DESTACADO EN LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS HOY EL 17/7/17 como una de las "50 MEJORES CASAS PARA ALQUILAR EN LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS". Esta increíble casa es para las personas con extraordinario sabor. Situada en el borde del Océano Atlántico, esta casa recién restaurada ofrece unas vistas espectaculares de la misma de las terrazas, porches y expansiva patio de piedra. Es hogar ideal para los vacacionistas. Además, esta propiedad histórica única se destacó en la edición de agosto de 2006 de 'Travel & Leisure' (p. 192) y en la edición de agosto de 2007 de 'Home & Design de Maine'. La casa fue completamente restaurada (terminada el 1 de junio de 2012) a su estado original y auténtico.

Alojarse en el Stonehouse es como alojándonos en un yate. Hay vistas al mar desde todas las ventanas! Conciliar el sueño en la noche con el sonido de las olas en las rocas. Empiece el día con barcos de langosta fuera de su ventana reunir su pesca diaria. Disfrute de la salida del sol en la cubierta fuera de la cocina mientras observa a los cormoranes secan sus alas. Esta casa cuenta con 6 dormitorios, 4. 5 baños, sala / oficina, y varias chimeneas en tres plantas vivas sentado ... todo recién restaurados!

El primer piso tiene una sala de estar, comedor, porche, zona de bar cocina, despensa y el estado de la técnica de cocina, todas con vista al mar. Un porche de piedra fuera de la sala de estar se aferra al borde del océano. Un gran patio entretenimiento al aire libre con parrilla de gas está fuera de la cocina, es una nueva cubierta de madera de marca para cenar.

La segunda planta dispone de 4 habitaciones: Suite principal con baño nuevo rey cama (ducha y bañera) y un porche espectacular captura de puntos de vista de alto nivel del mar. Dormitorio con cama completa conectada al dormitorio con cama doble de baño nuevo (sólo ducha) .... Porche Maestro continúa fuera de estos 2 dormitorios. Dormitorio con 2 camas individuales y baño privado recién renovada (sólo ducha).

La tercera planta consta de 2 dormitorios, cada uno con una cama doble y un baño recientemente renovado (sólo ducha). También cuenta con una sala de juegos equipada con un televisor, vídeo, fax / copiadora / escáner e internet inalámbrico en toda la casa.

NOTA: El garaje para 2 coches y sala de arriba no está incluido en el alquiler.

There are not enough words to describe how amazing this property AND the owners are! The location and scene are incredible and breathtaking. The house itself is so beautifully appointed and beyond comfortable and the owners Ashley and Pierce could not be more accommodating! Heartbreaking to leave.

Sublime time

My family (6 of us) had a wonderful time staying at The Stonehouse. Hospitality was oozing from the moment we arrived with the beautifully maintained gardens and grounds, graciously equipped kitchen and bathrooms to the comfort of each bed. All the mechanics of the house worked smoothly and amenities like beach towels and excellent communication about the house and the community was left by the owner for us to reference. A real vacation, a true delight, for us all!

100% great in every way!

Stayed here for a week for a girls trip! We had plans everyday to do things, but in the end, spent many hours at the house - didn't want to leave. The house was perfect in everyway - it was comfortable and scenic. We enjoyed the kitchen area and use every room in the house to its fullest. Being able to see sunrise and sunset from the house was a bonus! And not to mention, the owners are very helpful and very welcoming.

Simply Spectacular!

Our family of six just finished spending two weeks at The Stonehouse, and to say it was perfection wouldn't begin to do this magnificent home justice. Some homes have breathtaking views, some have convenient locations, some have luxurious amenities, and some are warm and comfortable. The Stonehouse has it ALL. Do not hesitate, if you want a vacation of a lifetlime, you need to stay at The Stonehouse!

The most AMAZING house I have ever rented!

