2 block walk only to a private beach Surf Shack is a perfect location. Open floor plan is ideal for entertaining and all rooms on same floor. W/ the lights on the Front deck listening to the waves at night is tranquil. vacant lots on 3 sides offer peace from neighbors. Cornhole, washer boards and horseshoes offer fun for everyone while at the house. Also 2 blocks to an amazing pizza place, large convenient store and liquor store makes for a great location.

All good

Host was very responsive. Older property. Small refrigerator so bring a cooler for your beer and bottled water. Also... might want to bring your own coffee pot...or do what we did and get individual k cups for coffee. Overall, a comfortable place with a great host.

My family really enjoyed our stay at the property! It was nice and close for us to walk down to the beach every day and big enough to accommodate all nine of us comfortably!

Host was very nice . We had a terrible start to our vacation due to our orginal rental ghosting us . The host communicated well and put my mind at ease . Great location . There was no washer or dryer available at this rental as stated on amenities .

Where to start rented for 3 days stayed 1 due to children being scared cause of mice in house...the house its self leans its not level,the couch is so dirty you can't even tell the real color.The walk to the beach is longer than 3 minutes it took us 13 minutes over 2 blocks would i rent again no

Outdated and Rundown

Full disclosure- I found this property listed for a very low price and booked it. After I booked the owner demanded I pay double or he would cancel. He will say this review is because I am upset about the. I am not. I felt he had genuinely made a mistake when listing and decided to pay what he asked. Pros-The walk to the beach was very short.The beach is beautiful. We walked all the way down to Jamaica Beach. The Patio on the home is a beautiful place to have coffee.There is an outdoor shower downstairs to rinse off.Cons-The home is very outdated.There are many maintenance and condition issues.The tubs don't drain properly.The smoke detector in one room was missing and wires were hanging out. Mice got into out food.The furniture was old and dirty.The owner is quick to respond. No issues with that. I would have left and asked for a refund if I had paid full price.

Very comfortable beds, well stocked towels and kitchen, very clean, quiet neighborhoodWe did not need it, but there is no laundry equipment as listed...fyiWe would definitely stay here again!

Our Wedding Day

Amazing place it was an exactly what we wanted and more! Our family and friends loved it! Rooms were clean and comfortable and ready to sleep in. Place was great all around. When we had issues even though it was late at night the Host responded immediately to help. If I can give this 10 stars I would! Would definitely recommend and come back for another stay!

Peaceful and a breeze

Checking in was a breeze. The beach was wonderful, within walking distance. There weren’t many people around and we felt like we had the beach to ourself. The house was great. Plenty of porch space. The layout of the house was very open and enjoyable for our family to spend time with each other. Thank you for everything, Sean!

AMAZING

House was amazing beach was literally right out the back door neighborhood was great neighbors were great and a short drive to town. If you need to go to Walmart for anything I would definitely book it again. Me and my family loved it and the host was great too. He was very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed.

Close to beach in a quiet neighborhood, some cons

Pros: -comfortable beds -big couch in living room -filtered water faucet in kitchen -games (dominos, jenga, cards) available for use -air conditioner works well -quiet neighborhood -ample parking -​easy 5 minute walk to uncrowded beach -beach toys, shade tarp, boogie boards for ​use -outdoor shower to rinse off from the beach -owner​ is polite and responds quickly to messages Cons: -​No washer/dryer (which was an amenity stated in the listing)​. Very disappointing the home was misrepresented in this way! We are a family of 6 including 4 young children and we packed​ minimally assuming we could do laundry. The owner did apologize for the inaccurate listing, but it was still inconvenient. -​Some doors don’t close easily and some swing open due to the slight slant of the house​. -​Limited cooking supplies in the kitchen, limited pots/pans/utensils, many are scratched and/or rusted, no oven mitts, only one small dish towel​. -​The outside of the entire stove/oven gets VERY hot when in use​. -​Dining room area is very small, the table is large and difficult to walk around​. -The house could be a little cleaner (under/behind beds, under toaster, etc). Overall, this house is a good deal for the price with a great location close to the beach in a quiet neighborhood. As long as you don't need laundry and aren't looking for 5 star luxury accommodations, you should be fine. The owner is friendly and quick to respond, so that is a plus.

Wonderful way to celebrate an engagement!

The house was perfect! Super close to the beach, very quaint, and pet friendly! Our dogs were very welcomed and we loved the dog friendly amenities of the house, like a doggy door and big fenced in yard. This was a great weekend celebrating an engagement with my fiancé and our friends. Made memories that will last a lifetime. The house was clean, the owner was very kind and personable and quick with communication if I needed anything. Overall a place I’d recommend for a small gathering, celebration, and weekend getaway

Dirty Shack

Property doesn’t match pictures posted. Terrible mildew/mold smell as soon as opening the door. Floors uneven, bathroom bedroom doors sticks and don’t close. Window pane full of black mold, black mold on ceiling tiles, furniture runned down and stained, pots and pans rusty. Definitely not a place to stay with a family.

Perfect location

The property is in an absolute perfect location if you want to enjoy a private beach away from the crowds. It was very clean and exactly what was presented online. I plan on renting it again in the future.

Great stay!

The property was clean and ready for us. The proprietor was quick to respond to my questions. Property had a nice fenced in area that was common to the deck so we could let the dog out without worrying about him getting free. Easy 5 minute walk to the beach!

Great stay!

The house was well kept and clean, there were a variety of appliances in the kitchen available to use, all in working order and well maintained. Sean was quick to respond to questions and gave clear answers. Overall we had a great time!

Top 3 vacation

We had such a wonderful time and having the beach house was great! It was a short walk to a private beach! 🏝️ Our host was very friendly and accommodating. He even allowed us to add an extra day at the last minute as the house wasn’t booked that day. We had 7 of our kids with us ranging from 5 to 21 years old and everyone had a GREAT time. If you’re looking for luxury this may not be your cup of tea, but if you’re looking for comfort, convenience, friendly host, and privacy then we highly recommend! Thanks Sean for a fantastic vacation in your home!
