Upon entering, you are greeted by an expansive open-concept living area that boasts panoramic views of the river. This property was fantastic! We visited during Thanksgiving week using this home as the destination for our children and grandchildren. The home is well appointed and has plenty of space. The sunset views are magnificent! Also, the TVs and Audio Systems are incredible! We didn't use the 3 kayaks, but the bikes worked great. The area is good for walking, with fishing piers and boat launches within 3/4 of a mile! You definitely won't go wrong at the Piney Point Beach House! I can't imagine what it would be like in the summertime when the pool is usable! Five stars!!

A broken deck umbrella was hugely disappointing considering how good the weather was. And there should be at least two umbrellas on a deck that large for those of us lounging. And why only two lounges chairs? The umbrella at the table was fine. Only one pool float????? Grounds were well maintained. Beach access was good. Overall, the house is lovely and had many fine touches. Could use a dock to sit out onto the water if you arent a kayaker. Nice place.

Great Family Get-Away

This beautiful home was used for our family vacation of 6 adults/6 children. No one has 1 complaint! Plenty of parking for our 3 cars with space for more. The outside of the house/yard was immaculate. Once inside, we felt at home. The open floor design was perfect for us. The seating in the TV room, the living room, at the dining table and around the kitchen island provided more than enough seating for everyone. The exercise/game room was perfect for the few who exercised and to help keep the kids entertained. The kitchen was WELL stocked with everything (and more) of the items we were all accustomed to using. The refrigerator/freezer was large enough to accommodate everyone’s individual items. The individual bedroom spaces were perfect for the 2 couples & 2 single people in our group. And, we couldn’t have asked for a better room for the kids! The full size bunk bed, the trundle bed and 2 cots provided plenty of sleeping space for the kids. But, wait..there’s more! Out back, the deck/pool/yard/beach gave our family days of complete joy & relaxation! The outside bar area by the pool was great for holding drinks & snacks. The outside grill was large enough to grill burgers/dogs/brats for everyone all at the same time. The backyard was beautiful with manicured grass/flowers/shade trees. The hammock was used daily. The beach was a daily walk looking for shells/sea glass. The location was not too far from major stores. I can’t recommend this home enough!

Amazing Property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Piney Point. The house is beautiful and fully stocked from the kitchen, to towels and linens, cleaning supplies, and even a gym and activities. Amazing views and just steps away from the beach you can fish off of. The pool is the highlight of the house. We have young kids so it was not too deep and the outdoor shower and direct bathroom access was so convenient. There are also speakers throughout the house and outside. The kitchen is fully stocked with multiple fridges (drink and wine) and an ice machine as well. The neighborhood is not quite as nice as the house but we didn’t leave the property so it was fine. The property manager was extremely helpful and responded promptly every time. She was even willing to come and connect the hose while we were there. Overall a beautiful property and enjoyable stay.

Relaxing and lots of fun

Everyone especially loved the pool. It was the go to place in the afternoon and later in the day. There were also games provided that we enjoyed. The kitchen had everything available that we needed for some baking and dinner preparation. There were stores about 20 minutes away to satisfy our shopping needs and some were new to us. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Beautiful view!

We enjoyed staying here so much! We wanted a vacation where we could relax and do "nothin'". It was perfect. We had breakfast on the deck, swam, read, and just sat enjoying the view. Lots of birds keep busy along the Potomac, like Ospreys. The house is modern but cozy. The high ceilings provide a very open, relaxing living area. I am a cold pool wimp so very wary of unheated pools, but after two days of sunshine on the pool, the water was like bathwater and we were able to use it like it was heated. Piney Point does not have chain restaurants or stores but that was kind of refreshing. The Ruddy Duck is a great restaurant with great views. Captain Pat's was the site of our favorite meal, and WJ Dent & Sons/Chief's Your Neighborhood Bar provides great food but also a store with essentials plus steaks, etc. Piney Point Market is a convenience store that also makes breakfast, lunch, including some Bolivian specialties.

Beautiful

The house and view are beautiful and everyone was very friendly and quick to respond to any communication. There are a few things to note, though. The 6th bedroom/ gym is a gym with 2 cots that can be relocated; the master bed and bath are upstairs, not on main level; there are no handrails for the few steps into the home and none for the pool; and the windows in the master and downstairs bedroom with bunks leak with heavy rain. The windows wouldn't stop us from returning, we just know for next time if it is a downpour, not to have anything right by the windows and grab a few towels :)

Relaxation

This property was a dream come true! The pool was well-maintained, the house was spacious and beautifully decorated, and the location was peaceful yet convenient. The amenities and entertainment options were top-notch, and the owners were incredibly hospitable. It was a fantastic experience that exceeded all expectations. Highly recommended for a memorable getaway!

In the early 1940s Piney Point was also home to the U.S. Navy Torpedo Test Range. The Navy base was situated on the property, which is now the Paul Hall Center for Maritime Training. The small cottage-type homes located across from the maritime school were originally housing for Navy enlisted men and their families. The two-story homes along Stark Drive served as housing for Navy officers.
