Nestled in the woods on the South Side of Lake Ouachita, "The Hidden Gem" offers both convenience and privacy. Situated on 6 wooded acres just off Hwy 270 E, this 2-bedroom 2-bathroom home is ideal for couples traveling together or a family. A full-size sofa bed in the living room accommodates up to two additional guests. Overall, we can host a total of six guests.

Woods surround this home. Outside, we have a deck, patio furniture, a picnic table, a gas grill, a crystal washing station, and a fire pit. Inside, we have a 55" smart TV and an electric fireplace in an open-concept living room, a dining table with seating for 6, a full kitchen, and a dedicated workspace with an adjustable sit/stand desk. In between, we have a large screened-in breezeway with seating and extra towels.

We are located mere minutes from Lake Ouachita, local Quartz Crystal Mines, and hiking and mountain biking trails such as the LOViT and Womble Trails: 1.5 miles to Twin Creeks Use Area. 8 miles to Mount Ida. 30 miles to Hot Springs, Arkansas.

The Hidden Gem!

Exactly as described and much more. We had a wonderful long weekend with family and this hidden gem couldn’t have been better for my disabled mother to be able to come along and enjoy the trip. Very accommodating and accessible we would love to stay here again!

Relaxing home near all the fun

We greatly enjoyed our stay at The Hidden Gem and we wouldn't hesitate to go back! This is a very private property that is literally minutes from everything. Beautiful swimming on Lake Ouachita, restaurants, museums, crystal digging...you can do it all! We loved how comfortable the house was for our family of five and the workspace was a huge bonus for us!

Fabulous home tucked away in the forest

This property is beautiful, and the home came with every amenity we could have asked for in a vrbo. There are a lot of trails and lakes all around to hike and enjoy. I can't imagine the beauty in the Fall and Spring.

Name says it all

We had an absolutely fantastic stay here. The property is comfortable, quiet, and in a gorgeous location very close to a lot of interesting things to do - hiking, crystal hunting, visiting the lake, etc. Lots of nice amenities too - a fully equipped kitchen, a grill, a really nice breezeway, a fire pit, and even beach toys for kids. This is a "batteries included" place. We loved our stay here and look forward to staying here the next time we're in this area.

Cozy home

We have stayed at various properties around Mt. Ida. This is by far our favorite. Very cozy home with so many positives: comfy beds, plenty of space, great back porch with grill, well-stocked kitchen. Lots of little 'extras' that show Edwenna wants her guests to have a perfect stay. Excellent location, quick drive to trails, restaurants, lake, rivers. We will definitely return!

Summer visit

The house was nice and communication with the host was very good. The only issue we had is that it is located on a busy highway and the noise of trucks and cars going by was disruptive, especially if you are trying to sit outside. We booked over 4th of July holiday so I'm sure the traffic was higher than normal.

Inside this rental house was totally awesome. Clean, fresh look. Wish my house looked this good on the inside. Soooo much better than motel. Just needs to upgrade on bedding pillows. Some would want a tv in bedroom, however, we were not used to that, so the big tv in living area was plenty. We didn’t spend much time outside except for some strolls. Could have been a little better upkeep on outdoor areas. The breezeway is awesome. Just needs lots of seating and visiting/ bird watching areas. When we first pulled in I was a bit nervous, but once we opened that door inside, all worries were gone. Would stay here again if in area.

An incredible secret getaway

My stay at this Vrbo in Mt. Ida was an absolute dream come true. The location is nothing short of magical. Tucked away just off the highway, it feels like stepping into a hidden paradise. Surrounded by a breathtaking forest of beautiful trees in every direction, it's as if you've entered a different world. One of the highlights of my stay was the seamless integration of nature into the property. Large windows and skylights provide ample natural light, and the surrounding forest creates a sense of serenity and privacy. Despite its secluded setting, this Vrbo boasts surprisingly modern amenities. If you're looking for a getaway that combines the beauty of nature with the comforts of modern living, this Vrbo is an absolute gem.

More than a Hidden Gem

This property is even better than described. The attention to detail was like no other place I have stayed. High quality sheets, thick bath towels and plenty of them, excellent charging station on nightstand for every device you could possibly have. Comfortable sitting areas with blankets. There is an ice maker separate from the freezer. Really this place is everything you could think of and more. I wish every place I stayed was this nice. It's a convenient location for crystal digging for most mines in the Mt Ida area. Short drive to eat in Mt Ida. The property is just off the main road but pretty quiet. If we weren't getting up early for digging we would have sat out on the lovely porch and enjoyed coffee in the peaceful wooded back area. Definitely a 5 star stay.

Mt. Ida - House with Trees!

I really can’t express in words how beautiful this house and location is. It’s more than amazing! We arrived at night so couldn't see much when we got there but when we woke up– WOW we were surrounded by such beauty. So many of the tallest perfect looking trees I have ever seen. It was so peaceful and quiet and that’s exactly what we were hoping for. The inside and outside of the house was incredible. The inside has everything you would need and more. There's a grill outback and we took advantage of cooking and eating outside with all the beauty around us. The little town of Mt. Ida had such friendly helpful people. We also went to the horse races in Hot Springs which is only a 35-40 min. drive and so worth it. This is such a great place to get away and just hang out, relax and enjoy the wonderful world of nature around you. We will be going back to this place many more times and we can’t wait. Edwenna, it was so nice to know you were right down the road if we needed you. Thank you for all your help.

The house is beautiful! We were in town for a bass tournament. IF you are pulling a 21ft boat/trailer or longer, you will need to BACK the trailer in from the highway unless they widen the circle drive. Lots of room, lots of parking, super comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, beautiful scenery and FANTASTIC host! 10/10 would recommend and most likely will stay again.
