If you're searching for the ultimate retreat, our breathtaking lake front house promises an idyllic getaway for you and your family and friends.

West Higgins Waterside Retreat offers enviable access to crystal-clear waters. With 75-feet of private Higgins Lake frontage, you can wake up to breathtaking sunrises while sipping on your morning coffee on the deck. Large windows provide panoramic views of the lake, ensuring you're always connected to the breathtaking natural surroundings.

The 100 ft. private dock allows you to moor your boat during your entire stay. Wade into the refreshing waters for a swim or indulge in various water activities, such as kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, and fishing. The calm and shallow water surrounding the dock provides a great swimming environment for kids. We are only a two-minute walk to the public DNR launch so you can immediately launch and moor your boat. (Please note the lake freezes, so the dock is seasonal.)

In the evenings, fire up the grill, grab a glass of wine, and gather around the campfire to share stories, roast marshmallows, and enjoy spending time with family and friends. The crackling of the fire, the gentle lapping of the waves, and the soothing sounds of nature create a relaxing retreat. Explore the area's hiking trails around Marl Lake and other nearby attractions. You can take a quick 2-mile boat ride to the secluded North State Park or a 7-mile boat ride for the party-action at the South State Park. It's also only a few minutes to state land for hunting.

In the fall and winter, you can start a fire in one of the two fireplaces after your activity-filled day hunting on nearby state land or skiing, ice fishing, or snowmobiling on Higgins Lake. Note: Fireplaces are gas and electric and available for use from October - March. It's only a 15-min drive to the Cross-Country Ski Headquarters. Higgins Lake has an abundance of Lake Trout that are usually ice fished at the drop offs and in the deeper water. West Higgins Waterside Retreat is only 150 yards from the drop off to fish these species, or you can ice fish for Perch in the shallows. Fisherman also have good luck between Flynn Island and the shore, which is a short drive on land or by ice from West Higgins Waterside Retreat. There are also Rainbow Trout, Lake Whitefish, Rock Bass, Northern Pike, Lake Herring and Smelt to be caught on beautiful Higgins Lake! It’s all accessible from the backyard!

West Higgins Waterside Retreat also boasts comfortable accommodations to ensure your stay is convenient and memorable. The house has central air and heat and a washer/dryer. We also offer free Wi-Fi to our guests. We can accommodate at least 8 guests with one queen bed in each of the two bedrooms and two double bunk beds in the loft. The loft is accessible by a ladder. If you need a little extra sleeping space, we can accommodate an additional four people on two pullout sofas. Our kitchen is stocked with dishes, glassware, pots/pans, silverware, dish towels, dish soap, sponges, and various cleaning supplies. Linens, towels, and washcloths are also provided. As an extra convenience, we offer complimentary coffee and tea.

No smoking and no pets. Parking area can fit 3-4 vehicles and a boat trailer. No campers, camper vans, travel trailers, pop up trailers, 5th wheels, Airstreams, RVs, etc. There is not space to park these kinds of vehicles. Side-by-sides and golf carts are allowed, but they are included in the 3-4 vehicle count.
