). The suites range between 200 sq.ft to 250 sq.ft. Each suite has its own private exterior entrance, king/queen bed, private bathroom with rain shower, heated bathroom floor & heated towel rack, flat screen TV, dining area, and kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee machine, kettle, dishes & utensils). Due to our business license, we're not allowed to provide a hot plate/stove in our suites. The suites have access to three outdoor lounge areas, a shared hot tub, a shared wood barrel sauna, outdoor shower, a lawn games field with BBQ, a staircase to the ocean, and a communal fire pit area. All suites have access to high speed wi-fi and Netflix.

Please note: 1. No children under 12 years old in our suites, but are welcome in our modern cabin. 2. No pets allowed on our property. 3. No smoking anywhere on our property. 4. The suites are private rooms inside our main house and you can occasionally hear us upstairs as well as other guests in the rooms beside, so please be mindful and respectful of that. 5. Our driveway is very steep and cemented all the way down. There is one parking spot per suite down at the main house, but if you prefer, we have a gravel parking pad at the road, 100m past our driveway entrance. *During the winter season, we recommend parking at the road if the driveway or the conditions during your stay are icy and/or covered in snow.*
About our other accommodation and shared spaces:
The cabin is 1,000 sq.ft. with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room with sofa bed, full kitchen, large patio, and private hot tub. Sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids.
The cabin has a separate listing (search Hummingbird Oceanside Suites: The Modern Cabin).
There is a wood barrel sauna and outdoor shower down by the main house, which is shared between all the property guests.
The property offers a lawn games field (cornhole, bocce, and spike ball) with a communal BBQ above the main house parking lot for all guests to use and enjoy.
There is access to the ocean (no beach) using our wooden stairs down by the main house. Please use caution and use at your own risk. You can use the stairs between sunrise and sunset. If you plan on going swimming, the currents are very strong in our bay, so we recommend using life jackets.
There is a communal fire pit area above the lawn games field. This contained fire pit can be used by all property guests and each guest must provide their own firewood, kindling and lighter. You can bring your own wood or the General Store in Snug Cove sells firewood bundles. Use at your own risk, never leave your fire unattended, put out your fire when finished, and no fires during fire ban season.
Security Disclosure - Since we have 5 rentals on our property, we have four security cameras - all outdoors. One faces our driveway entrance gate, one faces down the driveway and the lawn games field, one faces our main house parking area, and one faces the oceanside shared lounge areas. They will be on during your stay.
Our family lives in the main house year-round (on the upper floor) and we look forward to meeting you!

Beautiful location and outdoor amenities. Melissa was very responsive when we asked for a few more dishes. I would give her unit 6 stars if it had a kitchen to make longer stays easier, but it was great and true to the listing.

The exact oasis we were looking for. The unit is small but very cozy, the sauna and hot tub were as advertised. Saw several woodpeckers on the first day of our stay, but no whales unfortunately. The kitchenette is pretty bare bones, so if you had dreams of preparing your own food, you'll almost undoubtedly need to go into the village for restaurant fare, but it's less than 5 minutes away by car.A million dollar view, would stay again without hesitation.

Fabulous getaway
We drove from Seattle for the weekend after a work trip. What an amazing way to unplug. Great little town, wonderful hosts, and the property is breathtaking. I loved the hummingbirds at the top of Dorman Point and Tuscany was fabulous for dinner. We also enjoyed Riley’s Cider House and just driving around this hidden gem.

Gorgeous spot, never mind the weather!
We had a magical stay a the Hummingbird Suites on Bowen Island. We loved our stay in the gorgeously designed St. Marks suite with breathtaking views of the water. It was lovely to be welcomed with a handwritten card and chilled bottle of wine. We didn't have much luck with the weather but still enjoyed the hot tub in the rain! The island is beautiful with excellent restaurants, fun hikes and quaint stores. We'll be back!

Believe the advertisement. This trip was simply brilliant and it all started with the wonder suite! Great communication, willingness to answer questions, extremely clean, and the location! All the facilities were on point. Fire pit was great. As I brought my own wood, but just added to the experience after dinner to enjoy a beverage by the fire and then a soak watching the sunset. As a famous actor once said, “I’ll be back” thanks again!

Beautiful property!
My brother and I booked a stay in the St. Mark's suite over a weekend ahead of work trip in downtown Vancouver, and we were absolutely floored as soon as we arrived! The views were absolutely stunning, and the suite itself was also beautiful & it was great to have a kitchenette. It felt very luxurious and the special touches from Melissa and Dominic, including a little card and bottle of wine to welcome us, were evident. The hot tub was a highlight for us with views of the mountains in the distance.
Thank you Melissa and Dominic for hosting us! Highly recommend. :)

The new hidden Gem for Retreats
“Why leave”? That is what we kept telling ourselves. The proximity to the terminal and two 8 minute walks in each direction to key beaches and viewpoints makes this a perfect spot.
If you like wellness retreats, you can do a self-guided one here with places to do yoga with breathtaking views and hot tub/sauna. You can easily do a cold plunge as well with the wonderful 100 step staircase the crafty owners built down to the water.
So much potential and such flexible and open-minded owners.
This is the new hidden gem of the island for professionals, teams, and couples who need an accessible retreat not far from the city.

We fell in love with this property and Bowen Island in the summer of 2020 and then subsequently purchased the bare land lot in November 2020. Shortly after in March 2021, we started building the main house and the cabin simultaneously. In December 2021, my husband and I were able to move into the main house, and in February/March 2022 we slowly opened up the suites for guests. The cabin was ready by June 2022.
