Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a good week that we hoped would be a great week! The house was fine but needed a lot of work. Easy to see it's been neglected! The door to the deck needs replacing and the kids could not open it at all as it bound on the floor. Every time a kid wanted in or out, an adult had to help them. Rain also pushed in on the floor in that entire corner. Lots of light switches and in some cases fans didn't work as expected. Some light switches we never figured out what they worked. Furniture & furnishings all look like they came from garage sales or flea markets after years of use. In OK shape that's all. All in all this location at these prices one SHOULD expect more. Especially compared to other places we've stayed at on IOP.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the sixth time we have stayed in this house. We absolutely love the location and the house. Very convenient to everything. The kitchen was remodeled a couple of years ago. That was a nice surprise. Now some other things could use attention. The back door knob barely works and the gate off of the deck need some repairs.All in all it is a great property and Island Realty does a good job with the reservations. We will probably stay there again next year.

Property needs work

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this house two years ago and we were happy. Between then and now this home needs updates. Most all the items in the kitchen had to be rewashed. Food on-dishes and cups. Our back doorknob was broken when we walked in. The full house needs painting, carpets are dirty, apostrophe dirty, broken chair on the deck. These are expensive homes for one week rentals and should be clean and safe. We never felt air coming from duct work in bedrooms. We called maintenance twice and they did respond quickly. But work could not be replaced, just doorknob screwed back on.. we reposted the electrical work last time but no updates were completed. We love the location but the owners need to update this property. Parts are a liability.

Another family member rented a house two doors down that had been recently renovated and was much cleaner for about the same price. Overall the house had plenty of space for a large family.

This year however, the house was not very clean. There were toothpaste marks on the counter in the bathroom. The kids (30 years old) mentioned that their bathrooms were not very clean. Lots of knives but could not find a sharp knife in the bunch.

Beautiful views, equipped kitchen, house had some mold issues

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location, views, beach access, fully equipped kitchen, and general layout of the house. It was also nicely cleaned before our arrival. However, there was a very strong mildew and mold smell in the house and visible mold growing on the bathroom ceiling, around several AC vents, along the top of the windowsill in the living room, the upstairs forward facing bedroom has a squishy wall under the windows, etc. The kitchen had an extremely strong mildew smell and visible old water damage near the dishwasher. I took some pictures that I will send to Island Realty so they can hopefully address it for future guests. Other than being concerned about the safety of breathing in the air, it was a wonderful vacation.

Great Vacation

We were happily surprised that during the past year the kitchen has been remodeled. But the location is fantastic. Just steps to the sandy beaches of Isle of Palms. And a twenty minute drive to downtown Charleston.
