Our “Home in the Trees," is a mid-century home reimagined for the perfect family getaway. An open floor plan with floor-to-ceiling windows creating a seamless connection between the indoors and out. So quiet you won’t have a problem relaxing into your vacation. Unfortunately this house does not host children under 5 years of age.

Situated near East Bay, on the renowned Old Mission Peninsula, our home offers shared access to a private sandy beach. We are close to everything. The Pelazzari Natural area, Road biking, alpine and nordic skiing, hiking, mountain biking....everything outdoors is at your disposal within 15 to 45 minutes. Not to mention the wineries, art galleries and beautiful drives.

Our home also has a seasonal Art Studio / office space with large windows and art supplies.

With the capacity to comfortably sleep nine guests, the home is perfect for families with children over 5, groups, or friends seeking a memorable vacation experience. Each room is a retreat in itself, offering comfortable mattresses with down pillows and comforters.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare large meals. The home is conveniently located near Traverse City, you'll have easy access to a vibrant downtown.

Whether you're planning a family reunion, a group outing, or simply a solo escape from the hum of everyday life, our "Home in the Trees" is the perfect place to ground yourself.

The house was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 children. It was clean and well furnished with easy access to and within a few minutes of downtown Traverse City. The open concept first floor plan with views into the woods, a large screened eat-in porch area able to accommodate all of us, along with the hot tub, and private beach area are a definite plus. The host was very responsive to our communications. All in all it was an excellent experience for our family gathering.

This is a lovely house in a great location for exploring the Traverse City area and is excellent for groups of friends or a traveling family. The wooded views, screened in porch, hot tub, and other amenities provide lots of spaces for relaxing between outings.We did feel that the price was a little high for what you got in a number of small ways that didn't collectively warrant taking an overall star away but could be improved considering the cost:- In the kitchen, the cookware is limited, mismatched, and not terribly high quality and the knives are largely dull and in some cases felt like they were threatening to break- In the bathrooms, one of the toilet seat lids was broken when we arrived and broke further during our stay. There's not really a good place to hang up swimsuits to dry and especially the lower level bathroom has inadequate ventilation that it stays very humid after using the shower. The whole house is stocked with cheap 1 ply toilet paper which seems kind of unacceptable considering the expense of renting it.- The trash bins are at the bottom of a .25 mile driveway so you have to either carry the garbage down while being attacked by deer flies or drive it in your car. There's also poison ivy growing in front of the bins.- The beach is not very accessible, especially for anyone with limited mobility. The stairs down are deteriorating and swallowed by brush where you enter and there are multiple patches of poison ivy growing right in the walkway.

Beautiful Home in the Trees

Our family enjoyed spending a week in this gorgeous home. Perfectly located close to the beach and town. The house itself is spacious and sets up well for families or a group of friends. It’s extremely well furnished and comfortable and we had every single thing we needed. A definite 10/10.

Terrific location close to town but away from the hustle and bustle. Very well appointed home - comfortable common spaces and a complete kitchen lacking in nothing you might need to prepare your meals. Truly one of the finest VRBO experiences I've ever had.

We had a wonderful stay! The location is great, in the middle of everything. We biked to wineries and the farmers market, had a campfire on the beach, and had dinner on the screened in porch every night. We were there with 3 adult children and their partners and were very comfortable. The host was very responsive and answered all our questions.

Comfortable cool spot

Cool decor and screened in porch for dining made this a fun spot for the family. Central TC location a plus. We had a couple issues come up, but the owners were responsive to address them.

Beyond Our Expectations

We didn't want to leave - I would love to return! This home is not only beautifully decorated, but it is so relaxing, quiet and feels like home. Our family enjoyed every part of the "tree house". The hot tub and screened in porch were my favorite features, but the two living areas (one up and one down) with an open kitchen upstairs were so great! The location is very convenient to everything you need in TC. The beach access was also a wonderful addition, even if you had to walk a bit, it wasn't a big deal. Really truly one of the nicest rentals we have ever stayed in!

Gorgeous home in a stunning setting on Old Mission Peninsula! What more needs to be said? Spacious home with two levels of living was great for two couple stay. Would easily accommodate additional guests. Comfy beds and responsive hosts. Would love to stay here again!

Beautiful

This property has everything you need to enjoy Traverse City and it's beautiful surroundings. This hideaway in the trees gives you privacy while immersed in nature, but also within a 10 minute drive to downtown TC or the nearby wineries. The home itself is well supplied with everything you need for a comfortable stay and beautifully decorated. The check-in was super easy, and even though we didn't have a lot of communication with the host, they were quick to respond. Thanks for a great week in your home!

Beautiful Retreat any time of year

The location outside and inside is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked, and the owners went out of their way to make sure we felt welcomed. When issues developed with the house, the owners made sure to make things right and went above and beyond to save what would ultimately be my mother's last Thanksgiving dinner. I'm so thankful that we chose this house.
