A Wave From It All

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This home is in a wonderful location in CS North. And has many patios/decks to enjoy its views. Unfortunately, this home seemed “tired”. The living area is tiny for 14 people- we were a group of nine and it was very crowded. The kitchen is tiny. It was difficult trying to prepare meals for our group. Bedrooms were comfortable except, sheets were to small and constantly had to be readjusted. Bunk room sheets had holes and a layer of dust on the comforters. Also- we barely had enough towels, trash bags, dishwashing soap pods, etc. This was our family’s third trip to CS and we still had a great time being together despite the less than ideal condition of the home.

Awesome Family Vacation!

Awesome family vacation with our 3 children, their spouses, and 5 granddaughters (three 3 year olds and two 1 year olds). The house easily fit our large group and laid out well. It was close to the pool and the beach. We will definitely book this property again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time this past weekend at A Wave From It All. We had four families with 12 people that stayed and we fit very comfortably. Easy access to both the beach and a temp controlled pool. When we arrived, the wifi was not working but it was easily fixed by the maintenance staff. The other thing we realized was that the downstairs tv was not work properly. May have just been the remote needing new batteries though, and we weren’t in the house a lot to need to use it. All in all, a great experience with great people, everything kitchen and toiletries were provided, and the weather was amazing this time of year!

Do to the proximity of the pool expect some music and people about but that didn't bother us at all. The 3rd story loft is great for a teenager.

A Rough Start

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I brought our adult kids and grands to CS after Christmas. We’d received great communication leading up to our visit, so we were looking forward to our time together. Upon arrival they didn’t have a packet in my name, so had to look up reservation... not a big deal. We entered the house and freezer did not work, so we called office. They sent repair guy, but could never solve the problem. So they brought a small fridge/freezer unit and delivered ice every day. Then the kitchen sink got backed up and the disposa was not working, so they sent a repair guy again. Then while getting things settled in the master, I stepped on several sticker burrs that were on the carpet. None of these are individually significant, but the combination was frustrating based on the tariff we were paying. I’d have thought they’d have checked the house better before our arrival. I’ve asked for some sort of refund for the inconvenience. I was told they’d get back to me and they have yet to respond. We had a great time together - but the first day was a bit frustrating.

The houses room were perfectly tucked in individually to feel like there was privacy but the kitchen and living room had plenty of spaced when we gathered. The fenced in patio was a perfect place to hang out. The location was great! It was right next to the pool. Everything was very clean and the kitchen had all the necessities needed . Dylan’s pizza was delicious we had it twice, Isabella’s was perfect and we enjoyed the bonfire VERY MUCH!!

So although it's a very relaxing space, the beds don't support a good night of sleep!- we couldn't find extra bedding and had to request it from the rental office but they were late to bring it over.- the trash bins were only delivered after we were in the house. - this property doesn't recycle!

Beautiful Home That Needs a Refresh

The footprint of this home is smaller than some of the others, so if you are staying with the max of 14 as the reservation site claims this house can sleep, it's going to get really cozy during mealtimes or if everyone is gathering at the same time downstairs. The charming screened in porch of off of the living room was unusable as the dining table was filthy and needs a power wash and re-paint. The lovely white chairs in the dining and living room need a deep clean as well. The air conditioning for the two master bedrooms upstairs also needs to be looked at as the air does not seem to get either o those rooms. The staff was super friendly and very helpful! We needed a new propane tank for the grill outside and they had one to us in less than 30 minutes!

A Wave from it All - LA/TX Experience

First, this was the first for my wife, daughter, and I to visit the Shore. We have for 30 years or more visited the Ala/Fla. beaches. The uniqueness of the resort was that the number of people at the beachfront is limited to the bathhouses residents. Being renters or owners. The beach area was amazingly clean and well kept. Also, access to the beach as well. The major concern I had was the beach vehicle traffic thorough fare between the chairs and dunes. We were there on a weekend. Which increase the number of locals to infiltrate the area. While most of the traffic was cordial and alert to the pedestrians in the area. However, and I say a big however. There were multiple times where there was reckless driving of carts and autos. There is no Sheriffs or local enforcement in the general area. No patrolling. My fear is that a 2 -6 year old runs out in front of a vehicle. I suggest that the owners and the leasing company hire off duty police and sheriff officers to patrol the area of the Shore beaches. Or just be present. Which does a lot to prohibit the bad characters from demonstrating there stupidity or ignorance.A couple of more restaurant or grills be available. We enjoyed the stay. The beach house was very nice. Everything worked. The AC units intakes had no filters. The upper loft was hot. Needs a separate AC unit for the loft.

A visit to the beach during hurricane season

This is a great house and a wonderful place to take your grandchildren. The only negative is that we visited Cinnamon Shore during a possible tropical storm/hurricane. Once the storm upgraded to a category 1 hurricane especially not being from this area, we were unsure whether to leave or stay. I know that this must have been a very crazy time for the office but when we tried to contact the office for some sort of directive and it seemed as if our only option was to leave a message. It would have been nice to actually talk to someone. Part of our group left during the storm and a few stayed behind. The storm took a turn, so Port Aransas was not hit as hard as expected but there was a loss of electricity over night. We were fortunate that we had family in Austin that we could stay with until after the storm passed. I think my disappointment in this unfortunate situation is that the majority of the correspondence that we received from Cinnamon Shore was only in reference to cancellation policies. Be aware of what the cancellation policy is and if you purchase insurance, read the policy. Before the storm hit, a 2 night credit was offered but because we had 5 nights remaining on our rental a 2 night credit was not a good option. Also if you chose to take advantage of the 2 night credit, you had to use it on the same house and before the end of the year. There was never any compensation offered for being without electricity for 12-14 hours. We ended up having a great time but I do think that there should be more flexibility with the cancellation policy especially if there is a possibility of a hurricane.

Great Week ...however, Cinnamon Shores could improve

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A great week that could have been even better. See maintenance list submitted separately (add squeaky closet door downstairs). The unit needs a deep cleaning, including all furniture / coverings. Our major complaint is that there is no security unit to enforce the reckless, noisy speeding cart shenanigans that go on from late afternoon till after midnight. For all its other amenities, CS should be gated and have a roaming security person (like at the malls). There is no way to immediately contact the office in the event of an issue (including a gas leak we experienced between units or racing, noisy teenagers) -- the phones need to be staffed. Kudos to the beach and cart workers during the changing restrictions. Upon arrival, upstairs had not been cleaned, but the crew who came out was great.

Close to the pool and the beach. The only thing needed was the grass in backyard needed mowing (too many stickers) as we had little ones who did not like to wear shoes and the dryer had too much lint to dry clothes.

Family getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had 14 family members for 5 nights at this lovely home. (9 adults and 5 kids) We had lots of space but could’ve used one more bedroom. The house had everything we needed except sheets for the pullout sofa. Someone brought us sheets the following day. We loved the proximity to the pool and the beach. The house was well-kept and we didn’t have any issues. We enjoyed Pilates by the pool and listening to the live music on the great lawn. We will definitely stay at Cinnamon Shores when we come back in the future.
