With this studio I love to create a home away from home for my guests. It's like a luxurious hotelroom with privacy. 2 min from Saguaro Natl. Park - East. Ideal for hiking, biking and birding. Just outside city limits, overlooking the city with desert and mountain views. Dark night skies, howling coyotes, hooting owls and occasional javelinas. Our host was absolutely lovely. She greeted us when we arrived and checked in each day to be sure we had ever needed. The studio had traces of her personality and exemplified her love for hosting. Beyond that-the amenities were absolutely outstanding. We didn’t want to leave!

I stayed at this enchanting casita in the Tucson area while in town to photograph a wedding at Tanque Verde Ranch, and it was the perfect little retreat. Tucked away in a peaceful spot surrounded by desert beauty, it felt like my own private oasis, quiet, cozy, and full of warmth and character.From the moment I arrived, I could tell how much care had been put into every detail. The space was spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Mornings were my favorite, waking up to the soft desert light and the stillness of the surroundings before heading off to shoot. In the evenings, I’d unwind on the patio, watching the sky fade into those breathtaking Tucson sunsets.The host was wonderful, welcoming, responsive, and made the entire experience effortless. This casita truly felt like a home away from home and gave me the perfect balance of rest and inspiration during a busy work weekend. If you’re looking for a peaceful, restorative place to stay near Tucson, I couldn’t recommend this hidden gem enough. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

The host Fredericka deserves more than 5 stars! She was so friendly and knowledgeable. Offered lots of great suggestions for the area. The rental was absolutely fabulous. It was clean, had snacks and drinks provided, the decorations were fun, the property was just perfect. It was right in the center of all the activities we wanted to do. Fredericka made us feel like friends instead of just travelers passing by. We will definitely stay here again and strongly encourage anyone else to stay here too. You won’t regret it.

Fantastic Place

We had a wonderful surprise by being greatly by the hostess and was delighted with how welcoming she was. The accommodations were better than the description and pictures online. Highly recommend and will definitely be staying there again.

We love this place so much!

This is our second year staying at the Damselfly and it was wonderful as always. Fredricka is very responsive and friendly. If you are a fan of nature and wildlife this is the spot for you. The bird-watching game is top notch . The wildlife and environment can't be beat!

Saguaro National Park stay

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The Damselfly studio was roomy, comfortably furnished and very pleasant. We were very close to the Park for hiking and within easy driving distance to restaurants. Fredericka was a very accommodating and friendly host. You will not be disappointed if you stay there!

Delightful

Hostess is amazing, and went above and beyond. She even supplied some snacks and drinks. Everything you could need was there. The Damselfly Studio was wonderful. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful! This was our third visit!

We enjoyed our previous visits so much that we booked a third stay! The property is so clean, calm and peaceful. Birds and other wildlife are just out the door. Frederika is an amazing host! We enjoyed chatting with her and she provided great recommendations on things to do and see in the area. The studio was perfectly appointed with little amenities to make our stay more comfortable. We plan to return next year!

Beauty, tranquility, and comfort

Damselfly was exactly as pictured on Vrbo. The room was decorated with lovely touches. The bed was very comfortable. The water pressure was great. The grounds are stunning and I wish we'd had more time to take advantage of the space and beauty of the property. We had lovely sunrises from our deck and if we sat quietly, the hummingbirds came and went to the feeder next to the deck. Our host Fredericka was great with communication at time of booking, before arrival, and on property. She showed us around the place and the grounds and was very welcoming. We appreciated the bottles of water and snacks that she left for us. Access to lots of nice sundries too. Property is on the east side and a good 20-30 minute drive from the more active parts of Tucson but we were there for the nature. It was dark and good for star-gazing. Close to the East Saguarago Nat'l Park and Sabino Canyons. We were also very close to the Pima Air and Space Museum, which was very cool. About a 40 minute drive to the West National Park. All parks and hiking were stunning. Damselfy was a wonderful place to call home and rest up in before the next day's adventure.So lucky we found this place and HIGHLY recommend.

Quiet spot near Tucson

We stayed 3 nights and found it to be very relaxing. Host was very pleasant and loaned me her new coffee press since I don't care for the Keurig. Wish the bed was larger. A queen would be have been perfect.

Lovely studio with beautiful views

The property, host, and location were great. The studio was clean and spacious. The property had great indoor and outdoor lounging spaces. Nice views of the mountains with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The host provided a perfect balance of welcoming availability while giving us space so enjoy our vacation. Highly recommend.

Excellent Experience

Comfortable, clean, nice deck and located within a very short drive to the Saguaro National Park entrance. The hostess was terrific. She met my car as I pulled in, and she was responsive whenever I needed to contact her. If you intend to cook, be aware that there is a fridge and microwave in the "kitchen" area, but no sink or stove. This was not a problem for me, as I mostly at out or had cold food that I brought in (sandwiches, cereal, etc.). I would stay here again without hesitation!

A perfect stay!

We enjoyed a wonderful 3-night stay in this quiet desert retreat. The place was spotless, and we found every amenity we might need for a studio stay. We loved the many seating areas, shared courtyard, and enjoyed watching the birds from the back deck. Frederika is a thoughtful host, and it’s obvious she has made the extra effort to make the studio a comfortable getaway. We loved it so much we ended up booking 2 more stays during our time in Tucson!

We love Tucson because of its artsy historic downtown, its renowned university and its friendly people with a relaxed atmosphere and refined, hip eateries. The beautiful weather and abundant nature. We had no idea the Sonoran desert could be this beautiful. That's what we like to share with our guests.

We chose this home because of its location on 8 acres on top of a knoll overlooking the Tucson valley. Moreover, because of the casita so beautiful we wanted it for ourselves! ;-)
