We take guest feedback seriously and would like to clarify several points for future travelers. This is our personal home, not a party property, and we have consistently received 10/10 reviews from guests who respect the house rules and occupancy limits. Prior to arrival, we proactively informed the guest of a basement flooding issue in the theater room that occurred shortly before check-in. The area was immediately cleaned with professional equipment, and the home was safe and usable. The HVAC system is fully operational and was confirmed to be working properly during the stay. Temperature fluctuations can occur when a home is significantly over capacity. The reservation was for 10 occupants, yet during a late-night visit prompted by multiple neighbor complaints, we discovered well over 50 people on the property, along with vehicles blocking the roadway and neighboring driveways, posing a serious safety concern. Despite being asked to move vehicles, additional violations occurred, including parking on the lawn after landscaping rocks were moved, potentially damaging the sprinkler system and well. There is parking available for up to four vehicles. Parking limitations, occupancy limits, and house rules are clearly stated in the listing and are in place to protect the property and maintain good standing with our neighbors. The washing machine was confirmed operational before and after the stay. Our cleaning service used it without issue following checkout. Trash service was provided; however, the volume left behind far exceeded what would be expected for a five-day stay and required multiple hauls. Unfortunately, after departure we documented property damage, excessive mess (including gum in the carpet), and prohibited items left behind. This behavior is inconsistent with how our home has been treated by past guests. While we strive to be responsive and accommodating, we cannot support misuse of the property or violations of clearly stated rules. This home is best suited for responsible guests seeking a high-quality, well-maintained stay, not huge gathering or events.
