La Pokade

We are a family of 6 adults who stayed at La Pokade from 22-29July 2023. The villa was well situated for our needs, close to bars, restaurants and the beach (need a car) but quiet and private when at the villa. The villa has a lovely well maintained pool. The outside kitchen/ dining area was well used. The bedrooms were clean and well appointed and the kitchen had everything that you could need for a short stay. The villa itself has a good level of comfort, but also keeping the feeling of a family home. There are two points that I wish to make. One is on the VRBO website which states arrival from 5pm, with no cut off time. I have spoken to the owner who assured me that house rule no2 states a check-in time of 5-8pm. I haven’t been able to find that, but it did require me to negotiate with the owner prior to arrival as we were well outside that time frame. We did come to an amicable agreement. The other point is that many of the plates and mugs were chipped. I flagged that to the owner who was happy to sort it out on his next visit to the property. As a family we enjoyed our experience at La Pokade very much. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful.

Wir waren zwei Familien mit insgesamt fünf Kinder. Das Haus bietet viel Platz. Die Zimmer im oberen Stock sind geräumig, Wohnzimmer und Küche im unteren Stock sind gross. Der Pool ist ausgezeichnet, da er auch für Erwachsene tief genug ist. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Mit dem Auto ist man in max. 10 Minuten am Meer. Es gibt im Umkreis von 5 - 10 Minuten zahlreiche und verschiedenste Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Die Vermieter sind hilfsbereit und unkompliziert und reagieren schnell, wenn man Fragen oder Anliegen hat. Wir konnten unsere Ferien in vollen Zügen geniessen.

Lovely house near Cannes!!

We loved the house. It was very comfortable and spacious for 4 adults and 5 children. The house was clean and it is very well equipped, the kitchen has all you need to make yourself at home. The two grills made barbequeing easy for two families. The pool, the house and the gardens are regularly maintained. The kids and us loved the pool and playing games in the garden. Thanks to Michel and his sister for being helpful, friendly and always available. Overall, we loved our stay at Michel's house.

very confort house for family vacations

great house - not luxury but very comfortable. The bathrooms were new but the bath towels really small. AC in the whole house working fantastically in the very hot weather. The floor and windows were pretty dirty though... well equipped kitchen. Great pool with sun through the whole day 4 good sized rooms - the fifth is absolutely impossible to sleep due the terrible mould /damp smell. It is also located besides the BBQ and doesn't have AC To pay attention: - the daughter of the manager, who can do the cleaning, has only Saturday morning available. She wanted to charge 100 euros just to change the sheets and towels...no real cleaning included - The management is kind of tricky as the manager hardly spoke English. - the neighbours houses are very close, cross your fingers nobody is loud (we had to listen to some loud music) - rent a small car as the access to the house is though a lane with traffic from both sides and they don't drive slowly

Wunderschoenes Haus an der Côte d'Azur

Wir haben hier mit unserer fünfköpfigen Familie (Kinder 10, 13, 15 Jahre alt) 14 Tage Sommerurlaub verbracht und die überaus kompetente und freundliche Buchung mit dem Vermieter zu schätzen gewusst. Es handelt sich um ein sehr schönes, geräumiges und sauberes Haus, mit einer geschmackvollen und hochwertigen Einrichtung in allen Zimmern. Die große und gut durchdachte Küche eignet sich sehr gut zum Kochen, eine Außenküche im Garten mit Blick auf den Pool ist zum Grillen gut geeignet. Jedes Zimmer verfügt über ein eigenes Bad, was zu einem entspannten Aufenthalt mit beiträgt. Das geräumige Wohnzimmer ist ebenso ansprechend. Der weitläufige Garten lädt zum Boule- und Federballspielen ein, der Pool ist sehr sauber und schön gestaltet. Das Haus befindet sich in einer sehr ruhigen Lage nicht weit vom Meer entfernt. Die Nähe zu Städten wie Antibes, Cannes, Nizza, Saint Tropez und Grasse erlaubt diverse Ausflüge. Der freundliche Vermieter war stets darum bemüht, uns den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Wir können dieses Feriendomizil auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen, da wir uns hier sehr wohlgefühlt haben und würden unsere Ferien hier gerne wieder verbringen!

Wunderschönes Haus an der Côte d'Azur

Wir haben mit unserer fünfköpfigen Familie (Kinder 10, 13, 15 Jahre alt) 14 Tage an der Côte d'Azur verbracht und dieses Haus sowie die überaus freundliche und kompetente Abwicklung mit dem Vermieter zu schätzen gewusst. Großzügiges Haus in absolut ruhiger Lage nicht weit vom Meer entfernt. Sehr schöne, geschmackvolle und hochwertige Ausstattung in allen Zimmern. Das ganze Haus ist sehr sauber und gepflegt. Große, sehr schöne Küche, in der es sich sehr gut kochen lässt sowie eine Außenküche mit Blick auf den Pool. Das Haus eignet sich sehr gut für einen Familienurlaub, die Nähe zu Städten wie Cannes, Nizza, Antibes, Grasse und Saint Tropez sowie zum Meer erlauben viele erlebnisreiche Ausflüge. Der Pool ist großzügig, im weitläufigen Garten kann man Boule und Federball spielen. Die Vermieter erwiesen sich sets als hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir können diese Immobile nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen, da es uns hier sehr gut gefallen hat und wir hier unsere Ferien gerne wieder verbringen würden!

