Adventure awaits! Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 5 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (25-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 30-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 45-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hungry and thirsty after a day of exploration? Visit the outstanding local restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee for not-to-be-missed tastes of local flavor.

We love the #lakelife around here as well as the majestic mountains. So much to do and see right in town. We have a handy Welcome Book in the house full of dining options, things to do, shopping, hiking and waterfall trails. Wineries with live music and wine tastings are plentiful. And just a short 25 mile drive to the Bavarian themed town of Helen for tubing or zip lining.

There are several excellent boat rental places in the area! We use Lake Chatuge Marine, Young Harris Water Sports, Boundary Waters... The fellas will help you out! All kinds of water toys too like jet skis, standup paddle boards and kayaks.

Hike or drive to the apex of Bell Mountain, which overlooks Lake Chatuge below and provides picturesque mountain views. Shooting Creek Overlook is breathtaking. Visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia. Jackrabbit Mountain and Chatuge Dam. Both Towns County (Hiawassee GA) and Clay County (Hayesville NC) have super parks and beaches. Trailheads of the Appalachian Trail, which spans from Georgia to Maine, are less than 10 miles from this home.




The road going into the Neighborhood is a flat one lane road with pull offs.
There is space for 2 cars directly in front of the house. Just past the house there is a vacant lot where a few more cars or a boat trailer can park.

This spacious 2200sq ft. home boasts cathedral ceilings in the living room with floor to ceiling windows so you can take in that mountain and lake view! The living area has a wood burning fireplace that makes for a cozy setting in the winter months. The kitchen has all you need and then some for that chef in the family. Have your meals at the dining table that seats 8 or take your meals out on the expansive deck. Enjoy your favorite book in the private book nook/office. Master bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed and ensuite bathroom with a walk -in shower.
Downstairs has another living area with big screen tv and mini fridge. 2nd bedroom is a queen room, the 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds., these rooms share a jack-and-jill bathroom with tub/shower combo.
There's also a twin sofa bed and a rollaway cot downstairs.
Enjoy one of the 2 decks, the bottom level deck is complete with an outdoor shower. and a bed swing.
