One of the best stays at Captains Walk

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: 4th time staying at Captains Walk, one of the better units we stayed in. Clean, easy to access beach, and quiet. The view was amazing, can see the sunrise from the balcony. Unit can use a couple updates/paint and there was issue with closet door in 2nd bedroom, but I consider these minor issues and did not effect the quality of our stay. I would definitely rent the unit again.

Great location, but needs updates

Loved the property and location. Pool was great, close beach access and wonderful view. Condo had peeling paint, refrigerator rusted, screen door fell off the wheels . Just needs some TLC, but very clean!!!

Family Vacation

Wonderful location and property grounds. Very short walk to beach was perfect for our kids. Overall the condo was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay. The condo could use some revitalization. It is beginging to show it's age

Reviewer Comments: Weather great, view from balcony great. 581 needs deep cleaning/renovations. Examples: dirty tile floors, filthy area carpets, dining area chairs, upgrades of kitchen utensils. Coat of paint will not do it.

Great view, great location, and beautiful property.

We enjoyed this rental. We were able to book this very last minute and enjoyed the breath-taking ocean views, dolphins feeding, fishing boats, and deer on property. The beds were very comfortable and the condo satisfactorily accommodated. The living room furniture was not very comfortable but we still very much enjoyed our stay and walking proximity to Palmetto Dunes Pickleball club. Very quiet place to stay. Hardly knew we had neighbors with the building’s design.

Family get away

Property was great. Room was just as advertised in pictures. Room needs a little updating which is why I just gave 4 stars but with new carpet and fridge Would definitely be a 5 star room. Checkin was very easy and contact from host was great. Would definitely stay here again

Amazing view, shockingly shabby

Amazing view but the unit desperately requires significant updates, repairs and deep cleaning. There is something shabby and worn out everywhere in this unit. This is an investment property exclusively - no owner could want to live here. Owner should be ashamed at the condition. Dirty everywhere. Side of the fridge was filthy from food splashes. Cleaning fee is absurd, given how badly the place is maintained. Both bathrooms are from a Motel 6. Primary bathroom is the size of a closet, a tiny place for a toilet and a tub. Neither bathroom has a modern, walk-in shower. Neither bathroom has been updated for many years. Cracked tiles. Mirror/make-up area has shabby, brown carpet and cushioned stool with stuffing popping out. Inoperable light fixtures and light switches that don't operate anything. Primary bedroom flooring same brown shabby carpet, with embedded green sticky candies. Unraveling threads on pillows and shams. Every wallpaper strip in main area is peeling. Pullout couch is dirty and even more disgusting underneath. Outside patio is nice but sliding door doesn't close properly and mosquitos easily enter. Owner/previous renter stuffed paper towels into the gaps. Screen door is inoperable. Bottom line - stay far away. Disappointing because it wouldn’t take much $ to upgrade bathrooms, given that both are tiny. We will never stay at Captains Walk again, which is sad for other units, which may be perfectly fine. This one unit gives the entire place a very bad vibe.

Some Good, Some Bad

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location was great. However, condo was in bad need of a remodel. Bathrooms could use some upgrades and master bath was pretty tiny. The side of the Kitchen refrigerator was covered halfway up with either dirt or rust or both. Also, there were some electrical outlets that didn't work, and also some light switches that did nothing. Finally, there was no TV in second bedroom and the sliding balcony doors in the den and master bedroom did not lock. The turn lock on the den door was even missing and the door would not close all the way. There was one day where we did not have hot water. On the plus side, the condo was very roomy, had nice views of the ocean, and had a big dining table and I would stay there again with some improvements.

The view is spectacular!

This place has an amazing view and location that can’t be beat! It needs updating,, but is a great location for my family. Definitely needs some love, and new furniture, and the fridge is old!

Shabby and dated

The place was shabby and dirty. The carpet was filthy. The outlets in the bathroom didn't work so we had to use the hair dryer in the bedroom. The shower was dangerous. Nothing to hold onto. We had to bring a chair from the deck to help us get in and out.

Peaceful and inviting.

The property is well taken care of and offers wonderful viewing of the entire area. We have been in some of the other buildings and all have been excellent. The grounds are inviting to walk through and enjoy all the beautiful growth. The units we have rented have all been the same, clean, up to date, and offering extras for our use & nearby shopping.

Ceramic tile floors a disgrace especially in kitchen. They need to be power cleaned as housekeepers mop will not clean-I tried. Carpets very dirty need to be replaced or deep cleaned.Dining area chairs had paint peeling off handles. Porch chairs and tables rusty. Wallpaper, in several areas, had separated from wall. This unit is in great need of upgrading. Housekeeping could not fix these problems. Have stayed MANY times in CW and these furnishings were very disappointing.

481 Capts Walk was a very nice unit. The views from the balcony and from the front windows were spectacular ! 180 degree view down the beach. You can hear the ocean all day and night. It does need to be updated, carpets replaced, could use some new furniture & appliances which I believe they are renovating this off-season 2022/23. If they do, this unit is exceptional. Elevator was faster than most Pool was excellent and 8 ft deep in a section. Water pressure in showers were great! Sea Turtles Get Away (Selena and Crane) were absolutely incredible. We had travel issues and they assisted us and went out of there way to insure the condo was good to go and help us. Excellent service !! Met Dakota as he inspected the condo prior and allowed us an early arrival. We would definitely stay again. Thank you
