Large, luxury retreat with National Forest views

Summary:
Large winter/summer getaway in Big Bear (Moonridge), CA. 4 Bedrooms total with a queen size sofabed in the living room. 3 bedrooms upstairs, 1 being a master suite. Downstairs has an additional bedroom with bunkbeds, full beds on the bottom, singles on top. There's a 55" TV and pool table downstairs as well.
Upstairs living room has a 75" Ultra HD TV and a gas/wood burning fireplace. Open kitchen and dinning room table that's great for big groups. The back deck has plenty of space.

The Neighborhood:
Just up the hill from Bear Mountain Ski Resort and Golf Course. 12min drive to the Big Bear Village and 8min down the hill to the lake.

Other Things to Note:
We are across the street from a forest preserve. Hiking, no power lines, privacy, your own peaceful sanctuary.

Lovely house with beautiful views!

We have been coming up to Big Bear for many years, and this is by far the nicest place we have ever stayed in. The location is amazing--very close to a trailhead--and I enjoyed many nice walks in the forest and around the neighborhood. The house is beautifully furnished: there are three nice rooms on the top floor and four bunk beds downstairs (near the pool table). The view out the dining room window is gorgeous, as is that from the master bath, which is as luxurious as you could imagine, with both a large stone-floor shower and a deep bath that looks out over the forest valley. We enjoyed using the grill, and there are plenty of places to chill outside. We loved the house and are looking forward to returning next year!

Great place!

We loved Joe's cabin, it was the perfect size for our group. We liked that there was lots of deck space to hang out on and look out on the forest. The house was super clean and beds were big. We'd definitely stay here again!

Loved loved this cabin

We stayed for 4 days 3 nights and fell in love with the cabin. It has everything you need and more. The cabin was super cleaned. You have no need to go anywhere the backyard has a big hill where the kids sled down and played in the snow. Joe was great with any concerns I had and quick to respond and be of help. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. It has 2 floors and a play room, fireplace, grill, hot tub, big kitchen, master bedroom with the best view, all beds are so comfortable. It also has 2 big patios great for pictures and just to hangout.

Great property for a family getaway!

I was doing a lot of research trying to find the perfect place for my family. Joe, the host was extremely prompt and helpful and made the entire trip wonderful. The property was fully stocked with essential needs and has a huge open lot next to it to have an epic sledding experience. You can just tell that the host truly wants their guests to have a pleasant stay. Will definitely be booking here again!! Thanks, Joe!

The best house for a winter getaway!

Joe’s house was the perfect t place for our winter vacation! The house is beautifully decorated, sparkling clean, has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay and, here’s the best part- the most awesome hill on the side of the house for sledding fun! We hardly left the place because we were all having such a great time sledding and playing right in the front yard. Joe was very responsive from the very beginning and was an excellent host. We will definitely be staying here again!

The Perfect Big Bear Cabin

I could not recommend this cabin more highly. First of all, it's ideally located for Big Bear, just a few minutes from downtown and less than three miles from Bear Mountain. Extremely clean and well maintained, this 4 bed/3 bath Big Bear getaway cabin has is all. The layout is ideal for a family trip. The first floor entrance greets you with a large entry that immediately opens up on your right into a common area that includes a pool table, wrap around balcony, gaming system and large TV. The downstairs has a bedroom for the kids and newly remodeled bathroom. A set of stairs leads upstairs, to the main level that includes a huge kitchen/dining area and living room. We really enjoyed the open floor plan that allowed everyone to easily congregate together. Additional front and rear balcony's on the second level really give you a cool inside-out vibe and make the house seem really open and expansive. Across the street is a ecological preserve, so you literally can't see a neighboring house in any direction! The kitchen has all the amenities, plus the brand new, gas powered Weber Genesis bbq on the back porch was a welcomed addition. Three more bedrooms and two additional bathrooms upstairs provides room for multiple families. The master bedroom and bathroom are freshly remodeled and absolutely stunning. We can't wait to return.

Great cabin for the week

All my guest were so pleased with our choice to stay here. Gorgeous master bath with tub was an added bonus. Lots of sleeping space and lush beds. Outdoor balconies allowed us to enjoy our time outside making s’mores, outdoor lunches and a few night caps and conversation. Kitchen had everything we needed, and the pool table was fun to use for more indoor entertainment. Parking was easy and plenty which is sometimes tricky in big bear residential areas.

