Welcome to Longview! This super cute beach cottage just received a total facelift! Check out the photos to see the transformation.

When your vacation plans don't allow for a full week or if your group will be on the smaller side, then Longview might be the perfect fit! This adorable cottage is located in desirable Surfside Shores. This quiet community offers access to the beautiful white sand, pet friendly beaches. And Longview offers the perfect alternative for those guests that choose to travel with their dog since most condos are not pet friendly.

You will fall in love with this storybook beach house. Beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated, it truly is everything you wish for in a beach vacation. You are close to the beach but the home sits on a large lot on a quiet street, so you'll have the best of both worlds.

The Space

The furnishings are calming and welcoming, inviting you take off your shoes and stay awhile. There are two bedrooms and two full baths. The first bedroom has a Queen bed and the second has one Full and one Twin. There is also a sleeper sofa in the comfy living room, bringing the sleep count to 7.

The updated kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and a conveniently located washer and dryer. And it is equipped with all you'll need to prepare tasty meals at home should you choose to dine in.

* Renter must be at least 25 years of age. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Surfside and Fort Morgan

Located a scenic 15 miles from Gulf Shores, you'll find everything you need close at hand. Dollar General and Sassy Bass Market are just a few miles away and have all the basics you might need. There are several restaurants nearby offering a variety of tasty dishes. Tacky Jack's, Sassy Bass (2 locations), Coast and brand-new Jesse's (opening soon) to name a few. Some venues even offer live, local entertainment.

Fort Morgan fishing pier is now open, and anglers will have access to convenient inshore fishing and the abundant species locally available.

Be sure and visit nearby Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge with over 7,000 acres of coastal habit. You'll be able to hike through the preserve and observe local flora and fauna. There are 4 trails, varying in size and terrain and you'll definitely want to make time to visit this natural oasis.

Longview Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Longview was a good fit for our vacation plan, which included two dogs. The house was clean and comfortable. It was stocked with everything we needed. Getting to the beach every day did require some coordination since only golf carts were allowed to park at the beach access point. It was a minor inconvenience. Folks planning to carry a lot to the beach might consider renting a golf cart for the stay. It was nice having a fenced area for the dogs.

Property was as advertised. Overall very clean and well maintained. Fenced yard was perfect for the dogs to enjoy the area without worrying about their safety. The beds were very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, and pans.

The owners did a fantastic job of fitting in as much as possible into the space available. Beautiful job. Super cute. The beach access was accurately described, I just missed it, so just know it is a short 10-15 min walk to the beach access. We bring our folding electric bikes and beach wagons with us so we had no issues at all. I walked it one day as well and it did not take more than the 10-15 min depending on how much you are hauling with you.The house is nice and cool, everything you need is there including a fun small beverage fridge. TOP billing goes to Coastal Vacations for their communication, kindness and total availability. The washer broke down the first day we did laundry which I think was day 2. We didn't expect the issue to be resovled during our stay bc the washer/dryer had to be replaced. BUT the owner came through and bought a new one and ALAN, appliance and HVAC gentleman who works with Coastal, found out a new one could be delivered several days early so he said yes to the delivery crew and a new washer/dryer showed up! Great work and so much appreciated!! The gals at Coastal also dropped off a full extra load of towels in between so we could have a clean towels.Lastly, Trenara (sp?) I hope I got that right, was BEYOND kind and helpful on checkout day. I won't go into detail but she was kind and caring and I just appreciate her and all the staff at that company. We love Fort Morgan and recommend this unit and Coastal vacations!

Absolutely loved it. Smaller than it looks in the pictures, and when i went to pull out the sleeper it was dirty and and had crumbs all in it. Also no extra blankets werr made available for the sleeper sofa.

Beautiful place

We pulled a boat down to fish, plenty of room for it. Comfy beds and hot showers was great. We will be back for sure!

Long weekend get-a-way

Cozy and cute beach cottage, great location with a short walk to the beach. Love the neighborhood. The fenced yard was a huge bonus for our dogs. Communications with property manager was easy! We had an unplanned extended stay and the property manager worked with us and it worked out great. Great rental overall and specially if you are traveling with dogs. Would recommend

Nice but could use a few touch ups.

We had a great time as usual. Some of the small appliances need replaced. A few things around the house needed repair, ceilings needed painted, top steps of both decks would be a little sketchy for older folks and the back yard fence was not dog safe in a couple places. A few of the baking dishes that were stored in the oven werent washed, but overall it was decent for the price.

Great, quiet neighborhood with house needing a little fixing to the roof and backyard cleanup.