Where to begin? Everything about the Stonehouse is beyond amazing! As beautiful as the photos are they pale in comparison to the actual experience of being there in person. The setting is just perfection - if you want to be on the water... you are ON the water! We loved the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks or even during the calmer tides, the sound of the water lapping against the shore. You are surrounded by the ocean and the views cannot be beat! The sunsets are just insane and you have so many places to sit and enjoy them. The house itself is truly the nicest house i have ever rented - the architecture is magnificent and the interior design is not only impeccable but incredibly warm and inviting. We never felt like we couldn't relax or sit on a sofa because it was too precious. Ashley has done an amazing job of balancing high end design with welcoming ease and comfort. The house has EVERYTHING you could want or need and if you are someone who likes to cook like we are, the kitchen is nirvana! We stayed for a week and still didn't get to use all the rooms or spaces as much as we would have liked. It was so hard leaving but such an incredible family memory for us - one that we will have forever - thank you Ashley! And speaking of Ashley, she is so wonderful and easy to work with!! She really made our trip so special with all her thoughtful touches! If you ever have the chance to stay here, RUN don't walk to the Stonehouse - it will be the best spot for a vacation you could ever ask for!! We'll be back!!!!!

Uncompormised Quality

Each of the reviews on this site have captured the qualities that make the Stone House a five-star experience. At the risk of redundancy, virtually every aspect of this home makes a stay in it a memory that will be cherished and life-long. The home's picturesque location is a rarity among dozens of spectacularly stunning Kennebunkport homes. It sits poised on a slight incline behind a rock-filled shoreline that enhances the melodic sound of crashing waves. The professional landscaping must receive ongoing attention based on its pristine condition, beauty, perfect placement of lounge chairs facing the shore and sun, and use of materials that are indigenous to the area. The home itself, its furnishings, maintenance and appearance was even more impressive than the on-line photographs. Beauty is more easily captured in photographs but quality must be touched and seen in person to truly appreciate. This home is replete with quality. If it has not been featured in a home magazine, it should be. Given my love of cooking, I was blown away by the quality of the appliances, all of which are new (six-burner gas range, double wall ovens, Sub-Zero side-by-side that preschoolers could easily play inside, two refrigerator drawers inconspicuously tucked under the kitchen's massive island, a pantry with yet another smaller refrigerator, wine refrigerator, sink and serve ware to easily accommodate 12. In terms of cooking implements, the cabinets are filled with virtually everything needed to prepare a complex meal. The owners have generously stocked the pantry with tea, coffee, condiments and every paper product one needs. The kitchen's recent renovation and its multiple views from window-lined walls makes it simply the most functionally beautiful kitchen in which I have ever worked. The ocean views seamlessly continue from room to room including welcome surprises (third floor bathroom in particular) making the setting both a welcomed distraction and calming influence. The property maintenance also deserves its own five-star rating due to the impeccable cleaning that must be done regularly from the spot-free windows that blanketed each room, the immaculate hardwood floors, stair treads, towels and bedding. Bernie Sanders would say that a stay in this home can only be afforded by the top 1%. I would agree. However, its quality, beauty and uniqueness makes it a home in the top 1% in the country.

Extraordinary property

This is the quintessential Maine/Kennebunkport home. The house is in incredible condition and sits in an extraordinary location above the water. Comfortable, historic, and welcoming, we loved our week there. We had friends and family over for Thanksgiving, and the kitchen and utensils at the house we more than sufficient to create a wonderful meal. The housekeeper was fantastic and available for all our requests and needs, the owner was also extremely helpful and responsive. We'll be back!

A Perfect New England Beach Home!

We like to rent private homes when we vacation and have been privileged to stay in many throughout the world. It's not often we encounter one where the owner has so much love for the house...a fact that is obvious the moment you pull into the driveway at the Stonehouse! And it keeps getting better as you walk through the front door! Fabulous views, a lovely interior from top to bottom, and if you love to cook, you're gonna love the kitchen! A Perfect New England Beach Home! The owners are fantastic stewards and wonderful to do business with! If you stay here, please take good care, because I'm planning on coming back!

PERFECT VACATION!

A week at The Stonehouse is anything but ordinary, it's extraordinary!! The historic, charming, one of a kind home is everything you've ever hoped for in a home. Beautiful interior, exterior and grounds are so well kept. The home is newly renovated and very well decorated. It's warm, cozy and extremely comfortable, every room is just great. The house has everything you need. The views from EVERY room are a dream...it's hard to ever want to leave the house. Location, location, location...not sure there is a better one in Kennebunkport, it's truly spectacular. The owners are wonderful. They are very responsive and a true delight to work with...our questions were answered before we even asked them. This house is a must see and a dream come true!!

