Quédese en Chincoteague y nade, camine, ande en bicicleta, cometa, observación de aves, etc. en Assateague. Nuestra casa está convenientemente ubicada en la isla Piney de Chincoteague, santuario designado para pájaros y puerta de entrada a la costa nacional de la isla Assateague. Ya sea que vaya en bicicleta a la playa todos los días o pasee en su casa en la terraza, ¡puede disfrutar de la inmersión en la naturaleza de la mejor manera! Esta casa de estilo moderno tiene nuevos pisos de madera noble magníficos en un área abierta de sala de estar-comedor, pintura fresca, nuevos ventiladores, baño principal y dormitorio remodelados, nueva estufa de gas y muchas otras actualizaciones.

Nuestra casa tiene tres habitaciones. El dormitorio principal fue remodelado este año con una nueva cama queen, colchones, pisos, lámparas, pintura, etc. y el baño principal fue remodelado el año pasado. El dormitorio principal también tiene un televisor de pantalla plana. Nuestro segundo dormitorio, la "sala de albaricoque" tiene una cama queen.
Nuestra tercera habitación, con dos camas individuales, la 'habitación turquesa', se actualizó con pintura y nuevas camas y colchones en 2012. Las habitaciones de albaricoque y turquesa comparten un pasillo con un baño completo con bañera para los niños.

Nuestro estudio, ubicado junto a la cocina, tiene un futón desplegable de tamaño completo y una puerta trasera con mosquitero. Una puerta corredera a la cocina proporciona privacidad para dormir. La guarida también es ideal para niños. Tenemos juegos (monopolio, manzanas con manzanas, uno, scrabble) en el armario rojo y tiza y una pizarra están configuradas para la diversión de tu pequeño mientras preparas el desayuno.

Nuestra cocina está totalmente equipada con estufa de gas, lavaplatos, hervidor de agua caliente, microondas, refrigerador con congelador, licuadora, máquina de café espresso, tostadora, ventilador de nueva gama, etc.

La sala de estar y el comedor de planta abierta es verdaderamente un gran espacio familiar para pasar el rato con techo de catedral, chimenea, sofá, sillones cómodos, w / TV por cable / reproductor de DVD / VCR. El comedor da a la cubierta trasera, los pinos y la isla de Assateague, mientras que el gran ventanal de la sala inunda la casa de luz.

Afuera hay una nueva ducha cerrada con agua fría y caliente para enjuagarse después de un día en la playa, un camino de entrada para automóviles, una parrilla de carbón Weber para cocinar y una nueva mesa y sillas de comedor en el patio.

Lovely home and very nice host!! Unfortunately, AC broke and part was not readily available. We were able to open most of the windows. Days at the beach were fabulous!!! Laundry services were about 20 minutes away.

Quiet getaway

We had a nice time exploring the area, and our kids were able to keep up with their schoolwork with WiFi, too. Bikes to Assateague each Day and enjoyed the beaches. Nice comfy beds to rest in. Would love to come back!

A lovely getaway

We had a wonderful time in Chincoteague and very much enjoyed this home away from home. The decor is coastal and very nicely done. The beds! I was so relieved the beds were comfortable. Location worked out well for us, as it is right between Chincoteague “proper” and the wildlife refuge. Very wooded and private feeling. We would return 🙂

Great week at Sandpiper House

We had a great week at Sandpiper House! The house had plenty of space for all eight of us, and was just a short trip to the beach on Assateague. We enjoyed a boat tour with Daisey's, delicious tacos at Pico Taqueria, saw the ponies and had fun at the beach. We would love to come back to Chincoteague again sometime. Mid-May Vacation at the Sandpiper House

We had such a great time staying in this cute beach cottage! We loved cooking in the kitchen & eating on the deck. It was very peaceful on Piney Island. We rode bikes & canoed & ate lots of local seafood & produce. So close to Assateague National Park bike & hiking trails. A great place to stay when you want a relaxing & fun time with your family & friends ! I look forward to returning! & Thank you Ellen, you are a great host!

Great Location

The location and comfort are A+. The cleanliness of the Kitchen could have been better, but keep in mind that I may have OCD when it comes to cleanliness. Beds were comfortable and I would recommend this property to families! We had a great time on the Island and LOVED the beach! Don't forget your bikes! Thank you for all your help Ellen!

We have always loved Chincoteague!

