La "jaula de grillos" es una acogedora cabaña, rústico, con impresionantes vistas del Valle de Coachella. Situado en lo alto de la Cahuilla Hills (adyacente a Bighorn Golf Club) y envuelta por las montañas de Santa Rosa, que está a sólo 2 millas del centro de Palm Desert.
Mis tíos homesteaded esta tierra en 1948 y construyó la cabina, conocido cariñosamente como "La jaula de pájaro '. Frecuentado por las estrellas de cine en la década de 1950 que valoraban su privacidad, es una de las últimas propiedades en nuestra área.
El Birdcage tiene un dormitorio con una nueva cama de matrimonio, un cuarto de baño con una buena ducha grande y una sala de estar / comedor / cocina - todos con hermosas vistas. El gran patio es perfecto para el café de consumición de la mañana mientras el sol se levanta sobre las montañas, mirando a los halcones sobre sus cabezas durante el día, o viendo el valle debajo transición de oro al rosa como el sol se pone detrás de usted. Highly recommend!

This is the second time we've stayed at Ann's place, "The Birdcage." We love this quirky, unique cabin and it's just perfect for two. But... our favorite part is the 360 degree views where you can watch the sun rise over the mountains in the morning and the sun retreat behind the mountains in the evening. It's location is convenient and at the end of the day it was so nice to return to this little slice of heaven. Thank you for hosting us Ann!

This is a wonderful place to stay during your time in Palm Desert. It is perfectly located close to town. The property itself is extremely comfortable with a strong shower and functional layout. The outdoor space is equally well laid out and provides additional space. A great place to get away and relax. Communication with hosts was easy. Don’t hesitate to stay here. We are definitely planning a return trip!

It's the view

This is a charming, cozy, simple cabin with wonderfully expansive views - of the sunrises, the valley, the foothills/mountain ridges, the moonlit nights. We ate breakfasts and dinners on the patio and were out and about during the days. Very good hiking trails up the road. Fresh eggs were a bonus. Thanks!

Thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our stay

Little 75-year old house that is superbly well stocked with all the necessities and much more that made our stay very pleasurable. Lots of love and history throughout. Very well stocked with every possible need, something that is unusual these days. We just needed to bring fresh food and nothing else. View is superb and having the patio area with fireplace, grill, tables and chairs was very welcome for the evenings. Excellent communication, detailed directions, easy to check in and out.

Stunning 360’ views!

This cabin probably has the best views of any property in the entire Coachella valley. There are 360’ views of mountains and Palm desert. The location is very convenient to shopping, dining, golf etc. we loved sitting on the patio and looking at the mountains. Ann, the owner, is absolutely delightful.

One of the best places we’ve ever stayed!

This was such a wonderful little cottage we were beyond impressed with how quaint and beautiful this place and property are! We stayed almost 2 weeks and it was so relaxing. I will definitely be coming back to stay here again!

So Many Things to Do

We would have had a perfectly wonderful time relaxing in this lovely little hideaway in the Hills but there are so many nearby attractions we stayed busy the entire time: Joshua Tree, Salton Sea and Salvation Mountain, all of the great shops and restaurants nearby. Special and unique

What a delightful little place this is. And for the owners to entrust its history and solitude as Palm Desert developed around the property is truly remarkable. I bought several of the books the owner have in the house for their guests to read. (The bathroom hand soap truly is deep moisturizing!). 360 degree views. Peaceful, silent, contemplative. We can’t wait to go back!

Great experience!

This is an awesome place for a Palm Desert getaway. Well stocked with all necessities. Air conditioned for a few hot desert days. Pet friendly! Comfortable bed. Wonderful views. We didn't take advantage of the outdoor gas grill or chimney but great to have them available. Plenty of outdoor seating for meals or relaxing. We'll definitely visit again! Thanks Ann!

Wonderful place. Had a great weekend enjoying the nature, the views and the peace of the desert. All amenities close by in Palm Desert if you want that too. Everything was so straight forward and welcoming. Hope to be back again for sure.

The Birdcage in Palm Desert

This is a very unique and interesting property. We loved it. The property has been kept in the family since 1948 and has a great history. It is a great example of a homestead. Sitting outside, the birds and plants were very interesting. City lights view at night. Easy access to grocery stores and such. It's like we stepped back in time. Definitely will ask to stay there again when we return to the area.

Desert Hideway in the Hills

We absolutely loved our stay at The Birdcage and can't wait to visit again someday. With the amazing views, it was hard to stay away from the patio; our dogs loved watching all the sights and sounds of the many birds that came to sing to us. Driving up to the homestead, we felt at home right away - a roadrunner called to us from the top of the outhouse! Upon entering, we were greeted with a note wishing my husband a happy birthday (the reason for the weekend), fresh flowers, and local eggs. With fresh firewood on the patio for the chiminea, we were all set. The property has a fascinating background, and the owner, Ann, has included literature and photos sharing its history. What a wonderful thing for this place to have remained in her family all these years. Staying here will appeal to those looking to be close to the city but away from the crowds or those looking for a total escape. We appreciated that we could bring our fluffy friends along, too!

We grew up using this property as our own vacation home. Now we want to share it with other. On the lower property we grow date palms and organic vegetables.

You feel worlds away from the congestion of the city. Yet it's only a 5 minute drive to wonderful resturants and shopping. The peace of having wide open spaces and a view of the valley below cannot be beat.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

It's fun to stay here, relaxing, exhilarating at the same time. You're close to hiking, town and all the amenities of the area, yet in this quiet beautiful setting. The city light view is so spectacular that you won't want to go to bed!!
Ask about your dog. Dogs over two years old, well trained are okay. We are dog lovers!
