Top notch VRBO experience. Booking and communication was great. Beautiful home as good incredible as advertised (actually better - the pics in winter do not do this place justice). Very well appointed - had all the plates, cooking essentials etc that we needed. Bedding, towels, etc was plentiful and very good quality. Even the shampoo and soaps were great. Truly no notes on how this could’ve been better. Will likely stay again in the future.

This house provided a great home base for our North Shore adventures. Beautiful view and the home was immaculate. The host was very responsive and provided two local contacts for our stay. We traveled with small children and the large bedroom upstairs was perfect for them. The kitchen was also great for cooking meals for a crowd. Public entry to the lake is actually a mile or so down the road, which is not really walkable, but that was not a deal breaker for us. Beautiful place and great location!

We had 4 couples that wanted to go ATVing around Duluth. We found this home and it was perfect for the 8 of us. After coming back from our ATV rides, we’d enjoy a cocktail and the beautiful view on the deck. Recommend it, it’s a beautiful get away!

My family stayed here for our summer North Shore trip - 8 adults total. This house was a destination in itself with great views and enough space for all of us. The kitchen is lovely - it was fun to cook our meals in between hiking at the nearby state parks (Tettigouche, Split Rock, and Gooseberry which are some of the best states parks in the USA), walking the beaches of Lake Superior, and fishing on Lax Lake. The living space was spacious for hanging out and playing board games in the evening. The house is fairly new and definitely the cleanest vacation rental we have stayed in. Great memories were made here!

Fourth of July week!

We had an amazing vacation with a beautiful view of the lake. This home is more beautiful than the pictures. Such a great location to make it to the many state parks that the north shore has to offer. We really enjoyed the beauty at Black beach which was just a short drive away. LAX Lake was great for fishing and tubing! Terry was great with communication during our stay, and we left with great memories! The kids are already asking to go back!

Our family of five adults and two children (ages 8 and 3) enjoyed this beautiful home as we explored the North Shore area. The home was immaculate with plenty of room for our family to play, relax and prepare meals together. The view is beautiful and the home is equipped with everything we needed. More beautiful than we imagined

Spectacular house on an incredibly beautiful site. Thousands of stars at night, and each morning watching the sunrise brighten the colors of Lax Lake. Short drive to great hiking trails, then back to the wonderful chalet for a glass of wine (or two :-) in front of the stone fireplace. If a Dr wrote a prescription for relaxation it would say: “ The house at Lax Lake.”

Beautiful home with a beautiful view

This home is so beautiful. It felt like home as soon as I drove up to the top of the driveway and saw the beautiful view. The inside was comfortable and clean. With the wall of windows, you can still enjoy the outside while being inside. This is a perfect place to recharge and with it being so close to trails, the perfect place to do some activities as well! Terry, the manager, was very responsive and available, making sure I had what I needed. Highly recommend this wonderful home!

We stayed here the end of September to go ATVing and enjoy the fall colors. This home is just gorgeous, so clean, the furniture and beds were so comfortable. Plenty of towels and everything we needed to cook our meals. We could access the trails right from the driveway. We enjoyed the inside and outside fireplace. Great to sit outside by the fire and have a glass of wine after a long day of riding. And the view.... wow spectacular! Terry was great to communicate with. Checked in everyday to ask if we needed anything, always responding immediately with us. Will definitely be coming back to enjoy another time.

Amazing home with a spectacular view

This property certainly has a WOW factor. As soon as we drove up, we were blown away at the amazing view over Lax Lake and the rolling hills. All of the living spaces were large and very comfortable. Within 15 min of Tettegouche Visitor Center with plenty of trails to hike. This feels secluded and off the map with only being a short drive from Hwy 61. I can only imagine what the fall colors would look like here. Everything went smoothly and I didn’t have to worry about anything. Very impressed with this place and their attention to detail. Thank you for such a great long weekend!

Perfection!

Everything was beyond perfect! Marvelous view through extra large windows, luxurious beds and linens, brand new feeling to everything, gourmet kitchen which we took full advantage of! We ended up getting snowed/sleeted in, so no skiing or hiking, but what a perfect place to spend 48 hours with beloved friends and family celebrating a 70th birthday. We ate, played games, talked and laughed at the comfortable dining table and on the comfy couches and chairs in front of the fireplace . Very comfortable with 7 people. Plenty of seating. They even had a lovely, live, decorated Christmas tree, tasteful decorations and a live Christmas centerpiece on the dining table. I'd give this place a 10! Thank you for giving us such a lovely backdrop to create more memories with out of state family! Greatly appreciated!

Lax Lake View Retreat is an incredible home that was perfect for our family. The view has to be experienced in person to truly understand how wonderful this property is. The home was thoughtfully designed, our family felt quite spoiled! There is plenty of room for people to have privacy, as well as a great floorplan to bring the family together to enjoy a meal and conversation. Not only does the kitchen boast that incredible view, it was well stocked with all the necessities to prepare meals which we greatly appreciated. The host, Terry, was incredible, checking in on us (via text) and addressing our needs. We had such a great experience, and hope to be back to visit. The North shore of Minnesota is such a special place, it felt even more special staying at this amazing property. Thank you!