"Heaven On Earth"

Prior to arriving at The "Stonehouse," we had already admired this house during our previous visits to Kennebunkport. When deciding to rent we could hardly wait for our vacation to begin. This is not only a house, it is truly a HOME! From the moment of arrival, the welcoming feeling this home exudes is overwhelming. There is no reason to leave when on vacation here. The house is better in reality than the pictures can possibly show, from the unparalleled views, to the gourmet kitchen, to the spectacular location. From beginning to end, the owner was extremely responsive and helpful with numerous recommendations. This home is truly HEAVEN ON EARTH.

Beautiful

As we rounded a corner on Ocean Avenue and the Stonehouse came into view, we knew the house would not disappoint. From a distance appears to jut out into the ocean. The house exterior is fascinating, with huge stones from the coast making up part of the foundation. A recent addition blends seamlessly with the original house, and the landscaping is beautiful. The interior boasts gorgeous wood flooring, comfortable furnishings, and exudes New England character. Incredible ocean views are available throughout the house, and there are numerous sitting areas outside the house, both shaded and in the sun to take advantage of the view as well. I really enjoyed climbing the rocks right off the main floor deck down close to the water. Each bedroom has windows that open to the ocean; it was wonderful to drift off to sleep with the sound of waves crashing and the ocean breeze.

MEMORABLE!!!!!!

This is the kind of place you dream to go to, stay there, and maybe never leave. The STONEHOUSE is a one-of-a-kind property to wake up to 180 degree views of the water to us was magical and breathtaking. Upon entering the house, we sensed the pride and love the family/owners have taken in making this house a home. The description and pictures pale in comparison to being there and the smell of the fresh salt water air is so invigorating. The kitchen has everything under the sun any cook would need, especially if you are a gourmet cook. Did I mention the views?? There are a number of bedroom/bath combinations to choose from. The house was well maintained, very clean, with several sitting areas inside and outside for family gatherings or privacy for reading. Did I mention the views?? Contacting the owner was easy and follow up to any questions was done quickly. The area offers much for sightseeing and wonderful food, seafood. For thirty five years, when in Kennebunkport I'd drive by the STONEHOUSE never thinking I would ever stay for two weeks. It's only a matter of season before we return to this wonderful place, THE STONEHOUSE.

Extraordinary...

The most amazing home... the Stonehouse sits on top of the Atlantic with breathtaking views out of every window. The quality of the construction of the home, the design, details and amenities are second to none. The landscaping is impeccable. The owners are incredibly attentive and responsive but never intrusive. A truly spectacular home which exceeded all of our expectations.

Fantastic House

We have rented a number of Ocean front Homes in North America however this was my wife's all time favorite ! The description of the property was right on target and the photos reflected the exact appearance of the house today. My wife loves watching crashing waves and sleeping to the sound . The Stonehouse wins the award on crashing waves! The house was immaculate , state of the art and recently renovated. The house keeper met us at the house and taught us everything we needed to know to make our stay easy, she was wonderful to deal with. The owner answered every question I could come up with prior to arriving and was a pleasure through the entire experience including her restaurant recommendations which were right on. I was also extremely impressed with the fine dining experiences within minutes of the house. Just go to open table and you will see a number of great reviews including our favorite , Earth. I would highly recommend this property to a friend because it is only 30 minutes away from Portland airport which is a easy airport to go through and only 60 minutes of air time for us to visit.

Family Celebration

We spent a week at the Stonehouse to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. It was a moment that allowed my sister and I to reconnect with our Mom. The Stonehouse was soooo perfect for this. Comfortable, fully equipped (we're foodies and the kitchen is amazing !) beautifully decorated... all this right on the edge of the ocean. It was a magical moment stopped in time that we will cherish forever.

Wonderful week in Maine

My wife and I had a wonderful week at the Stonehouse. The temperature in July was hot, but the cool sea breezes could not have been more pleasant. The house has many outdoor seating areas, each with a panoramic view of the ocean, and we loved sitting outside watching the boats and the sea birds. And although Kennebunkport has many fine restaurants, it was almost impossible to find a reason to leave the Stonehouse, and we found ourselves making dinner and staying in almost every night. Inside, the house is extremely comfortable, with a very nice layout and enough bedrooms and privacy for even a large family gathering. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything that one might need, and the owner left a gift of local blueberries, jelly, and coffee, which was a treat and was very much appreciated. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their home. They have managed to preserve the charm of a Kennebunkport icon while updating every convenience to modern standards. Staying at the Stonehouse is a real pleasure and we hope to have the opportunity to stay there again in the future.

