Perfect Stay for Oahu Get-Away

The Ohana ~ Family Home was the perfect space for our family to relax after hiking and exploring the North Shore of Oahu. We enjoyed the amenities, the close access to the pool, and the beautiful surrounding area for early morning walks along the beach. We would definitely make this place our home away from home on future North Shore Oahu stays!

Relaxing if you like the dentist

Loved everything about this property, other than the remodel going on upstairs! Everyday from 8-6 there was heavy construction upstairs (jackhammer, drilling, hammering). Wish we would have been told about this or gotten some money back at least... Our relaxing vacation was not so relaxing sadly.

Fun at Turtle Bay

We came for a short stay as our grandson had a baseball tournament in Waipahu. Everything was as described and we plan to make another trip in the future to just relax and not have to focus on baseball. Our condo was close to Turtle Bay Resort and we walked there every morning for coffee. Our only complaint, which has nothing to do with this lovely condo, was that the people upstairs kept dropping what sounded like heavy weights on the floor and jumping up and down. It sounded like they were doing exercises. At least it was in the morning and not at night. Otherwise the condo was very nice and just as described!

Broken washer/dryer

The washer dryer was broken the entire stay—which was a big problem for us. The cable and WiFi didn’t work the first day—but that was fixed. We couldn’t get the air conditioner to wok in the bedroom either. Not sure if it was broken or user error. Construction going on upstairs. Otherwise a nice place.

Great Location

This condo Is located on an unused golf course so the views are calming with lush landscaping. The kids brought a soccer ball and enjoyed running on the grass and playing. The course also provides a nice walking trail for families. The condo was comfortable with the queen bed and the fold out couch, plenty of space for the four of us. The area is very safe for families. The drive to some of the best food trucks, sunset beach, and other North Shore gems is a short distance. We appreciated the chairs, cooler and umbrella for the beaches! The parking, pool and trash were all very close and that was great. I would recommend a few things: Purchase extra laundry detergent, toilet paper and be sure to bring all of your own soap/shampoo. We ran out of toilet paper thinking we would find more in the condo. The login information for the wifi was simple but trying to get TV’s to work (login infor for channels like Hulu, Netflix, etc) and the TV in the bedroom never connected. We didn’t spend a ton of time on electronics but it was nice to have with kids. Instructions for the washing machine is in the hallway table, you might need it. We had to drain it when we got here, which put us a day behind on laundry. We couldn’t get the door open. The property manager was responsive during business hours and offered to send over someone to look at it. The front door lock doesn’t feel secure, and we didn’t know if the door was truly locked being inside. A deadbolt would be nice. The screened in porch was very nice, we were unsure about opening the screen doors so we left them closed. The towel rack there was very helpful. As a frequent traveler, there was no frying pan. There are pot, which made it tricky to make simple items such as eggs. Overall this place was very expensive and you are paying for location. But the place feels like a bare minimum for a VRBO. (Utensils, toilet paper) We love the north shore! Such a great part of the island!

Lovely location in Turtle Bay, walk to beach, golf course, restaurants and the main Resort

Lovely condo, spacious, great loacation, next to nice pool! Well equipped with everything we could need and more! Nice screened in back sun porch. Very clean with lots of towels and linens. Even had beach chairs and beach towels and a drying rack. Only complaint was the dryer wasn’t working. We did 2 loads of laundry before we realized that. So had to hang it to dry for a few days which was a bit annoying. But despite that would highly recommend this condo and location is perfect!

Everything I was promised it would be and more!

Drove up to a secure gated community. I had trouble finding the reserved parking spot because if you look at the numbering scheme, it should have been 10 parking spots away from the unit. It wasn’t, it was right up front! First spot was very convenient! Went in to a clean and beautifully laid out Condo. Spacious and fully stocked kitchen. Any pot or pan you need is there. There was even condiments and similar items already in the refrigerator. Very handy when you want to make a sandwich and have to buy condiments you’ll never use up. We added a couple things to it when we left. Kind of a “pay it forward” theme. The one thing I would change would be the washing machine. It sounds like a freight train during the spin cycle. We just planned for that and it wasn’t a problem. Location is great. We used it as our home base whether we went East or West. Much to see and do in both directions. When we visit Oahu again, we will definitely try and stay here. Five star recommendation!!! Thanks so much.

Great Experience Overall

Nicole was great to work with and very accommodating. However we were a little disappointed the dryer did not work without some special maneuvering which I had to contact Nicole about. Also, the overhead light in the bathroom was burnt out and there was a wide vertical line on the screen of the TV. I know, first world problems. However, the bed was awesome to sleep on, very clean accommodation and being beside the pool was great. We would definitely go back!

Well maintained apartment, very good location!

My family had a wonderful time here. The kitchen, bedroom and bathroom were all in good condition and very comfortable. We couldn’t get the wifi to work, but that was the only issue we had. Convenient location next to the pool with all of the amenities of Turtle Bay within reach. Highlight for us was riding horses along the beach and seeing a Monk Seal!

Beautifully decorated and clean

Excellent stay. Great communication and wonderful value for our few days on the North Shore. Excellent host who emailed to make sure we had all we needed but we just needed a place to crash as we were so busy. Apartment well stocked with games cards books but we didn't spend much time at the condo. Didn't even have time to visit the pool. Great stay and I would stay there again
