Welcome to "Anchors Away"! Our cozy weekend getaway beach house that we have opened for you to enjoy. Just a 2 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the subdivision private dock with a boat ramp. If you are looking for a good place to relax, make memories, and experience the beach life, our home is the place for you!

Clean and comfortable

The property is well taken care of and very clean. Super close to the beach and at night things were nice and quiet we would definitely stay here again!

The host was very helpful but it was undisclosed when we booked the house that the water was disgusting and unusable. We had to check out a day early because my husband was unable to shower on the property.

We loved our stay at the beautiful beach house. It was perfect for my wife, myself and out two teenaged children. It was a short walk to the beach. We had a great time.

We had a bad water leak the first night they didn’t have any laundry detergent the whole stay even after we contacted them, the last to night we had no hot water.

Amazing location

Relaxing vacation getaway

This was our first time down to Surfside. This place was a PERFECT spot. Only seconds from the beach, spacious enough for the kids and I. Front porch was perfect for coffee in the mornings. We will most certainly be back and hope to stay here again.

Perfect Size

Absolutely top notch!!!

We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay. My wife and daughter loved the house and walking distance to the beach. All you could ever ask for. Our host was the best. She made everything so easy especially when i wanted to extend one more day. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at this property for the 4th of July weekend. All was well. Let me just suggest you bring LOT'S mosquito repellent. They were horrible in the area.

Perfect last minute vacation

We decided on a last minute trip to Surfside (our 3rd consecutive trip here with a VRBO) and are so glad we decided to stay here! This has by far been our favorite location alongside the beach with just a short 4 minute walk and great view of the coast. The home provided more than enough space for our family of 5. The big kids enjoyed the bunk house and the baby had plenty of room in either room for a portable crib. The kitchen was well stocked, the sofa was comfy and the house was clean. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Awesome Beach House

Awesome cottage nestled just steps away from the beach, I cannot express how delighted I was with the entire experience. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, every aspect of this cottage exceeded my expectations. The location of the cottage is simply idyllic, I could literally see my kids walk to the beach from the deck. Being so close to the beach allowed me to indulge in breathtaking sunsets, leisurely strolls on the shore, and the soothing sounds of crashing waves throughout my stay. It was an oasis of tranquility that offered a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The attention to detail was remarkable, from the carefully chosen furnishings to the BBQ grill and a well-stocked kitchen that had everything I needed to prepare meals. Also, the owner of the cottage was incredibly accommodating and responsive...just a great overall experience. Will definitely come back again soon.

Anchors Cottage

While our host did great with communicating with us, the cottage was not clean. We drove up to a huge For sale sign banner hanging from the balcony which confused us and made us think something went wrong. There was trash around the premise. As we inspected the inside, the toilet leaked at first flush and brown stuff spewed up…. After a few flushes it cleared out. There was questionable substance on kitchen floor in two spots (looked very much like dog feces) and questionable substance on bathroom door. The counter top had food residue stuck on it; the back splash had random substance on it. Bunk bed sheets were not clean as we found popcorn kernels, hair, and stains which we had to clean. Some of the towels had some kind of food on them and had to be washed. Crumbs were found on the couch. The host was very responsive and she sent the cleaning crew to us, but I told her I had already cleaned and washed everything and there was no point. The level of cleanliness was unacceptable and the cottage needs a good scrub down. We understand it is older and beach air/salt can affect it but maintenance of the place needs more attention. I do have photos that were sent to her and they did reimburse me75 for the trouble we experienced. As family, we did not let this ruin our time together. Fun was had by all but we were disappointed by the lack of cleanliness.
