Kennebunk Beach always holds wonderful memories of being a young child at Mother's Beach, exploring the tidal pools and discovering the vibrant sea life. School field trips were a delight, learning about the unique eco-system of the marshes and the myriad forms of life they support. Fishing on the river for "blues" was a cherished pastime, as was riding a bike, and later driving a car, to the beach as a teenager to hang out with friends.
Bringing my own kids to the beach and seeing them experience the same joys I did has been a particularly fulfilling part of living in this coastal community. The cycle of life by the sea continues, connecting past and present, and enriching each moment spent on these beloved shores.
