Welcome to 2 Whortleberry Island, our lakefront retreat on gorgeous Lake Winnipesaukee! Once you come here, you will be totally relaxed and want to come back every year! THIS IS AN ISLAND PROPERTY - BOAT REQUIRED. ALSO, TURNOVER DAY FOR CHECKING IN AND OUT AND FOR CLEANING IS MONDAY, BUT CONTACT OWNER IF SEEKING ACCOMMODATION TO THIS SCHEDULE. *

Enjoy the crystal clear waters of NH's largest lake from this house, with its expansive deck, 2 docks for your boat(s), lovely yard, and private sandy beach. This home is simply the best of "island living," as it is pure relaxation and fun, while only a quick 4-6 minute boat ride from 3 marinas, a public boat launch, a small grocery/liquor store, a wonderful restaurant and other amenities.

The house location is perfect for boating, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, or just sitting on our private deck, on the hammock or beach and swimming from our easy walk-in to the sandy lake bottom. The home's 180 degree views are simply stunning!

Enjoy the cozy 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, outdoor shower, and open concept living and dining room bathed in sunlight and with sweeping views of the lake. Hear the call of the loons as you wake to take in the sunrise, enjoy your coffee on the large deck, head out fishing, or wherever your day takes you. Keep an eye out for the frequent bald eagles and herons! Round out your day grilling lakeside, enjoying the fire pit for s'mores, and being serenaded by the loons at nightfall.

The kitchen is fully stocked and the dining table and table on the deck each seats 6-8.

Our home is accessed only by guest's boat. If you need a rental, we recommend nearby Melvin Village Marina.

My family enjoyed a relaxing stay on the island. A great location on the lake. The owners of the property were very helpful in prepping us for the stay, with directions, procedures and anything else we would need for a stay on the island.

We had what can only be described as a magical week on Whortleberry island - one of our favorite family vacations of all time. Tamara was an exceptional host and went above and beyond to ensure that we were well taken care of, providing prompt assistance and so much information about the area. The cottage is well appointed and extremely well represented online. We would love to return to this incredibly special place! Thank you so much again to our hosts.

We love this property second year. The boat traffic is quiet in 5he area and a qick ride tothe docks for forgotten item and all important ice cream. Sleeping areas are spacius and the ac is nice on the humid nights. The swim area is really nice any time of day. Everything we needed was there to enjoy the whole week. The deck is great we ate there every night. We love this spot andhope to benack again next year.

Spent a week at this classic lake cabin. Check in and communication with hosts was excellent. House is in a quiet cove, clean, well stocked and enough room for 4 adults and one good sized dog. Dinner on the deck overlooking the lake most nights….boat trips into town early in the day for lunch and shopping. Has a great small sandy beach, a nice fire pit and a sweet little lagoon where we placed our chairs to sit and cool off during a week of very hot weather! It was the perfect spot for the dog to swim from the beach and to jump off the dock retrieving a frisbee for hours! Would be a nice spot if you have small children. Last but not least….the outdoor shower! Never took one inside it was so good. A great week all around.

Amazing property and location

Check in was seamless, the location is quiet and scenic (beautiful sunsets!), wonderful swimming area, and the house was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. Thank you for the air conditioners in the bedrooms! We couldn't have asked for better accommodations. I hate to admit how good it was because it will be harder to book in the future!

Beautiful quiet side of the big lake

One of the nicest locations on the lake. Perfect for swimming and paddling. The cottage was small but had two large docks, a beach area and great fire pit. And… a large deck that we ate on every night. An outdoor shower was the cherry on top.

End of summer getaway

We loved this site best of all we have stayed at on the lake. Well equiped spacius and family friendly. Quiet spot on the lakewith limited boat traffic but close to docks for supplies and ice cream when needed. We will be back again next year.

Great waterfront cottage

We stayed at this cottage for a week in August 2024 and it was perfect for our needs. Simple, clean, cozy, well-stocked, great location, beautiful views. We had 2-4 adults during our trip, all of whom were quite comfortable with 3 private bedroom and 1-1/2 baths. The portable AC units were a welcome benefit when the weather turned humid. We spent most of our time on the large deck that looked out to a quiet channel and onto the mountains beyond. The location was convenient as well; we launched our 18' boat at the Pier 19 public ramp and it was an easy and direct 10 minute ride to the cottage. The fixed dock was simple to navigate to; just be mindful of one large submerged rock roughly 20' straight out from the fixed dock itself. The area was very quiet with minimal boat traffic during the week. The weekend was slightly busier but still much more subdued than the rest of the lake. The host (Tamara) was very communicative, responsive, and easy to contact. We'd recommend this cottage for a small group looking for a quiet island retreat with great boat access. We'd certainly stay again in the future!

Perfect spot

We had a very enjoyable stay at this location. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. There is a beach area that allows access to float and swim and the dogs to swim in the lake. The owner was very nice and communicated places to visit in the surrounding towns which was very helpful not knowing the area. I recommend staying here for the relaxation, quietness and the Beaty of the lake!

Island Time

This property is well represented. Great little beach for kids of all ages. Excellent communication with the hosts and they were genuinely interested in making sure our stay was great. Nice main dock with new bumpers on the posts, nice touch. Our weather was great, 90's and humid. The bedroom AC made sleeping enjoyable. I recommend this property and host!

**A Perfect Lakeside Retreat**

We had an amazing stay at this wonderful place, perfect for gathering with friends and family to create lasting memories. The house was comfortable and well-equipped with everything we needed. Stay at 2 Whortleberry island

The house was the perfect size and property allowed for several private places to sit and chill out. the views of the Ossipee range were spectacular and the amount of sunlight was great. The owners were very helpful when we ran into a boat issue and this saved our vacation. All in all, we are 100% ready to rent this property again.

Fantastic end of summer weekend!

Our family had a blast spending Labor Day weekend at 2 Whortleberry Island. The house was exactly as described and had all the essentials we needed. We enjoyed the fire pit to make s’mores each night. The kids enjoyed fishing from the two docks and kayak which was available for our use. The weather was absolutely stunning which was a bonus! Communication with the owner, Tamara, was fast and reliable. I would highly recommend this rental to family and friends!

Secret Gem of Big Ol Lake Winni

This home is tucked in a sweet location on the big ol lake in a nice and cozy spot without all the massive amounts of boat traffic. The home was comfortable on the inside and had great outside living space and amenities. The AC units in each room was perfect. Enjoyed our stay at this property!

Great private lake house

We spent over a week at this house. It was well-appointed, quiet, calm, and comfortable. The instructions and information was thorough, and the communication with the owner was quick and friendly. Beautiful view of the lake, lots of privacy, excellent place to stay!

Great Family Getaway!

Recently spent 4 days here, and it was perfect for my family. We brought our boat up and was easily able to dock at the house. It was a quick boat ride to Meredith and Wolfboro. Spent a day kayaking and paddleboarding. House was clean and tastefully decorated. The kids had a blast and asked if we could return next year!

Paradise Island!

What a wonderful place to stay. Being on this island in one of the best lakes in all of New England is just amazing. The house is a cute, classic lake cabin with a spectacular view of the mountains. We sat on the deck and watched some of the most beautiful sunsets. We swam, fished, and even took a few boat rides to get dinner in Wolfboro and Meredith. What a treat! This is truly a peaceful sanctuary or as my kids called it, “Paradise Island”

The property was clean and had all the amenities one would need also it was very peaceful with beautiful views of the mountains and lake.Bring your own boat or rent one close bye 5min ride to house from marina. The water pressure was great in both the outdoor and indoor showers would recommend renting this house to anyone