We stayed for an entire week and absolutely loved the location. It is a very quiet neighborhood and the beach was never packed. It was about a 10 minute leisurely walk to the beach access point which we enjoyed for our dogs especially. The backyard could definitely use a good cleanup however as there is an old moldy hammock, I am also 5'8" and had to duck throughout 3/4 of the backyard due to low limbs. I hit my head multiple times on low branches while letting the dogs out. The backyard is also full of a certain tree that is known to be poisonous for dogs if ingested so be careful with that. Our golden also found what I believe was rabbit poop and he was vomiting for a whole day which was unfortunate. Also the last day it rained heavily and the roof leaked causing us to put a bucket in the living room. Overall we really enjoyed our time in the house! I wouldn't recommend any more than 2 adults and a couple kids however because it is a really small house.

2024 BEACH TRIP

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was nice.It looked clean, but you could tell it needed a good cleaning.I was very disappointed that I wasn't told ahead of time about the lock on the door.We slept there and left our dog there for 2 days and nights, assuming that the door locked automatically when you shut it.I had no idea that you had to turn the deadbolt lock until you heard a little noise and that would lock the door.I was totally IN shock when my grandson tested the door and it was unlocked. I then had to call and ask about the lock, she then explained how it locked. For it to be a pet friendly house. I feel like the backyard should be mowed. It was terrible there to take the dog out.The 1st 2 stairs going down are slanted downwards, I felt that was dangerous. Also, the bottles of hand soap needed replaced. Not left with some water added to stretch them further, that should have been used elsewhere, not in a rental that I paid 2000.00 + to stay in.

Fantastic!

Great stay- cute, clean and sunny! Nice, quiet neighborhood and a short walk to the beach (would recommend a golf cart if not used to walking or have lots of stuff.) Fenced in yard for our furry friends was a bonus! Kitchen had everything we needed. Communication with property manager was easy. Neighbor was super friendly! Fit our family of four perfect. Would recommend!

It was not the most convenient location to beach so if you are hauling a lot to beach, would recommend getting a golf cart since you can’t park a car near beach access. One thing that might make this house more inviting to future guests would be to clean up the outdoor area. Lots of items that just need to be thrown away-broken hammock, gas firepit, multiple beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. that I’m guessing previous guests left behind. Overall, would recommend!

Please come up with a better idea for the shower curtains. It’s difficult to shower while being attacked by the curtains! Allison is lovely and very attentive.

Love this Location

This is our 4th year coming to Fort Morgan for the winter. We love this location, the neighborhood is quiet, we enjoy walking the neighborhood, I play Kiva Dune golf course while here so this location is ideal for us, plus we like to be away from the Gulf Shores crowds, but with a short 15 min drive we can spend the day there too. The Property Manager was excellent! We work remotely and when we first arrived, we had slow wifi, but she got on the phone with the service provider and got the situation resolved very quickly, outstanding job! When we booked, a huge plus was the fenced in yard to let our dogs out. Our only "negative" and it's really nothing major, was the fenced in area does need a little "tightening up". Our dogs did get out once, we're still not sure how or where, but there are a few spots where the fence is a bit loose. Nothing that would stop us from re-booking the house. The size for (2) people was perfect, I would not want to have more than (2) adults here though. The second bedroom for smaller kids would be fine, but as an adult I think it would be less desirable. All-in-all a great house for us and again the property manager was excellent.

Great place for travelers with dogs

Enjoyed our first visit to the Gulf Shores area. The dog-friendly beach and the fenced yard made the trip very convenient for our dogs. The property manager was very helpful and responsive in resolving several minor issues.

nice little beach cottage

A quaint little beach cottage - ideal for two people for a long weekend. the proximity to the beach is nice but the beach access is more centrally located in the neighborhood so we rented a golf cart to make our commute a little easier. The property was clean and manager was quick to respond to all of our questions/needs throughout our stay. The kitchen could use some updated cookware/knives. The back door with doggie door was not operable at the time of our stay but manager said they were aware and were working on getting it repaired. wasn't a huge deal for us. overall, nice place for the price.

Gulf visit Oct 2023

The house was somewhat smaller than it appeared in the listing but was very comfortable. The storm door to the back deck needs repair and if the wind caught and slammed it we could not open it from the inside as the handle was not attached. I do think the air conditioner needs attention. On the couple of days that it was in the upper 70's this house became quite warm and stuffy and the unit did not seem to be able to cool the house. Thanks for your efforts on the updates. The work you put in is nice
