You will love your home away from home "Pelican Point" in the gated community of Barefoot Cottages. Make lasting memories as you explore the Forgotten Coast, relax on the beach, watch beautiful sunsets, and gather back at home to exchange stories about your day.
Relax in the two come-sit-a-spell screened porches with your morning coffee, sweet tea in the afternoon, and cold drinks in the evening.
The decor, furnishings, and linens are bright and beachy. The 1st floor open concept living/dining/kitchen makes for great family time. The dining area has seating for four at the table and a coffee bar. The kitchen with granite countertops and stainless appliances has seating for three more at the large breakfast bar. It is fully stocked with everything you'll need to fix meals and store leftovers including spices, oil, Pam spray, Ziploc bags, foil, plastic wrap, containers, a mixer, and crockpot. There is a new Queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Six beach towels are stored under the TV to grab as you head out the door to the pool and beach. A half bath on this level contains the washer and dryer and laundry products for your use.
Both bedrooms are housed on the 2nd floor, each with an ensuite bath. You can choose bedroom #1, a King with a water view and tub/shower combo, or bedroom #2, a Queen with walk-in tile shower and upper porch access.
Up to 2 dogs are allowed (a pet fee will be charged, house-broken only, no puppies).
This cottage is privately managed, which means you will communicate directly with us instead of a company (you will have my cell # for questions once you book), no surprise management fees at checkout, we are available any time before and after check-in, and we are the cleaning and maintenance crew. We live in the community and do any fix-its needed between guests. You will appreciate this personal touch if you've dealt with a management company previously.
The keyless entry is great for young and old, no keys to keep track of, and you will have a secure code that is deleted when you check out.
You will have two parking spots which are right outside the door, and you will be steps away from one of the community pools and a grilling area. The main pool, hot tub, and fitness room with brand-new equipment are about a five-minute walk away or parking is available there. The 3rd pool is also a short walk away. There are restrooms at all the pools.
If you need beach or baby gear (crib, pack 'n play, high chair, stroller/wagon, car seat, toys, beach wagon, chairs, Shibumi shade, cooler, and much more available), ask me about BabyQuip. You'll find so many items to rent to simplify your vacation, and delivery/pick up is FREE for Pelican Point guests.
Barefoot Cottages is about three miles outside of Port St. Joe. If you take a right as you exit the front gate, WindMark Beach is on St. Joseph Bay and about a one-minute drive. Within about five minutes more in that direction you will find St. Joe Beach and then Mexico Beach (plenty of free parking available). Tyndall Air Force Base is another twenty minutes, and if you keep heading that way you will soon be in Panama City Beach with its tourist attractions, restaurants, shopping, and the Northwest FL Beaches Airport (ECP). To head the other direction, turn left as you exit the gate and you will be in Port St. Joe in about three minutes. There is a Dollar General Market and Piggly Wiggly for groceries, and a vibrant and charming downtown area with locally owned restaurants and boutique shopping. Continue twenty minutes east on 98 to Cape San Blas or take a drive to Apalachicola and St. George Island.
Whether you're coming to the area for a festival or wedding, to unwind with family and friends on our beautiful beaches, to reel in the big ones, or to visit your loved one at Tyndall AFB, we want to help make memories that you'll treasure forever. You can shake the sand from your shoes but it will never leave your soul.
We rent to families only--no construction worker groups and no renters under 25. If you're under 25 and your parents won't be staying in the home with you the entire time, please don't even ask. In providing a modern, clean, well stocked home, we are looking for guests who will treat it as their own.

Boats and trailers are no longer allowed in Barefoot Cottages.
