Hi! My name is Wilna Erasmus. I know, it's not your typical American name! I was born and raised in South Africa. We immigrated to the USA with our three children in 2001. We have family in different continents. We love to travel and visit new places, but there's no place like home. We created The Otter Pod to be your home away from home,
away from the busyness of life. We created The Otter Pod for exactly what it means: A comfortable and relaxed- "Raft": This term is often used when otters are observed resting or floating together on the water's surface.
"Romp": This implies a more active and playful gathering of otters, characterized by their energetic interactions.
"Family": This term usually indicates a group of related otters, or close-knitted otter friends. These terms reflect the social dynamics and behaviors of otters, highlighting their playful and gregarious nature. This is exactly what we had in mind; a snug retreat or refuge; resting, but playful and fun place place. We want you to know that we love people and want you to enjoy your stay. I think it's important for you to know that we love animals, music, and art, and the joy of and blessings of getting together as family or friends. Small pets are welcome! Please keep a pets and children attended at all times as there is no barrier between the deck and the canal!
