Welcome to the Scallop Shack! Centrally Located! Our guesthouse sits behind our primary residence on our beautiful property *Owners live on property. Peaceful neighborhood close to all that Cape May has to offer. Fully stocked kitchen. Sheets and towels provided. Come stay with us for a week at the beach!

Seafood is our life! This classy, nautical guesthouse shares our life by the sea. Brady is a commercial scallop captain and you'll find mementos from his fishing trips throughout.

The Scallop Shack is a two level guest house. The living room (pull-out queen size sofa bed) and dining room is on the first floor (washer and dryer included). The fully stocked kitchen, main bedroom (queen size bed and twin size daybed), and bathroom (standup shower, toilet, sink) is on the second floor. There are plenty of games and puzzles in the dining room for rainy days, along with a smart TV (Roku) to log in to all your favorite streaming service (no cable provided). WIFI is available throughout the guesthouse.

Small, private patio space in the backyard. Including propane grill. Please note that the front section of the yard surrounding the main house is private and reserved for owners.

We provide all the necessities including towels, sheets, hand soap, and cleaning supplies for spills. You may find other odds and ends to make your stay more comfortable.

Toilet paper and paper towels provided for the first 1-3 days of the trip (depending on your usage).

Please remember to pack your shampoo, conditioner and body wash, all cooking ingredients for your stay and extra toilet paper/ paper towels. Please bring laundry detergent if you plan to use the washer/dryer.

HOUSE RULES:

NO SMOKING
Please absolutely no smoking inside (this include cigarettes and marijuana). Please smoke outside on the patio and dispose cigarette butts (do not leave in grass or stones)

NO PETS
We love pets!! But this is our pups Cutter and Crew's home and we do not allow any other animals on the property. Thanks!

BE RESPECTFUL
We love our home! Please be respectful of the property and the neighbors at all times.

QUIET HOURS
This is a residential neighborhood. Please observe quiet hours between 11PM and 6AM. Thanks!

PARTIES
NO parties or events. Registered guests only.

**Important note**
Owners live on premises and have two friendly pups: Cutter (Labrador) and Crew (Labradoodle). You may see them from time to time in the yard during your stay. Please let us know if there anyone in your group is not dog friendly and we will make accommodations.

With this being Cutter and Crews' home we DO NOT allow any other pets on the property. We love all pets!! But this is our pups home and we want to respect that. Thanks!!

We loved our stay! Immaculately clean, comfortable, and quiet. Hosts were kind and helpful. A wonderfulplace to stay in Cape May, especially if you like some peacefulness after the hustle and bustle of Cape May’s beaches, shopping, and restaurants. Definitely recommend!

Great place to stay in Cape May!

Our stay at the Scallop Shack was great! Everything about this property is exactly as shown in the listing. Amanda and Brady are great (and very interesting!) hosts! The location is good, on average a 10 minute drive to nearly anything you want to see in Cape May. The dogs, Cutter and Crew, plus the chickens just add to the experience! We will definitely stay here again if we return to Cape May. Thank you!

Perfect for our family of 5

Initially reluctant to book a home in Cape May with a 9 minute drive to the beach and home owners on the property. So happy we decided to give it a go. The home was perfect for our family of 5. My boys ages 9,5 and 3 enjoyed the space and the drive back from town helped them relax and get ready for bed. They enjoyed the chickens in the back and the friendly dogs. Home had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Amanda was great and not intrusive at all. All around great time was had by all. Thanks for the fresh eggs. Such a nice touch.

Ideal place for a stay in Cape May

Host Amanda was so nice! The Scallop Shack was as nice as shown on the pictures. Everything was easy to reach, the beaches, the Farm markets, shopping centers. We Hope to come Back one time!

Simply the best!

My friend and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Scallop Shack, everything about it was unique and wonderful. We especially enjoyed watching the chickens (the girls) when they would line up to go in the coop at night! The property was so tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean and the owners are fabulous people. Once we got our bearings we realized that the location was great, convenient to all that Cape May has to offer! Highly recommend staying here, hope to return!

Beautiful Accommodations

We really enjoyed our stay at the Scallop Shack. Everything was just as described in the listing and the host provided us with plenty of linens. The kitchen was stocked with all the dinnerware/utensils we needed. The location was convenient; only a short drive to most attractions we attended. The host's hospitality was greatly appreciated. She was welcoming and glad we were enjoying ourselves. You can't go wrong choosing the Scallop Shack!

Perfect getaway

My husband and I planned a getaway and I must say the Scallop Shack was perfect! It was so clean and welcoming, had everything you could want and more! We rented because of everything available and didn’t need to use the kitchen much more than the fridge but it was wonderful to have the option. The welcome book was so well thought out and helped us decide at least one of our meals. There was no point we did not feel comfortable and hopefully someday we will get a chance to go back! Close enough to Cape May restaurants and such but far enough to enjoy some relaxing and quiet. Would recommend!

Great little cottage

Nice and tucked away but still close to all your needs. The dogs are friendly and makes it feel like home. Tons of extra linens and loved the board games as well. Top my of list when we come back to Cape May.

Brilliant stay

We really enjoyed staying here. Lovely location, minutes away from beautiful beaches, distilleries, vineyards. Amanda is a rockstar. The place was immaculately clean with all amenities as described. Chickens and dogs bring wonderful character and personality to the place. Highly recommend.

Scallop shack guest house

We are so glad we stumbled across this exceptional guest house! My husband, daughter and I absolutely loved this place! Ideal location right near the bay. We enjoyed our morning walk along the bay and the sunset was outrageous! The place was immaculate and exactly as shown in listing. The hosts were so nice, they left us fresh eggs in the fridge from their chickens. Their dogs Cutter and Crew were so adorable, it was nice having them around! Everything was very special and we look forward to staying again sometime!

Adorable Home Away from Home in Cape May!

My kids and I stayed in the Scallop Shack for a week while visiting family and absolutely loved everything about this super cute vrbo! It was extremely clean (so important to me!), relaxing, beautifully decorated, close to town...yet very quiet and the hosts were amazing! We were surprised with a sweet hand written note and fresh eggs! Theres also a wonderful greeter at the house...she's furry, loves to give kisses, leans on you to get hugs and chases leaves...the hosts beautiful pup, Cutter! Theres also chickens that hang around the yard that are SO cute as well! Thank you for everything, Amanda! -Kim and Family.....from Texas!
