House is super close to the beach and had a lot of space. It accommodated our group well and was very convenient for walking to the beach. However the house was not cleaned really at all. When we arrived there was dog hair in the hall, sand and hair in the beds, dirty towels in every shower, sticky floors in the kitchen and crumbs on the counters. There was also no toilet paper or cleaning supplies in the house. Management was very nice when I called but overall I’m not sure of the messiness was outweighed by the benefits

Nice house, but it wasn’t cleaned upon arrival, which delayed our check-in. Housekeeping did arrive fairly quickly to address it. There were a few mechanical issues, including a shower door that didn’t work properly, a toilet that required a plunger to flush, and a broken upstairs railing. I notified Silversands so these could be addressed for future guests. Overall, the stay was okay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Several properties we have used have a book explaining electronics, think this would be a good idea.

Bring your own cleaning supplies and bug killer

Check-in email contained no codes for front door, golf cart, nor pool. It did have a code for the wi-fi, however that didn't work. Cockroaches were everywhere! We reported it with other issues via online reporting service, but I'm sure had we not followed up with a phone call and spoken to someone it would have never been addressed. They sent out pest control, but there were still so many roaches. We also requested bath mats for when we stepped out of shower (wet feet/tile floor, not a good combination), but we never received those. Hated to use our bath towels as a floor mat as there were exactly enough for all of us to have 1 towel (and we actually showed up with one less person than was on the reservation). Called and asked for pool code and wi-fi password and person answering phone was a little snarky to which I had to explain the only "code" in our welcome email was the wi-fi and it didn't work. For the price, I'm sure you could find a better or at least comparable property and with no roaches. Spoke with a few of the "neighbors" and they weren't reporting any issues with bugs/roaches. Neighborhood was great, golf cart was a little dated but it served its purpose and was a nice bonus. Beach time was absolutely fantastic.

While the accommodations where nice we did have issues with the property. One issue was the a/c unit, the management company did provide window units for the home. It appears that the home has had and is having a/c issues that need to be repaired. However, it was a nice weekend with the family!

Loved this house. Really loved the fact you could use the garage and it had two rooms on ground level. The kitchen was great as well. Loved the balcony and being able to set out there and watch everyone come and go. The loft upstairs was great for the kids. All together we will be renting this again.

This is our second time staying there and were very disappointed that we still had problems with the Wi-fi and then to top it off the grill and the keurig did not work so we had to go out and buy ground coffee for the other coffee makers. One can opener did not work. We finally found the other one after we had to open the first cans with a knife. All in all, we made it work but were still inconvenienced with these problems.

The house was okay for our weekend trip to Port A. Overall, we were happy with the size of the space. We were able to comfortably sleep 12 people. However, the house did not feel very clean and did not have very many towels. When we attempted to wash them in the washer and dryer the dryer would take several times to dry them.

Disappointed

We were disappointed that the Sol Searcher home was not clean.    The floors were disgustingly dirty. Our grandchildren's feet were black with dirt and grime. Even after someone came to clean the floors, they were still terrible. The mop and broom that we found at the house were worse. The mop stuck to the floor and there was an imprint of dirt in the pantry. The broom was old and full of dirt and dog hair. Unfortunately, we are not able to upload pictures of either of these.  We ended up buying a Swiffer and some other items to clean the tubs and showers. The shower door in the primary bedroom fell off the tracks several times.  We are not sure if this was an owner issue or the cleaning crew used by Property Management.

Amazing Stay and a great rental company

I came into Port Aransas for Memorial Day Weekend 2022 with a large group (19 people) from Austin. I booked two of Silver Sand's houses in Port A, both of which had multiple bedrooms and came with golf carts. I highly recommend Silver Sands! They have a huge number of rentals in Port A so there are a ton to choose from, and their customer service is outstanding. Both houses were clean, well organized, and well stocked, with good kitchen and bathroom supplies. Golf carts both worked well and were ready to go. SSVR has a service line you can call whenever you have a question; I spoke to them several times in the lead-up to the trip and once when the initial door code for one of the houses didn't work correctly when we first arrived. They were always extremely helpful, with either very short or no hold times at all; the agents on the phone were polite, knowledgable, and friendly. When we had the door code issue (which was the only hiccup of the weekend), the maintenance guy arrived in less than five minutes and reset the code for us. Will definitely be booking with them again for future stays! They made the entire weekend easy to plan, fun, and organized. Thank you!

Relaxing and Super Comfy

We had the most relaxing time at your house. Everything we needed was there. Super comfy beds and couches and chairs were amazing !!! The weekend was the best we've had in years there in Port A!!! Thank you for sharing your home!

Very poor customer service

One star only because the property itself was OK. Approximately a week after check out, I noticed a charge for "concierge services" added to my credit card. I contacted the office and was eventually told the charge was for the "upgraded golf cart" we ordered. Not only did we not have an upgraded golf cart, nor did we order one. the one we had was marginal at best. It took weeks trying to get the actual person claiming to have taken our order to respond. I had repeatedly indicated that no one in my family had contacted the concierge and requested an upgraded cart. No one could ever produce any information as to when the alleged conversation took place, the name of the person allegedly making the request or any specifics about the additional charge. The unauthorized charge was substantial....over $600 .... once there was an indication that the charge would be credited to my card, it took over a week for that to actually occur. At one point, when I called to find out why the credit had not yet been processed, I was told that the floors in the office were being redone and it would be a few days before anyone would have access. Wow.....not the kind of organization that deserves my business again.

I RENTED FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY AND NEXT DOOR TOO-(SUNNY&CHAIRS) I went to make up master bed after our 1st stay, and found hairs that weren't ours. They were very prompt to change and also all beds in house. AC was very cool during Labor Day weekend 21' Family were very comfortable and enjoy rides on Cart included. I gave a 4 star only because of the hair in master bed other than that everything was great! Will go again.

I purposely picked the end unit so we would not have someone right next to us, and ended up listening to construction instead. We also had to call and wait for service to have the router reset and propane delivered. We had a house full of young kids and had to cook dinner over 1.5 hours late. Finally, the downstairs shower was in poor shape. The shower head has extremely low pressure, and the sliding door fell on top of my seven year old. I would not recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Love the layout!

This thing just needs its own pool and we would be here year after year. If you’re good with stairs this place provided plenty of room for everyone. We put all the kiddos on the third floor loft, Perfect!

Great spot close to the beach

Listing was accurate and when we arrived it was everything the pictures portrayed. This was large enough for 7 adults, 2 teens and 2 kids. Quick walk to the beach and easy access to town with lots of options at dinner. Overall it was great and we will be back again.