Everything you could want right in one place

My wife and her friends had been talking about getting our families together in Big Bear for several years and we finally made it happen this past week. We looked at several locations and this one caught our eye and meet all of our occupancy needs. We were really hoping to get some snow for the kids to play in but being middle of March we knew that may not be a possibility. Much to our surprise the hillside on which the cabin resides was still covered in snow. So much so that we could actually do a little sledding which made the kids so happy. One of the best features about this place is it is right across from a national forest preservation so instead of going outside and looking at another cabin, you actually get a sprawling view of forest that you can see for miles. The interior was very clean and matched up with what we saw in the images. If you want to go to downtown for food or shopping its about a 10 minute drive but if you're like us you really didn't want to leave the cabin anyways. Overall we had a great experience and Joe (owner) was extremely easy to work with and very helpful with any questions we had. As soon as we can get all the families together again we will definitely be coming back.

Unusually comfortable for a rental!

Joe was very kind and communicative. House was well appointed, with particularly comfortable seating and beds/bedding,. The downstairs kids bedroom, bath, and game room were really wonderful, and seemed to be the most recently renovated. Very close to Bear Mountain ski area, but drive is winding and a bit hilly, so could be tricky in very snowy weather. Loved that the kids could sled right out front- a big plus.

Great for big families

We loved this property. There were sleds to use in the backyard and a pool table downstairs. We had 6 young kids and 6 adults. It was perfect.

Wish we could stay longer

We had a fabulous time. Place is so amazing, very spacious, complete with amenities and adequate kitchen and bathroom supplies. Bed and beddings are very clean and comfortable. Location is exclusive and about 2 miles to the Village. It was perfect for us since we have young kids and they had so much fun playing in the snow within the property and sledding down the driveway. Will definitely book again.

Nice place

We had a great time. The place is very nice and well acquainted. It's nestled back in the Moonridge neighborhood away from the crowds which is nice, though it could be a bit tough to get to in bad weather. Overall, we had a great visit and would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic property and location, great host and experince!

Simply put, this has been one of the best experinces we had with AirBNB and VRBO. Joe turned out to be an outstanding host, and the property met or exceeded our expectations. Everything was clean and ready for use, lots of supplies (even some food, including coffee K-cups). Very nice house with a character, well-decorated. Great communication with the host - he sent a detailed welcome letter (which was very helpful), texted us with advice on how to get there safely and, once we moved in, checked if everything is OK and whether we need anything else. In my opinion, Joe is a superhost, and he should be rewarded for this level of care about his guests.

Perfect for our 3 families!

Loved the house and upgrades, and most of all how clean it was. Joe was prompt in responding and very pleasant to work with Our 3 families had plenty of space. The kids really enjoyed sledding and snow play around the house, even after a full day of snowboarding. We would definitely stay here again!

Couldn't be happier

This place is a must if you have a big party! We had 3 families in our party with 5 children at most. We had some people come stay one night and others just for the day, but had 10 people staying 2 nights. It snowed in big bear and we are inexperienced drivers when it came to driving in snow in the mountain. Driving in snow (we're from nyc, originally) in the mountain was a diff ball game. JOE was AMAZING at responding and communicating (and walking us through the 'inclement' weather condition) with us. Great location (<10 min drive to summit slopes) and even greater house. I want to come back with my family in the summer for some lake action.

Wonderful Winter Wonderland Right in Big Bear!

We had such a great time at this property and look forward to booking again in the spring. The property itself is located right next to The Villa Grove Avenue Trail Head so you look out into the wilderness not neighbors! We were fortunate enough to to get a ton of snow and took a short hike on Thanksgiving day before too much snow fell which provided the best sledding for the kids without having to drive anywhere. I can only imagine how much fun will be had when we return in the spring! The interior of the home is clean, cozy and warm; we had 10 people total and there was plenary of room for all of us with room to spare! The layout is open and there are plenty of windows with views in all directions. We were concerned about parking (4 cars) but with no neighbors across from the property parking was abundant. All in all our family had a great time at this property and will definitely be returning in the future.
