Located near Shell Beach and tidepools. Award-winning Obie Bowman design.

Tin Roof / Unit 24, Lot 109. This is one of Obie Bowman's AIA gems. The main house and guest house share a large, landscaped courtyard, complete with patio furniture and gas BBQ. The main house also offers a gourmet kitchen where more than one cook can give a hand. The floor plan is open between the kitchen, dining and living, so all can enjoy the wide ocean views by day and the ambience of the gas fireplace at night. The primary bedroom is up a long shallow staircase and enjoys a soaking tub with jets and separate step-down shower. The expansive, light-filled primary bedroom and bath are open to the great room living space below. A half bath is off the kitchen.
The guest house has 2 bedrooms on separate levels, each with their own half bath in bedroom, and a shared shower in the hall. Towels and sheets are provided. Free WIFI is available. Children over 12 ok. 1 dog allowed. Garage not accessible for renters.

SEA RANCH AND SONOMA COUNTY GUIDELINES
Drones are strictly prohibited in The Sea Ranch.
Quiet hours must be observed between 9pm and 7am every day.
No outdoor amplified sound is allowed at any time day or night.
Dogs must be leashed and cannot be left unattended.
Maximum number of vehicles at house shall be 3 (three), parked in driveway. NO RV's.
Maximum occupancy is 6 for this home.

Everything was lovely and clean. The garden was perfect for our little dog. He loved running around sniffing every plant. I wish I’d had about a week or more to relax there myself. We didn't use the guest house but we looked at it and it’s very sweet! I love the gas fireplace so much. Excellent chef’s kitchen. Bed was very comfortable! The only thing missing is a stereo system, soundbar or something similar for music. Wide view of water across a short meadow.

Fabulous location and unusual architecture

We loved the house and the location. The Sea Ranch is a wonderful area to stay, and the community is used to short term visitors so everyone is very friendly, as long as you play by the rules and are respectful of others. For those who want a place to be loud and have their dogs and kids run free, I’d recommend another community.The facilities at the lodge are so nice, and the restaurant is fantastic. One thing I’d do differently next time is that I’d plane for more time on the property. There are so many things to do, you could spend a week there and never get bored.

Amazing stay at a beautiful property

We loved our recent stay with friends, family and our pups. The architecture and location of the house are amazing, close to oceanfront trails and unimpeded views of the ocean. We loved to gaze at the ocean and view wildlife from the living room. But what was best was the incredible vibe that we felt. The house was so welcoming. We could tell that the owners love this house and love having visitors enjoy it. Highly recommended!

Happily Returned to Tin Roof

The is was a three week retreat at Sea Ranch and second time at Tin Roof. We love the location with views of the ocean and wildlife (deer, fox, and birds)that roam the bluff. The house is spacious and comfortable with a large, well stocked kitchen. We love to cook and had most of our meals at home. The appliances take a bit of getting used to and could, at some point, be replaced. Our niece stopped by for a couple of days and loved the separate quest quarters. The bed was a bit hard and creaky? The courtyard was beautiful and private. Tin Roof has everything needed and more to enjoy a wonderful Sea Ranch vacation. We have already booked our next trip to Tin Roof.

Style and Substance

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful. As others have mentioned, the layout is not for everyone, though it worked well for us with our two older teenagers sleeping in (and enjoying) the guest house. The outside is unique style, the inside is lots of substance. One continually notices some new feature or artwork, and everything is very nice. The most well-stocked kitchen we've encountered here (20+ yrs)...and it might not be close. So many surprises; sharing two here, the rest to be discovered - lots of (incl dimmered) lighting, and (though we prefer wood as a rare treat) the gas fireplace is the best we've seen. Re: dogs, the (nice, colorful, and roomy) courtyard is enclosed but - for awareness though not an inconvenience - it's a low (~2ft) wall on the ocean side, where you will sit for hours for that view. We went in with reasonably high expectations, having been aware of this house for 25 years and seeing the pictures, and still left pleasantly surprised. Beach Rentals was, as usual, fantastic and responsive.

A few suggestions for the future: Moore hand and face towels in the main house, a spray nozzle on the kitchen sink, check the pipe under the kitchen sink. The pipe under the small sink was loose and leaked. We are handy and were able to repair it With simple tools on hand.

Perfect Sea Ranch weekend

Tin Roof is a perfect stay showing both the style and ascetic of a Sea Ranch home. Great design and style. Well appointed kitchen thats ready for cooks. Loved the spaces indoors and out. Will definitely recommend.

Spring Break Get-a-way

Great house! Very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well stocked. Nice and quiet, as it is located off the highway. Beautiful ocean and meadow views from every room and window. Loved the architecture of the house as well. We have already booked our next visit to “Tin Roof”.

It was so nice to check in with them. They are so nice there. The house was exactly as it is described. The beds were comfortable. We could be at the beach in less than ten minutes. The last day is rained. So we put on the fireplace and checked out the awesome library of books in the house! Great assortment!We played cards too. The large windows let you see the whales and deer crossing! And maybe a raccoon!You can tell that the owners take special care of their home and we tried to treat it like it was our own home too. We will be back. ❤️

A Beautiful House but . .

Reviewer Comments: An amazing and well-stocked kitchen, but the oven was inexplicable, the stove was cumbersome to light and keep on low and the coffee pot was crusted with years of use. The master bedroom open to the kitchen is not for everyone. The guest house does not work for two couples as every noise travels up and down stairs. The blocks in the courtyard are uncomfortable to walk across bare foot. The dead plans in pots and the dead tree at the entrance should be removed, as should the Chlordane, Malathion and Roundup in the shed. The dining and living room areas are light and delightful.

The outdoor deck area has a great view and we had all of our meals outside while viewing the ocean, you do however need shoes when walking on that surface. The house is a very open floor plan, so if you are trying to sleep and someone is in the kitchen, it can be a little noisy. The appliances are a little complicated but we managed. Beach Rentals ,as always, were very helpful and friendly.