A nice quiet Villa

Fabulous villa. We were a group of friends together from around the world, some with children and some without. The layout was perfect with a beautiful private garden and a large pool. Worth getting up early to watch the sun rise over the ocean bay as many times as possible! We stayed for two weeks and it was a true home from home. Can't wait to go back.

Superbe séjour dans un cadre reposant

Très belle maison de caractère, typique de la cote d'azur où il fait bon vivre que ce soit dans la journée avec piscine et jardin ou sous le préau pour les apéritifs et repas du soir. Il y a tout le confort moderne dans cette maison de charme. Elle est assez proche de la cote pour le coté festif du séjour mais en reste suffisamment loin pour profiter de son calme reposant. On s'y sent bien. La fin du printemps est une période idéale pour profiter de la végétation en pleine explosion sans trop grosse chaleur. Accès facile avec l'autoroute et l'aéroport très proches. A refaire.

Easily, one of the most glorious vacations ever!

This house was a highlight of our trip to France. We had a wonderful stay for a week and would be delighted to return. Sitting by the large pool with the birds singing above was so relaxing, so inspiring. It was a perfect location to use as a base to visit this wonderful part of France. There is so much to see in the Riviera, but we also wanted to make certain that we spent time enjoying the house and pool. We did some wonderful sightseeing including Cannes, Antibes, Nice, Monaco, Saint Paul de Vence, Grasse and Gourdon. We spent a full day at the beach in Juan Les Pins. But we really enjoyed our time at the house, particularly playing boules (the French petanque) and ping pong as a family. The owners made us feel very comfortable and gave us a lot of good recommendations. Everything in the house was top notch, including the gourmet kitchen and the large bedrooms, which made our trip even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this house for your French Riviera vacation!

Lovely spacious holiday home on the French Riviera

« Villa La Pokade » is a delightful, spacious holiday home on the French Riviera. It is situated on the hills above the seaside village of Golfe-Juan at a very short distance from Cannes and Antibes and the beach. We have yet rented several houses on the French Riviera and this was easily the nicest. We had a family reunion there with nine people, coming from different continents. We landed in Nice just 15 miles away. We were delighted with the clean, modern, spacious living and sleeping accommodations of the house, its private bathrooms, its super well-equipped kitchen inside the house, the large outdoor summer kitchen where we spent our evenings and the large garden with its infinity pool. It was also convenient to have parking for up to eight cars. The owner provided excellent customer service. The way the house is laid out gave us more than enough room and we never felt in each other’s way. We often had different activities going on simultaneously. The second floor bedrooms provide a quiet reading refuge. The high-speed Internet with wifi throughout the house enabled those who were on a working holiday to operate a full work schedule. In the main living room others could watch international sporting events on the cable TV with major US channels. Outside, the very private terraces, the summer kitchen, the sun bathing areas or the lower Mediterranean garden and the pool by the side for a refreshing dip offered something for everyone. The kitchen is exceptionally spacious well equipped so that a number of cooks can operate simultaneously. Each generously sized bedroom has its own private bathroom. The teenagers had regular table tennis tournaments by the pool, others played pétanque in the shade of plain trees. Just a short walk from the house (or a quick car ride), we found four well-kept tennis courts at the Courcettes, which we were almost always available. For our excursions we loved the open markets in Cannes and Antibes, the beach which is only one mile away, the extraordinary choice of museums between Cannes and Monaco and the beautiful villages of the backcountry. Also the Gorges du Loup, the Parc of Mercantour and St Tropez were all within reach of the house. All in all, Villa La Pokade is a beautiful Provençal house that has been modernized and furnished to a superb standard to comfortably meet the needs of 9-10 people. We would highly recommend it to anyone as the ideal holiday home on the French Riviera.

Stunning property in the south of France

This house is simply stunning. We stayed there for a week in September. It is conveniently located, and allowed us to explore the beautiful Provence very easily. The house and grounds are tastefully decorated and maintained, gorgeous garden and pool, perfect to laze around and enjoy the hot south of France sun and have aperitifs with friends. I highly recommend it.

Belle maison provençale à deux pas de la mer

Très belle maison provençale ! Tout y est fait pour le plaisir de ses hôtes ! Les chambres et salles de bain sont vastes et impeccables. Superbe maison provençale

Superbe maison provençale où tout est fait pour se sentir "comme à la maison". Les chambres "en suite" sont spacieuses, impeccables et décorées avec goût. La cuisine à l'américaine est superbe et l'immense salon/salle à manger est très convivial. Les belles terrasses luxueusement aménagées et la piscine vous invitent au repos dans le calme d'un jardin qui sent bon la Provence. Lieu idéal pour des vacances en famille ! Le temps y passe trop vite ! Maison très agréable à recommander vivement!