The house is very spacious for a fairly large family. The den works great as an extra bedroom. The neighborhood is lovely; doesn't feel anything like a "resort"! The deck is nice for sitting out in nice weather, and for listening to the birds in the marsh. One suggestion: there should be a light directly above the kitchen sink.

Comfortable, good place close to beach

A good house for a family beach trip, with all the basic necessities in a convenient location. We appreciated having sand chairs and umbrellas for use. Unfortunately the mosquitos made it impossible to be outside or eat on the deck, and they would swarm us as soon as we stepped outside. Our only quibble with the house was that floors and bathrooms were not cleaned very well prior to our arrival, so some room for improvement there.

Sandpiper house -- cheerful and comfortable!

Sandpiper house offers a bright, cheerful space, very well laid out for a family. The living room is large and open, with the dining room connected. The kitchen has everything you need for nice meals, and has an eat-in area too. Tons of sunlight throughout! The house also has a large deck under the trees, which was great for eating meals and just sitting outside. The house is located on a quiet street in a wooded area, and is in between the beach and the town of Chincoteague, making both very accessible. We loved Chincoteague, and had an especially comfortable and fun stay at Sandpiper house!

Great getaway at Sandpiper House

We spent four nights at The Sandpiper House over Spring Break. It was truly lovely and relaxing. The location of the neighborhood is ideal. It is just a short drive/walk/bike ride to the wildlife refuge. The house was clean and bright and surprisingly roomy. We enjoyed the back deck and back yard as we were lucky to have excellent weather. The house is not right on the water, but you can view the water from the deck between the trees, at least in April. I'm not sure if the trees would obscure the view in Summertime. The kitchen was well stocked. Check-in and check-out was a breeze.

Little piece of heaven!

The home is perfectly located on the island. It's close to everything. It's charmingly decorated and has everything you'd expect in a beach house. We used the kitchen everyday and we were impressed with all the cookware, the kuerig, utensils, even aluminum foil there at our finger tips. We had an issue with a FedEx delivery (not being delivered) while visiting and Ellen was more then helpful and understanding! Thank you again Ellen for trusting us! We had the most amazing time! A good week

We have a very good time in this house. It’s near the bridge to the beach, in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The only problems were before we arrived. The owner sent an additional contract for cleaning and a security deposit a few days before we left for the vacation, which said that it was due weeks ahead of time. That was a bit of a surprise. I remind guests to bring not only sheets but towels, dish towels, and dish cloths, as well as trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Quirky and wonderful

My senior Mom and I had a wonderful shirt stay at this house during the off season. It was the perfect base for our long-time dreams of pony-watching (Captain Dan is the best). The house had a neat, quirky layout and all of the furniture was incredibly comfortable. Some things were a bit worn, but clearly loved and everything was very clean. While I didn’t have many interactions with Ellen, she was always kind and pointed us towards some neat local spots (the Island Creamery is, indeed, very tasty). The book full of advice and pamphlets was much appreciated. Even though there were only two of us, I could see this house being a blast for a larger group! There was lots of space and again, it was so comfortable. Thank you!

Sandpiper House - 5 Stars

My family stayed at the Sandpiper House in Chincoteague. We've visited the island many times, but this was the first stay at Sandpiper. We have three teenage daughters and everyone had plenty of space. The beds are new and comfortable, the A/C worked amazingly well given the intense heat and humidity, the shower water pressure was wonderful, and the closet and dresser space plentiful. One thing I really appreciated was the well appointed kitchen, which is often a struggle in vacation rentals. Plenty of parking, perfect location, private, and VERY close to the beach access road. My only comment about the house was that it would be wonderful to have had a washer and dryer. It was not in the listing that a W/D was an amenity, I just assumed it was - my fault, and I didn't pack accordingly. But that would make the house perfect. Our hostess was wonderful, responsive and kind, even when I accidentally broke a lamp while cleaning. We hope to visit Sandpiper again. We loved it.

Chincoteague Family Reunion

Sandpiper House was a great base for a wonderful vacation with our children and grandchildren. My husband and I shared the house with my daughter's family of 4, while my two sons and their families stayed at another property on the next block. The bedroom layout at Sandpiper House gave both families their own space, and the den was a nice hang-out for the kids. We really appreciated the ample storage in the bedrooms and bathrooms so we could unpack and get comfortable. The spacious living/dining rooms, well-appointed kitchen, and huge dining table made it easy to gather for a few special meals with my sons' families. I think we would have enjoyed the deck had we visited when there were fewer mosquitoes, but the house was so bright and airy that we didn't feel we'd missed out. The pine trees surrounding the house added atmosphere and privacy, even giving cover for visiting wildlife. Ellen was so easy to work with and quick to respond whenever I had a question. Check-in was easy, although we would have appreciated either a second key or a keypad entry. There were so many thoughtful touches throughout the house that made our stay a real pleasure. I'd be happy to stay there again!

