The cabin was beautiful, very quiet and peaceful, some of the written rules on the fridge conflict with some of the rules that were e-mailed by owner, no big problem, just an oversight. Deserves a 5.

My first experience.

I was a little nervous to rent someone else’s home at first. They made this entire process as smooth as possible. I knew what to expect from the beginning. This property is as gorgeous as the pictures. They had lots of amenities to make this experience very family oriented. My only bit of advice for the next renters is to take a screenshot of the internet password and door lock code prior to going to the house. When we pulled up, I thought I would be able to open my messages to retrieve the information but without internet access then I wasn’t able to. I had to drive into Cloudcroft so that I could get internet to retrieve the information. So silly on my part but I didn’t think about that until it was too late. This was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend this property!!

Peaceful

Very beautiful house, in a great and quiet neighborhood, so relaxing and peaceful. It was fun, its still really pretty in cloudcroft. Didnt see much wildlife was the only downside, and the kingsize bed did not sleep comfortably, it was wore out on one side really bad.

Perfect fit

Beautiful location for our family to stay for the wedding of friends nearby! Very spacious and quiet. Teenagers enjoyed the variety of things to do at the lodge. You won’t be disappointed if you select Mystic Woodlands Lodge!

Excellent Family Location

We've stayed in a few different locations in Cloudcroft over the years, and this has to be the best. For a family of 6 wanting something somewhat secluded, this was the perfect place. Even though there were house close by, the neighborhood was extra quiet. We will hopefully be back to this spot again soon!

Michael: My wife, Emily, and I love to travel, experience other cultures, meet new people, see new places and have adventures. We have 3 grown children, 2 of whom have college degrees in French and Linguistics while the other has a degree in Biology. My wife and I have studied French, Italian and a little German. We come from Texas, but my wife and I lived 2 years in northern Italy (Arona! Right on Lago Maggiore!) for my job, and then 2 more years in the east of England (Dereham, near Norwich). I am a recently retired Senior Staff Research Scientist, and my wife is a retired schoolteacher (5th-grade science). We own 2 short-term rental properties in Cloudcroft, New Mexico, and 3 possibilities for reservations — this one (Mystic Woodlands Lodge) sleeps 8 guests when the Bear Room is locked (9 beds) in Mystic Forest Lodge; and another one that sleeps 6 to 8 (Mystic Mountain Lodge). We love people and we love making people feel at home.

Emily: I am a retired science teacher living in Texas. I have an Etsy business that keeps me busy (etsy.com/shop/EmsItalianGems)! My husband, Michael, and I love to travel and stay in short-term rentals. Though we are both retired, we are kept quite busy hosting our wonderful guests at Mystic Woodlands Lodge, Mystic Forest Lodge and Mystic Mountain Lodge. We are really enjoying this new adventure!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We were looking for a cabin in the quaint little village of Cloudcroft when we discovered this chalet. We wanted a place of our own in the beauty of these mountains, as well as the access from the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and to the Grand Canyon and beyond. This chalet was the perfect fit for our frequent escapes to Cloudcroft as well as trips through Cloudcroft to other places. And it made a perfect vacation rental to help support us in our adventures. Similar to our other mountain cabin in the area, Mystic Mountain Lodge, the majesty of the wildlife around the chalet, the mystique of the wind blowing through the forest, the intrigue of the clouds flying too low and getting caught in the trees, the beauty of the sunrise filtering through the woods on crisp mornings, and the awesomeness of the Milky Way stretching overhead at night with billions of stars gleaming in unmatched brightness against the darkest sky, inspires a sense of mystery, awe and fascination. This is why we had to name our new home Mystic Woodlands Lodge. If you need more room (up to 15 guests!), we can open the Bear Room with 9 more beds. We call the larger listing Mystic Forest Lodge.

A somewhat remote, yet very accessible location very near to the village of Cloudcroft, Mystic Woodlands Lodge offers very spacious accommodations for up to 8 guests (remember, infants are precious guests, too), and plenty to do with family meals, pool, movies and games. When you are finished exploring Cloudcroft, White Sands National Moment, or the more than 80 trails through these beautiful mountains, and the night has just gotten so dark, you can come settle in for family night with movies and games, or just relax outside on two large decks with your loved ones.
