This was a very nice property and overall great experience! The owners were very easy to get ahold of and the property manager was very helpful on both arrival and departure… our vacation could not have gone smoother and my kids did not want to leave.

It was an AMAZING week from start to finish. The communication prior to arrival was extremely informative. We were met by a smile as we arrived on Captiva Island. He made sure we had everything we needed to get our vacation started right. The house is perfect with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Already planning our next trip!

Wow! What a house!

Our family had a wonderful time staying here. The house has pretty much everything you need. Outside it has a swimming pool, hot tub, ping pong table, bean bags, hammocks, paddle boards, chairs, flat top grill, and umbrellas for the beach. The inside was amazing with a full kitchen. If we ever comeback to North Captiva, Tortuga Sunset will be at the top of our list!

Wonderful Stay @ Tortuga Sunset

Our stay at Tortuga Sunset was amazing! The house is exactly as described and was absolutely perfect! Our teenagers were hardly ever out of the pool and hot tub and the pool was nice and cool after a long beach day. Watching the planes and helicopters take off and land was a highlight for the whole family. Can’t imagine a better location on the island - staying next to the airstrip was fabulous! Great sunset views from the balcony and also enjoyed having a cup of coffee in the mornings while looking out at the ocean from my coffee spot in the dining room! Seeing the gopher tortoises around the island was so fun and definitely one of our favorite parts! Loved watching them munching on the grass and plants. Beaches were quiet and beautiful and there is exceptional shelling at the end of the road the house is on. We are avid shellers and have found both a Junonia and Scotch Bonnet on that beach which made our day! The owner was happy to answer any questions we had and it’s obvious how much they love & care for their home - it has everything you need! We spent a couple of rainy days doing puzzles and reading while still enjoying the setting. Shally’s property management was also great and there to pick us up and take us back to the ferry. 10/10 for the stay and we can’t wait to come back!

Favorite House on the Island

This was our third time staying on North Captiva, and life the first two times we loved every minute of our stay. But this time was different, it was better and it was this house that made the difference! From its location, to the layout of the house we absolutely loved it! The pool a d spa were a huge hit for everyone! The spa heater worked very well, unlike other homes that we have stayed at. Shally’s grocery service was amazing and worth every penny of the fee! We will never do it any other way. Arriving after a long day of travel to find the fridge and pantry stocked with food was a very comforting. This is a wonderful home for a family with kids or up to three couples(each room has a minimum a nice king bed). The open layout of the common areas makes time together intimate, while the room layout makes you feel like you have the place all to yourself. I recommend this place to my family and friends and whoever else wants to visit the island. Oh, and the golf cart was amazing! It was like driving a limo, we road around the island in comfort and style.

We are a passionate, adventure-loving family, always seeking new experiences. By serendipity, we discovered North Captiva and instantly fell in love during our very first visit in 2017. Since then, this island has become a cherished part of our lives.

While my husband thrives as a landscape contractor in Michigan, I’m proud to serve as a pediatric RN at the University of Michigan. Together, we balance hard work with our greatest joy—spending time with our vibrant family of five children (ages 15 to 36), three wonderful sons-in-law, one cherished daughter-in-law, and four amazing grandchildren. Traveling together has been the cornerstone of our adventures, creating countless memories that bind us.

Beyond enjoying the island, we are deeply committed to preserving the beauty and uniqueness of North Captiva. We lead and support numerous island initiatives, from installing road and educational signs to guiding limited beach access projects—all with the goal of protecting the natural environment and enriching the island experience for generations to come.

Our home is an extension of yours, and we warmly welcome you to experience the magic, serenity, and tropical charm of North Captiva Island. We hope you fall in love with it as deeply as we have.