Ellen's home was perfect! I took my daughter, son-in-law, and 7 year old grandson and the layout of the home was perfect! I had the master with master bath, and they had the other two bedrooms with bath. There was plenty of room to spend time together and also apart. The couch in the living room was very comfy if one needed to sleep there and there also a futon in the entry room. The kitchen has everything you need, including cooking oil, salt, pepper, and other seasonings. Appliances were new and there were also a great blender and numerous coffee makers (keurig, regular, etc.) I loved the pots and pans so much, I bought myself a set when I got back home. Comforters and blankets are provided but you need to bring your own sheets and towels. (don't forget a kitchen towel if you don't want to use paper towels all the time). There is a Family Dollar just a few minutes away to pick up things you may need. The location was perfect as well. Tucked away so you didn't feel like you were in tourist-land, but so close to everything! Ellen was very responsive and helpful as well. I would definitely stay again if visiting the area.

New favorite rental property!!!

My family loves vacationing in Chincoteague, this was our first time staying at the Sandpiper House. The location is perfect, just a short walk to family friendly activities, crabbing and the Pony Express. I can't stress enough how conveniently located this home is for families with teenagers and young adults. The house is spacious, the decor is relaxing, and what we enjoyed the most was the outside deck area. Offers a grill for the days you just want to relax and don't feel like going out. Another huge plus was that vaccum, broom, etc were easily accessible. (Actually rented a place once that didn't have those items). All furnishing was clean, comfortable and in great condition. We are also big on recycling so we really appreciated that besides all the info for area attractions, restaurants and events there was also information on the recycling/trash drop off location. Finally, Ellen is absolutely amazing to work with. Great communication, received the key and map in plenty of enough time that we didn't have to stress wether they'd arrive or not. Contacted me shortly after we booked with information regarding the area and the home. That was a first for us and we have been renting vacation rentals for the last 12 years, multiple times a year; it was nice to have that interaction!!! We were originally upset when we learned that place we have previously rented in the area is no longer a rental but ended up extremely pleased with Sandpiper House and look forward to next year. Perfect except that without a washer and dryer we had some trying times when the grandkids decided to run into the ocean with their clothes on! Wet salty, sandy clothes that didn't dry outside and had to be taken to the nearest laundry which is not close!

My husband, daughters, grandchildren and I enjoy this house immensely! We started coming here when the girls were little, they are now full grown with children. We live in Garrett Park, Maryland and love to come to Chincoteague to relax and enjoy the quiet island life. A regular day in Chincoteague for us is going for a bike ride around the nature reserve to the beach, swimming and playing in the water, followed by some relaxation on the deck with a glass of white wine and an amazing seafood dinner,

We love this house and are really happy to be able to share it now with brand new floors, new paint, and many other upgrades!

Our family has been vacationing in Chincoteague since the early 1970s. We first owned a house in town on Chicken City Road, but when the Maddox family decided to sell Piney Island, we jumped at the chance to build a little house in the Piney woods. With my own children now grown, we have a new tradition of bringing our young grandchildren here to enjoy the magic and beauty of Chincoteague. While much of the beach towns of the eastern shore have changed quite a bit over the last 40 years, so much of what makes Chincoteague unique and special-- the wildlife refuge for bird and pony-watching, the quiet peacefulness, the 'fishermans-town' feel of Chincoteague, remain the same.

Our house is located on Piney Island, a15 min walk/5 min. bike ride from the entrance to Assateague National Seashore. It is close to everything (restaurants, the best bbq place on the island, surf shop, bike rentals, family dollar for essentials) and yet Piney Island is remote, quiet peaceful. There are very few parts of Chincoteague that are this relaxing and mellow.

The house itself is surrounded by pine trees. At night you'll hear the trees whispering in the night breezes and see the lighthouse flashing from across the channel. You are one street from the water!

For kayaking and boating, the Piney Island community has a boat launch right down the road a short 5 minutes away. The Assateague Channel is also about 500 feet (stones throw) from the house, so though you are not right on the water, you are always surrounded by the fresh salt air and cool breezes.