Beautiful house on a quiet location close to beach

La Pokade is a beautiful house on a quiet location in Golfe Juan. It is close to the town, the harbour and to several beaches. We enjoyed staying there a lot. The house is well kept, charmingly decorated and was clean. The large kitchen is well utilized and the "cuisine d'éte" is a great place to eat, read or just hang out any time of day. The pool is heavenly with a good view on the beautifully kept garden.The neighbourhood is nice and quiet and the house is close to the A8 highway, it takes only 25 minutes to get to Nice Airport. Take the seaside road in the direction on Cannes or Antibes for beautiful views. Or go more in land to the lovely villages of Mougins or Valbonne. The area has a lot to offer. The whole family enjoyed staying here very much. We can fully recommend the house!

Magnificent!!!

I spent a week with my partner at La Pokade last September. As an owner of vacation properties myself in the U.S, I was immensely impressed by the overall beauty and comfort of the property, as well as by the attention to detail. The villa is situated on beautifully maintained grounds, which I walked daily, taking in the many different plant species, from fruit trees to lavender outlining the path. I was able to sit and read or listen, quietly, on the benches or chairs perfectly placed throughout the property. I especially enjoyed the pool. As a swimmer, I was easily able to swim laps. Each bedroom is spacious, with a private bath, desk, and wardrobe. At times, I would just enjoy the privacy of my sun-lit room. Other times, we entertained, using the gourmet kitchen which was not lacking any utensil we might possibly need. The living spaces are beautifully designed and furnished, allowing us not only comfort, but a visual feast. Finally, the property is well situated to the town, the sea, and the many sites in that part of France. One week was not nearly enough time to explore - so we will definitely be back!

Agréable séjour à La Pokade

Nous avons séjourné 4 semaines à la Pokade en compagnie de nos amis et avons énormément aprécié le charme et confort de La Pokade. Les prestations de la villa sont à la hauteur de nos attentes, les chambres sont spacieuses, la literie confortable, chaque chambre possède sa propre salle de bain, ce qui est idéal lorsque l'on est nombreux ainsi que la cllimatisation qui est fort apréciable en période estivale. La vaste cuisine est parfaitement équipée et permet de cuisiner entre amis... Le patio à proximité de la cuisine et à quelques pas de la piscine est idéalement situé et devient le lieu de vie privilégié en été. Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour à La Pokade et espérons y revenir prochainement.

La Pokade

Nous avons choisi cette maison en raison du nombre de chambres et de l'espace cuisine/salle à manger. Nous avons découvert une très belle propriété récemment rénovée avec goût, bien équipée et située dans un endroit calme de Golfe Juan. La maison possède de grandes chambres avec chacune leur salle de bain privée. L'aire de vie autour de la cuisine est très grand et facilite les réunions familiales. Même en hiver, le jardin était très agréable avec son aménagement. En plus de la piscine, il y a une cuisine d'été qui doit être fort sympatique durant l'été. Nous avons tous très apprécié ce séjour à La Pokade.

Villa La POKADE 5 stars

We spent 15 wonderful days at the villa La Pokade. The villa is a great place to stay with all the comfort needed, the best and state of the art equipment, a californian kitchen, large living room, 4 bedrooms each with its own character, 4 functional bathrooms, a nice terrasse to have meals with a view on the pool and a very nicely designed garden -this garden was a delight for the kids. To these excellent features, it is worth adding that Internet and TV worked perfectly well. Our stay was great and if we return to the Côte d'Azur, we certainly return to La Pokade!

Although living in the US since 1979, I always wanted to go back to the Riviera, in general, and to the village of Golfe-Juan, in particular, where I spent endless summers with my family when I was growing up in France. Since 2006, I am enjoying La Pokade 4 to 5 months a year. Between sailing, skiing, hiking and golfing, little time remains to relax but reliving his childhood 'souvenirs' is fun for a happy retiree.

An opportunity stroke in 2005 when my cousin sent me pictures of a provencal house nested on the hills above Golfe in a peaceful and very private setting but only minutes away from the buzz of Antibes, Juan les Pins and Cannes. Keeping the old walls and the original character of the property, I had the house entirely rebuilt, an infinity pool was added and a new soothing garden was created. Since then friends and family are joining me every year when I am down there. A sure sign that they love the place!

The seclusion that La Pokade offers after a day at the beach, golfing, hiking or visiting the surroundings, is a gem. Noise is reduced to hearing the crickets or the birds singing, or the wind in the 'pins parasols'. The property offers total privacy and allows real rest. Kids have a safe environment to play and families can gather on the terraces around the pool or in the summer kitchen for memorable moments.
