If you want to escape the crowds and chaos of typical beach vacations, come to Carova! Relax in the solitude of uncrowded beaches, and enjoy living amongst the Corolla Wild Horses, descendants of the colonial Spanish Mustangs brought by explorers 500 years ago. Looking for some mini-golf, shopping and restaurants? Corolla is a short drive down the beach. Whether you are looking for a relaxing getaway or an adventurous retreat, Sandy Pause offers the best of both worlds. A 4x4 vehicle required to access this home. This is a great place! It’s in a nice quiet area where the horses are all around. The house itself is in great shape and clean! The owner was very nice and responsive to messages sent. I would stay here again if we were traveling with just our family again.

1st Time OBX Vactioners

This was our first time visiting the Outer Banks; Anne was very accomating and answered all of our questions in a timely manner! There is about 8 miles of beach between Corolla and the property so it is quite secluded from town(definitely bring a 4x4 vehicle and stop for groceries/necessities on your way in). The property was beautiful, homey ,and extremely clean. We had plenty of shared space to relax and enjoy conversation. The screened in porch is especially nice at night to keep the bugs at bay. There was a group of about 8 horses that visited every day, walking under the house and swimming in the canal. The beach was a short drive down the road and had plenty of open space! Overall a wonderful time was had by all amd we would visit again!!

Perfect beach weekend with friends!

We stayed for a long weekend for LDW and had the most amazing time. The house was equipped with everything we needed and was spacious and perfectly laid out. The owner was wonderful to work with and very quick to respond. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect beach getaway

After losing my mother unexpectedly, my family and I were in search of a last minute vacation that would provide some peace and quiet for the adults as well as fun for our kids. We found the perfect home in Carova! The house was beautiful and so were the views. We enjoyed sunrises and sunsets from not just the beach, but from the deck as well. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, there were plenty of board games to entertain us at night, and having enough beach chairs for 8 guests as well as a sunshade, boogey boards and cornhole boards made packing for the beach much easier and lighter. One of the best parts of our stay was the wild horses wandering onto the property every day we were there! I will definitely be back for another beach getaway.

Wonderful family vacation

We had an amazing time here! Was able to watch the wild horses from the back deck play in the water. The owners were great about communicating and answering any questions. You will definitely need four wheel drive to get to the house. Our family throughly enjoyed our vacation staying here.