180 Degree Ocean Views Meticulously Updated with No "Stone " Left Unturned

The Stone House, as this property is called, is a landmark house in Kennebunkport. It is a wonderful 3 generation family home that has recently been updated to preserve it for the generations to come. The remodeled kitchen is fantastic. No item was overlooked with all new top of the line appliances, Viking stove, double ovens, Sub Zero fridge, including a quiet dishwasher. The kitchen also includes a fantastic breakfast eating area that became one of our favorite spots for watching the morning sun and wave action with coffee or afternoon tea. The bathrooms have all been remodeled with walk in showers and crisp new linens. There are new wood floors throughout the house that add polish to every room. Everything has been attended to in perfect detail yet it still remains family friendly and very comfortable. The master bedroom with it's attached deck has the comfiest bed ever. The waves below lulled us to sleep nightly. We were there for a family reunion week and did venture out but the house has the best views of any where we visited so we always found ourselves longing to come back. One of the most spectacular aspects of this house is the way the light plays all around it. There are morning light views, afternoon porch views, sunset watching views, and even rainy "Chowder" day views from the glassed in sun porch. We have been all up and down the coast of Maine but have never seen anything like this house. It is the best vacation house ever! We would highly recommend this property and can't wait to return.

Family vacation at the Stonehouse

Our family, including parents, grandparents, siblings and spouses all stayed at the Stonehouse for a week in late June. Over the last couple of years, we've stayed at other VRBO properties and this was the most relaxing, peaceful, scenic place of them all. There are spectacular views of the ocean, sailboats and lobster boats right off of the coast. Every night everyone enjoyed falling asleep to cool night breezes accompanied with the sounds of waves rushing against the landscape supporting the house. The owners were very easy to work with and quick to respond to questions regarding our stay. Everything we needed from cooking, recommendations for local restaurants/fresh seafood markets, spas and shopping they accommodated. As a traveler I would highly recommend this place to those looking to spend time together in a serene and beautiful environment. A week at the Stonehouse is well worth every penny. As you drive thru Kennebunkport and further down Ocean Ave. you quickly realize there's not a place you'd rather be on your vacation than the Stonehouse.

The week at the Stonehouse

The week in September that we spent at the Stonehouse was the best ever. The weather was incredible, and the house is always an experience all it's own. There is no better spot in New England.

A very special home by the sea!

Our extended family has made many memories in Kennebunkport, but none more special than those made during our stay at the Stonehouse. This is a signature property in Kennebunkport, one that is recognizable to anyone who has spent any amount time there. The views will take your breath away, and the outdoor spaces (there are many) are nicely furnished and equipped (great grill!). Kennebunkport offers many wonderful attractions, but I have to say that we were hard pressed to leave the back porch! This is a most special place---singular in it's location and design, possessing tremendous character and very obviously loved by generations of family members. The fresh sea breeze was a constant during our stay, and we all left the better for it. What's more, the sun porch, living room and bedrooms were extremely comfortable and nicely appointed, and there were plenty of places for our kids to play and explore. Our correspondence with the owners--to whom this home clearly means so much--was delightful. This is the quintessential home by the sea!

Spectacular experience perched on the craggy coast of Kennebunkport, Maine

For over 40 years, I have come to Maine every summer of my life. Every summer, I have driven by The Stonehouse. Every year, I have dreamed what it would be like to get to live here. Now I know! What a privilege! There is no better porch in the world. This is my favorite "room" in the house. Every morning I would steal away early with my book to soak up the view, the sound of the waves and the life on the water. When the hectic nature of life in San Francisco starts getting the better of me this fall and winter, I will close my eyes and remember these peaceful moments here on the edge of the Atlantic. What a privilege!!

This house has been in our family for 3 generations and hopefully will be for many more to come. We cherish this special home and will rent to a family who will feel the same way and will take care of it like it is their own. No parties! One week rental minimum.
