Family vacation

We had a wonderful stay!The outside lighting, music and grill was ideal for family time outside. Pool was a perfect size and plenty of seating to congregate around the pool. Inside was clean and cozy. We plan to come back.

House is super clean, and has all the basics ready for you on arrival. Just a short drive takes you to the public boat ramp access. Owner is super quick to respond to questions, and very helpful to first time family at SML. Highly recommend this property, the added bonus of the pool makes this a perfect spot for your family.

We loved this place. A few of us girlfriends wanted to find a place for a long weekend getaway and this place was perfect. Very comfortable for 4 of us to lounge in the nice pool, relax on the deck, watch tv, eat and laugh. The area is beautiful, so peaceful and quiet. The house is so pretty and decorated beautifully. Well stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds & pillows. It is a little walk to the lake down a kind of steep grade but it is so pretty there. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the hosts are great to communicate with.

A working trip with destressing time.

This is a lovely house in a quiet rural area with lakeside access. It's a perfect spot to vacation with family. But we chose it because we were in the area to support family with job-location planning. It was a perfect place to provide support and a relaxing place to unwind after stressful days. It was also convenient because there was a grocery store not too far away & a really good pizza place.

My perfect little getaway

Everything about this property is fantastic! I have to admit if it were just a tent beside that pool I would have still been in heaven. House has everything you need and the location is so peaceful. The host was superb especially during the power outage. I hope to stay again soon.

Fantastic Place

Everything was really great! We loved the clean pool, beautiful dock, and especially well maintained house. It was really nice, with a lot of extras like games and pool toys. We went horseback riding just 20 minutes away and fishing was also within a half hour distance. Highly recommend!

Quick trip

Stayed here for son’s graduation from Liberty University. The house was very cute and well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Beautiful quiet cove on Smith Mountain Lake. Would love to come back when the pool is open and we can enjoy boating on the lake.

Fantastic Week

This property, although older, was just perfect. Everything was clean and tidy. The grandchildren loved the pool in the backyard. Having use of the dock for the boat was a great convenience. The only downside was we were not informed that they now provide sheets and towels, so we hauled all those extra things. Upside, we didn't have to dirty them.

Vacation 2024

We loved the house, it was very comfortable. The pool was for sure a hit. Kitchen was completely stocked with all the essentials. Very comfortable beds. Overall a great home. The incline to the lake was a bit much, but we did get to experience a family of deer to watcha nd enjoy during our walks to the lake. Than you for sharing your home with us.

Awesome vacation!

This was a great house in a great location, perfect for our group. After spending our days on the boat we spent our evenings in the pool. You’re only a short boat ride to the bridge and several waterside restaurants and a short car ride to the grocery store. The house had everything we needed. It’s a steep path down to the dock but we just took our SUV down so that we didn’t have to walk back up. I am hoping to book this home again.

Enjoyed the house, but upon arrival there was a small plastic baby pool full of water we had to drag in yard to drain due to the plastic pool water going to front door and possible pool. Weeds were very visible/heavy around pool and the driveway to lake. The outside trash can we noticed on 2nd day had ants and bad smell. We opened the trash can and it was an open shrimp bag, open steak packs and hamburger meat along with around 10 plus plastic cheese wraps. We cleaned the trash can out and rinsed.We did enjoy our stay.

I truly wish you had reached out during your stay so we could have taken care of this right away, as we never received any messages from you. Our cleaning team does a wonderful job inside the home, and this year we also added linen service to enhance the experience. While we do have regular pool service and lawn care, we do rely on guests to leave the property clean upon departure—and it’s clear this was not done before your visit. We also want to note that we took care of the weeds around the pool ourselves as soon as we noticed them. Lake House

Enjoyed vist. But no handicap bathroom for older people, my parents had a hard time. Nothing in shower to keep from slipping. The walk to the dock needs to be noted also along with the steps. Was very hard for my parents to go down and fish. But over all stay was nice.

Thank you for your feedback! You are right! The bathrooms are not built for the handicap i.e. handrails and walk-in tubs. We try to take clear pictures to show the details but sometimes those details aren't apparent. The bathtubs are ADA compliant with built-in non-skid but may be hard to see. We don't place anti-slip mats in the tub for sanitary reasons. Finally, you are right about the slope. It is very steep and we encourage you to drive to the dock as long as you have a 4x4 or a FWD vehicle. We will update our listing immediately to ensure folks are well aware. Girls trip

Overall, great place. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool (even though it was a little chilly). The only real down side was steep hill down to lake. You can probably get to it with an AWD vehicle but because of all the rains from the recent hurricane it was pretty washed out and we didn't want to risk it. Not the fault of the owners, but something to consider if someone in your group can't make the trek by foot. We had an older adult with us so we weren't able to park our boat at the dock. Otherwise, everything was fantastic!

Peaceful Lakeside stay

The property is beautiful and quiet. We saw deer in the yard almost every day. We played in the pool. and swam/fished in the lake. The home had everything we could think of, and was a great size for my family of 6. Our only annoyance, is that it wasn’t obvious that we’d need to bring our own linens. This wouldn’t have kept us from staying there or staying again, but for a family- bringing our own linens is a lot, and we had no room in our vehicle after packing everything else for a week on the lake. I would have been happy to do the laundry if they would have been provided at the place. Overall, we had the best week!

More than 5 stars!

Eastlake Cottage at SML is fantastic! The pictures do not do it justice - the painted brick and decor are perfect. The beds, pillows, and other furniture are high quality. The kitchen has everything you need and plenty of all dishes, glasses, and flatware (many places do not). It was extremely clean and well maintained. The information up front was totally accurate and included everything we needed to know. We were there in the off-season so cannot speak to pool and lake dock, but having the firepit was great. The TV had all the channels we wanted, and (because this is not often the case) even the shower pressure was just right. This property is well-deserving of 5 stars. We’ve stayed many places - this property makes me rethink my standard for what deserves 5 stars. Thanks for a perfect stay. Will definitely stay again if we’re heading that way!

Lovely Lake Getaway!

We all had such an amazing time at the Eastlake Cottage! The owners were so responsive with all questions we had and jumped into action when the refrigerator went out. They made sure we had options to save our food while a new fridge was being delivered and even gave such a kind gift for it happening during our stay. One thing all 8 of us missed in the listing description was about needing to provide your own linens. All sheets, bath towels and kitchen rags need to be brought in. It is listed in the description, I just wanted to mention it here in case anyone else happens to miss it too! The boat dock is extremely nice and was a great place to store our boat for the week! It is quite a hike to get down/up the hill to the dock but it really didn't bother (most of) us! We also used the pool every day of our stay! It is a wonderful size and awesome place to hang out with the deck and covered porch all right there. It was so easy to spend most of our time outside! This is definitely a place we would stay again in the future and recommend it to anyone wanting access to Smith Mountain Lake.

We are a Navy family that lives in Chesapeake, VA. We purchased the house because we love Smith Mountain Lake and enjoy the home ourselves throughout the year. We have put a lot of effort into the property to ensure our home is perfect for our family and yours.

After a lot of research, we chose this location because it is perfectly located central to two wineries, Smith Mountain Lake State Park, Bridgewater Marina, and food/groceries. It is also one of the best coves in the area as it is deep but small and you can enjoy swimming at the dock without fear of passing vessels.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The property is large, almost 1.5 acres, boasts one of the only pools available on Smith Mountain Lake, is very quiet with a unique all-brick building (inside and out), has a large fire pit, and a beautiful dock. You'll be hard-pressed to find another property with all the amenities for such a good rate.
