Everything was comfortable and perfect for a relaxing weekend. The family enjoyed the pool and ping pong table. Plenty of room for everyone to enjoy. We also enjoyed the family history displayed inside the home.

Perfectly located close to Garner State Park. Easily accommodated our family of 13. We loved the history of the home. The night sky view was incredible! Lots of room to spread out for our family. Kitchen well equipped. Beds comfortable. We hope to visit this property again next year.

Our Stay at the Blue Bird house

We had an amazing stay! We were there celebrating my Bachelorette party! I used to go to Garner with my family every summer as a kid and this place brought back so many memories, and we got to make so many new ones! My only note, they do not provide any shampoo, conditioner, towels, hand soap and only two trash bags, but other than that we had a 10/10 time and would stay again!!

Family Vacation

Great place with plenty to experience. Close to the Frio and Nueces River for tube floating. The pool, hottub and interesting artifacts are really neat. Our large family love it and will definitely book again!!

Totally relaxing vacation

Our family arrived from 4 different Texas cities. Check in was trouble free. Two fridges allowed space for everyone's favorite foods and beverages. There we so many spots to set up activities for two or seven! The pool was so relaxing. Hummingbird watching with morning coffee was great. Easy access to Garner State Park and river. We hated to leave.

Our favorite place so far!

We’ve been vacationing at the Frio for years now, and this was our favorite place to stay by far! We love that it’s off the beaten path, and honestly, we only left to go to the river once the entire stay. The hiking trail was fun and perfect for taking the kids on. The entire place was just so beautiful and relaxing! We’ll definitely be back!

Our stay at Bluebird Hill was fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and all of the nature around us. So many beautiful birds all around the house. The pool was amazing as well. We definitely will be back.

Home Away From Home

This house is by far the best with all the special homey touches and very clean. Well supplied kitchen too. Mostly, the owners response time to any questions or requests was at the top of the list of accommodations. Our teens loved the pool and ping pong table after the river trips. We enjoyed the spa at night under the starlit sky. Stop scrolling and book Bluebird!! You won’t be disappointed!!

Peaceful Getaway

The house was awesome, plenty of room for 12 adults. Would be a nice getaway for a family gathering. Nice yard. I seen quite a few hummingbirds (my favorite). The house was easy to find, paved roads and not too far from town. I would definitely stay there again.

We had a great time staying at this charming, secluded property near Garner State Park. The pool area and hot tub were perfect for relaxing with the family. The house itself is full of character, with unique artifacts and historical archives that give it a really special feel.We did have a brief issue with the running water, but Leann was incredibly responsive—she personally delivered water within 30 minutes and had the issue fully resolved in about an hour. Her kindness and quick action really made a difference and allowed us to enjoy the rest of our stay worry-free.We would definitely stay again!

Great Thanksgiving getaway

We, our kids and grandkids had the best time ever hiking through the trails, enjoying the colorful foliage and nature, spotting tracks and being startled by a buck while taking some sunset pictures. The home was great for our huge family and very interesting collections of all sort. We didn’t use the pool, but a few weathered it and enjoyed the hot tub one evening. We are definitely looking forward to coming back soon!

Birthday weekend

I wanted a quiet and relaxing weekend with some family for my husbands bday. We got that and much more. Not only was it beautiful and quiet, it was full If history. There were old news paper clippings, sign in books, cook books, and so much more. We are planning on going again. The pool and hot tub were fantastic as well.

LeAnn Garrison owns promotes and leads Hill Country Adventure Tours since 1999. She was the Vice President of the Texas Bluebird Society from 2003 thru 2010.
LeAnn teaches Bluebird & Other Small Cavity Nesting Bird Programs for Schools, Nature Centers, Civic Clubs, Master Naturalist and Audubon meetings.
She leads Bluebird Trail tours and is a nature interpreter.
LeAnn created and runs Hill Country Adventures Nature Center & Tours and manages her family’s Indian Blanket Ranch. She has been in the lodging business renting out private vacation homes and cabins along the Frio River and Utopia area since 1987, and in the Nature Tourism business since 1999.
