Come enjoy the peace and quiet of this secluded cottage. Get away from the rush of everyday life at and don't worry, no one will bother you here! Water accessible only.

Take advantage of the wonder that is Hedgehog Island.
Very special spot on private island, sandy cove, beautiful beach. Nice dock. Modern cottage with the conveniences of home

IMPORTANT! Please note: Access is by water only.

If you have your own boat there is ample dock space to park it. Otherwise boat rentals as well as water taxi service is available at the two marinas in Charleston Village: Kelsey’s Marina and Lake Line Lodge. Some people come by canoe or kayak. It is a 2 mile paddle from the Provincial Park. Kayaks and Canoes are available for rent at the Charleston Lake Provencial Park.

Great time

Ideal for seasoned campers with family wanting to relax or do some fishing, enjoyed the private beach, the park trails, the island trails and the picturesque view from the cottage...thank you for sharing your wonderfull facilities

Another wonderful stay!

This was our second visit to Hedgehog Island and we had another fantastic time. My wife and I parked our vehicle at the Provincial Park boat launch and paddled to the island in our sit-on-top kayaks with enough supplies for the week - it took at 30 minutes. The location is amazing and there is no shortage of things to do - hiking, swimming, kayaking, 'hammocking'... :-) We hope to be back next year!!!

Fantastic facilities at the quiet end of the

This location has all the modern conveniences, Dishwasher, internet, microwave, cooktop with full oven, along with hot and cold running water and generous dimensions in the open concept main room. We enjoyed the small beach and the rock point that form part of the private bay on the property. The dock was large enough for one boat and in reasonable shape and worked well for us the week. The location is opposite the provincial park which includes canoe and kayak access only so very few boats, just the occasional people fishing which left us lots of room for tubing and entertaining the kids. We enjoyed the breezes and the screened windows that brought the outside in while keeping rain and bugs away. We caught a couple of fish from the rock point but too small to keep. A great week and we would do it again!

Exceptional place for nature lovers

We have spent one week on the island and enjoyed every day. Do a lot of kayaking, hiking and swimming. Thank you Warren for letting us stay there.

Beautiful spot

Beautiful spot, nice cottage. We arrived and the previous people did not clean at all, so that was a bit disappointing. A list of items to bring prior to rental would be appreciated as not everything you need is supplied (garbage begs, toilet paper, paper towel etc). Also a list of this to clean before you leave is needed for some people as previous people must have assumed someone else was going to do it. We enjoyed our week on the island. Would recommend this cottage.

Peaceful Nature Paradise

My husband and I had the most relaxing two weeks at this cottage. It is exactly as described. A perfect mix of private Canadian nature and every amenity you could need. We really appreciated the well equipped kitchen and ability to wash linens on site. We had a couple of storm related questions and the owner was very responsive and helpful. He was so lovely that we wanted to help and did some gardening, cleared some trees off paths etc. So much fun! We brought our kayaks and explored the lake and nearby trails every day. It is so close to the park, that there many opportunites for day hikes. It was beautiful to kayak around the many islands on the lake. We usually try something new each year but this time, I think we'll come back. I was sad to leave. Highly recommended.

Awesome property

This is a beautiful, understated property. It needs care from both the property owner and the renter. I was amazed by the location. So tranquil. More info about renting a pontoon boat in advance would have been helpful. And the marina would appreciate it. Also a printed version in the house of the ‘closing up’ expectations. For clarity. I vacuumed when I got there. But just pine needles. No biggy. They keep dropping… And the bathroom faucet was just a dribble. I tried to adjust the tap but … Otherwise water pressure was good. Such a gorgeous location. Thanks for letting us stay there

On the island,

Great place to relax, and enjoy the incredible island and surrounding Provincial Park . Fishing was terrific, WiFi was great and very reliable. If you know how to chill and enjoy nature its a special spot. Warren was a great help and a joy to talk with.

Island retreat

My family and I enjoyed the island - hiking trail is beautiful and the water views are excellent. Cottage and dock need some TLC and some appliances need updating (vacuum, kettle, coffee maker, etc). Overall had a great time and enjoyed the peace and privacy of island life. We would return again but try and obtain kayaks/canoes to have another source of entertainment and to enjoy the beautiful islands. Difficult to bring these items for a family of four.

Fantastic getaway!

We spent an incredible week on the island - fishing, swimming, kayaking, relaxing and watching incredible sunsets 🌇. A more perfect setting in nature would be tough to find. Just what we needed 😌. Thank you Warren.

Quiet and comfortable

The scenery is very beautiful, we had a good time. There are snakes in the forest, they aren’t poisonous,but just letting people know.

Beautiful area

Loved the lake and area in general. Great place to kayak or go out in a boat though not so much to be in the cottage itself or the little bay. The place needs some TLC and a deep clean but worked well for a short stay. Make sure to bring water shoes.

Peace and quiet

What a wonderful place! So peaceful and quiet. On hot days you get a wonderful breeze. Having brought our kayaks was well worth it, Charleston lake has many islands to loop around. The cottage was very clean and has everything you need. Having your own little private beach is an added plus. It is a place we would go back, we strongly recommend!

Magnificent island location on stunning Charleston Lake

The cottage is very private, with your own swimming cove. You have your own island to explore, and are surrounded by beautiful park property an easy paddle away. The friendly owner lives a 10-minute walk away. The beauty of the area, and location couldn't get any better!

This property was incredible! It checked off all of our boxes, and even the boxes we didn't anticipate. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I would stay there again next time I'm in the area.
