The Lake House es una casa privada ubicada directamente en el Lago Superior. El amplio salón contiene grandes ventanales con vistas al lago y la isla Au Train. Las puertas corredizas de vidrio se abren a una terraza donde puede sentarse y ver el amanecer. ¡Una pequeña escalera de madera lo llevará a su propio tramo de playa rocosa!

Dos baños completos, una gran cocina y comedor, y cuatro habitaciones hacen de Lake House un excelente alquiler para hasta 8.

Estamos ubicados en una pequeña bahía en el Lago Superior, al abrigo de los fuertes vientos del lago.
Shelter Bay realmente ofrece refugio a todos los que vienen aquí. Family vacation

Our 1st VRBO and it was amazing! The house was clean, roomy, and inviting. The process was easy and the location was fantastic. If you want a beautiful Lake Superior experience this is the place!The sunrise was breathtaking!Most of our activities were in Munising which was only 20 minutes away.We would go back in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed the advertised view of Lake Superior. Would have enjoyed all the boating, fishing and outdoor activities if it had been warmer! Want to go back!

Very Good Place

We enjoyed staying here. There was plenty of space. Four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Plus a very large kitchen. There was a huge living area. Very comfortable. Extremely clean. Nice and attentive owner.

Amazing View, Beautiful Lake House!

We loved our stay at this immaculately clean and comfortable lake house at Kimar’s Resort. The house was perfect fir our family, and the host was super helpful with directions and everything was easy!

Fun filled 4th of July vacation

The home is very spacious and clean. Did some rock hunting out front. The kids swam at Deer Lake which is directly across the street. All had fun!

Lake House

Great location with many options for hiking, sightseeing and boating all being only a short distance away. The house was spacious enough for six adults, nothing too fancy but had everything we needed and was very clean. It's a great spot on Lake Superior and also has a very nice sandy beach across the street. The host, Sara was also very nice and helpful.

Cute Lakeshore retreat

Cute, quirky Lake Superior Lake House. Owner was very responsive & quick to help with a small water issue we had. My family stayed for 4 days at the end of a two week Upper Peninsula vacation. Our last day was wet & stormy and we were at the perfect location to relax & enjoy the view of rain across the lake. One word of warning, in last June the mosquitos are THICK & HUNGRY!

Lake House

The lake house is perfectly situated for a UP adventure with views of Lake Superior. We loved drinking coffee watching the sunrise across the lake. The home was very clean and well stocked. The large home was perfect for our adult family with large living spaces.

Peaceful view, great location.

We are 4 rock hounders looking for yooperlites. We could not have received better help, finding rock hunting locations, than we received from our property manager Sarah. What a sweetheart! And the accommodations were great. Clean, quiet, peaceful, and a great view!

A Good Trip

Quickly picked this cottage with little thought when I decided to visit the UP on a whim, and was extremely pleased with the outcome. It's part of a boat fishing resort but the cottage was very quiet and private and the view of the lake was spectacular.

We enjoyed an excellent time! Sarah was extremely courteous and helpful.

The property was very nicely updated and location was great for our needs. We enjoyed waking up to the waves crashing on the shoreline. If Lake Superior was too cold there was a lake across the road that was very convenient to go swimming and it had a very nice. Sarah and Dave were extremely helpful and friendly! Would definitely recommend this place.

Gorgeous spot on Lake Superior! Plenty of space for us all to spread out and outdoor area was great! We enjoyed the opportunity to canoe and kayak and enjoyed watching the sunrise off the deck. Owner was very communicative and extremely nice when we wanted to extend a night. We would definitely stay again!

Girls Getaway

Clean home with large open area for visiting and playing games, nice size kitchen. We did think that more outside lighting could be utilized for footpaths and also the hot water was on extreme high - scalding in fact. Overall a nice place to stay when visiting the area from Munising to Manistique.

Wonderful Time

We had a great time at the property. Each evening we sat and watched the sunset and had a fire and looked up at the stars. Each morning we watched the sunrise from the living room couch. The views were amazing

Awesome Property on Quiet Bay

We spent 4 nights here for our 30th anniversary. My wife wanted to be on water, and this was about as good as it gets, right on Lake Superior. It was peaceful and we almost felt like we were the only ones there. While we never woke up early enough to catch a sunrise, the sunset at Deer Lake, just across the highway, did not disappoint. Sarah alerted us to a GREAT full rainbow that was taking place over the entire bay, I only wish it last longer to change camera lenses. The home was perfect, clean, very comfortable, and nicely decorated. We are already thinking about another trip with our adult children and grandchild next summer. I highly suggest eating at The Brownstone Inn and Foggy’s Steakhouse, both are just a short drive east of the property and the food was outstanding. Thank you, Sarah, for being on top of the communications and offering up such a great place to stay.

Kimar's Resort was built by Al Kimar in 1945. Originally the property contained 6 small cottages. We still have 3 original cottages and 4 other rental units including the Lake House that are newer or upgraded. Our resort is currently run by Al's son Dave Kimar, his wife Chris, their 4 daughters, and 4 grandsons. We have kept the family business for over 70 years and will continue to do so as long as God is willing!

We are located in a small bay on Lake Superior, sheltered from the lake's harsh winds.
Shelter Bay truly offers shelter to all who come here. We have 2 kayaks and 2 canoes available right outside the Lake House for kayaking in the bay where you can see a family of eagles that nest nearby. It is also great for rock collecting! The full moon rises right out the front window of the Lake House. Directly across the highway, you can swim, cookout, or watch the sunset at Deer Lake. We are a short drive from sandy beaches. We also have a charter fishing business on site if you are interested in catching some Lake trout to cook on the gas grill in the community pavilion or on your private charcoal grill. This is a down-to-earth property; we have many boats on site and a number of other guests. Friends from the resort often times gather at the campfire and share a beer and some laughs under a moonlit sky. If you want an authentic Yooper experience this place is for you.
