Beautiful guest home with lots of natural light in the center of town. The Hendry House is a restored historic house that survived Quantrill's Raid.
The house has central air, newer stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, 2 large bedrooms, ceiling fans and washer and dryer included. This unique place has a style all its own. This home can only be booked for 30+ days as per City of Lawrence restrictions.

The historic Hendry House has been restored to be a well-situated home near downtown Lawrence. It was a perfect place for a weekend away with my daughter!

Great location. Comfortable beds, has 1.5 bathrooms which was nice. Would definitely book again for a Lawrence weekend

Perfect location

Really close to downtown Lawrence close to KU and a cute little downtown area. Great forgetting and shopping. Definitely recommend.

Great location to downtown and historic neighborhoods

Comfortable with all the amenities we needed. Our lower unit had good parking off the alley. Easy walk to the Saturday Farmers Market and our favorite coffee/pastries at Barker on Mass. definitely recommend this stay

A good way to visit Lawrence

The beds were super comfy. The bathroom supplies (towels, cloths, paper) were well stocked and nicely arranged. Check in/out was a breeze. And the close proximity to downtown was incredible. Thank you!

Ideal, quiet and beautiful location

A perfect homebase for my weeklong stay in Lawrence. I felt very much at home. Monica, the host is attentive and generous and I’m very grateful for the time I’ve spent here.

Lovely and Historic Home

We had a great time in Lawrence! The home is very conveniently located near Mass Street and the University. We were able to walk to Lawrence Beer Co. and the Burger Stand. Despite winter storm Blair, we were warm in the house. Parking was very easy in the alley. With the winter storm, Monica sent over someone to clear the parking area of snow and we were able to get out at our checkout.We would absolutely stay again! Hopefully without a winter storm next time.

Historic home

Beautiful historic home in a great location close to downtown. Be aware that we had plumbing problems which were not resolved during our stay and that there are tenants living upstairs. Also there is not a garden or a barbecue outside. There is a lovely porch swing and the beds are comfortable.

Better Than Expected!

After our original rental for graduation weekend canceled last minute, I was not sure what we would end up with. Hendry House was one of two places still available that weekend, and it was perfect. The location was ideal, we walked to everything! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had what we needed. At times you could hear people upstairs, but they were quiet and respectful. The only thing that was missing was some outside seating. There is a porch swing, and it was noted we could use it, but that definitely felt like more of the upstairs people’s space and we did not want to intrude. We would definitely return!

Awesome trip to Lawrence!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Lawrence and the property was absolutely perfect for our needs! It's in a great location, close to Mass Street and easily walkable to local amenities. The house was clean and really well equipped and had what I can only describe as THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED THAT I'VE EVER SLEPT IN! The washer and drier were really useful to have as we have onward travel so could travel with a full suitcase of clean clothing. Monica communicated really well and worked around our late arrival so that we could just walk right in and go to bed. We really enjoyed our whole stay in Lawrence, made even better by the great accommodation and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we're headed to Lawrence.

This looked like a great property but I unfortunately wasn’t able to stay here — there was no check-in information provided, and I wasn’t able to get any response from the host when I actually got there, so I had no choice but to cancel the reservation.

Overall it wasnt bad but it could use a deep cleaning. The drains in the bathroom drain very slowly and we have tiny baby roaches in the bathtub. We bought some spray and by the 2nd day they didn't return. When we contacted the host she responded the next morning and asked us to respray. We utilized the front porch swing once as it is shared with the upstairs neighbor. Others time he or she was using it. We rarely heard the neighbor but when we did their presence was known. The area is walkable which made the stay even better. You enter through the back. The front door doesn't give you access to the unit. You have private off street parking in the rear.
