Haiku es un retiro privado en Acre of Land-20% Especial de verano

Acercate a la calle La abundante belleza natural de John con esta casa aislada y asequible en una isla. A solo unos minutos en automóvil de Cruz Bay, HAIKU es la primera casa de estilo caribeño tradicional diseñada por un arquitecto construida en la isla. Diseñado en el estilo nativo de las Indias Occidentales influenciado por las grandes casas de plantación danesas, Haiku está construido en un piso al nivel del suelo, es seguro para los niños y tiene acceso para sillas de ruedas. La entrada se realiza a través de una puerta de jardín, más allá de la cual se encuentra un pabellón de sala / comedor al aire libre cubierto, hecho de piedra colocada a mano. Los vientos alisios de la isla lo mantienen fresco mientras descansa en la sala de estar, come en la mesa del comedor o simplemente disfruta de la paz y la tranquilidad del patio alicatado. Un jardín de flores y árboles nativos proporciona sombra y tranquilidad no solo para usted, sino también para las aves y los animales de las islas. Mientras se refresca en la piscina del patio, puede detectar una de las iguanas residentes que se alimentan de las flores del jardín.
Las dos habitaciones con baño disponen de aire acondicionado y separados por la sala de estar / comedor, lo que permite privacidad para dos parejas. Un tercer dormitorio se encuentra junto a la suite principal y perfecto para otra pareja o hijos. Además, hay una ducha al aire libre para lavar toda la arena que has acumulado al disfrutar de St. Las playas fenomenales de Juan.
La cocina está totalmente equipada con una estufa de cuatro quemadores, horno, microondas, tostadora, licuadora para cócteles, refrigerador y mucho espacio en el armario y en el mostrador. Se proporciona vajilla, vasos, cubiertos, utensilios de cocina y utensilios, así como colchonetas, paños de cocina, una parrilla de gas y otras comodidades para que cocinar sea fácil y divertido. Una lavadora, secadora y tendedero se encuentran detrás de la cocina. El camino de entrada puede acomodar fácilmente dos vehículos, así que invite a nuevos amigos a tomar una copa después de anochecer mientras se maravilla del luminoso cielo nocturno.

Awesome place to relax!

We really loved our stay at Haiku. We loved being in open air living room with gentle breezes The location of the house is very close to town. We enjoyed exploring North Beaches and then going out for dinner at Cruz Bay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Loved our stay at Haiku! Beautiful setting and accommodations. Kitchen was well equipped and beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler were provided. Enjoyed watching the birds and iguanas. Both the pool and the hot tub were a great way to relax after hiking or snorkeling. The main living area is open air, but there was always a pleasant breeze. Highly recommend!

Living in the islands

We loved it here! I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous about the outdoor living room and animals and insects that come with outdoor living, but everything blew away our expectations. So thoughtfully designed - multiple outdoor showers, hot tub, pool, washer dryer - and immaculately well kept. Even when we were just sitting around playing cards, we felt like we were on an island adventure. We saw iguanas, frogs, all kinds of birds and other lizards - kids could not have been happier. Thank you for making this trip extraordinarily special.

Family fun

We wanted a house with a pool so the kids could entertain themselves when we were home. Loved the outdoor living space (a little buggy for about an hour at dusk) and it was exactly what our family of 5 was looking for.

This place spoiled us

My favorite VRBO ever. The outdoor living room, the pool and view, the separate bedrooms and bath were perfect for our family. The location was great - quiet and convenient. The landscaping was amazing. And the service from the property manager was excellent. A special shout out to the patient woman who helped us get settled in.

Outdoor retreat

We enjoyed our stay very much. We were thankful for the greeter who met us in town and guided us to the house. One tip if you are ordering groceries to pick up, the Dolphin Market in Chocolate Hole is right on the way to the house. The house is an open pavilion for the living and dining areas and we mostly hung out on the porch swing. Bedrooms and kitchen are screened/enclosed. You are definitely a part of nature at this retreat. Lizards, birds, even a deer in our driveway one day. The birds sang/chirped us to sleep at night. The kitchen and bath fixtures are older but was clean. I greatly appreciated all the kitchen stuff - Ninja blender, pots and pans, cooking utensils, Tupperware, and pantry staples/spices/oil. There are coolers and beach chairs provided for the beaches. We enjoyed floating in the pool on the provided loungers. Did not try the hot tub. We would stay here again if we could convince our kids to come with us.Overall advice for St. John is the Crown Bay ferry, if the times work out it with your flight schedule it is much more pleasant than a taxi to Red Hook.

Open air Gem

Very relaxing area, and fairly easy to get to if you know the island. Close to the grocery stores. Had some challenges with meeting up with our greeters, but our flights were delayed. House is very open air, the details say bedrooms are air-conditioned, but there are no windows, just screens and a curtain in one room. But the in room air-conditioning did cool it down quickly at night. The others have wooden crank shutters. I would call it more like" Glamping". But we adapted and welcomed the lizards for morning coffee and accepted that you will be showering with the small friends and spiders. Some of the pool chairs are showing serious sun damage and we couldn't use them. There are other obvious signs of wear in several areas. I've stayed on the island the last 4 years at different places, and for the conditions it's priced a bit high, in my opinion. But you can't beat the privacy and having a pool to yourself.

Our stay at Haiku

Haiku’s property was private and comfortable. The common living area had an open island feel; complete with a pool, jacuzzi, and lush gardens throughout. I felt safe in the quiet neighborhood. We took after-dinner walks to watch the sunset. We met some of the friendly neighbors along the way. There is a locked entrance gate, as well as locked kitchen and air conditioned bedroom areas. Speaking of the kitchen, it was well equipped with everything you need for cooking and eating in. We utilized the grill as well. There were food markets nearby; not walking distance however. The washer and dryer were nice to have as well, although we didn’t need it. We overpacked. All we needed was a few bathing suits, a bathing suit cover, and a few shorts and t-shirts, if that. They also provided beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels for our beach outings. My husband and I, as well as his sister and her significant other had a wonderful time and are looking forward to booking another vacation at Haiku next year!

Haiku is paradise

Haiku is the perfect place to spend a week in beautiful St. John. The view is amazing, the landscaping is wonderful. The house is very well stocked and with that gorgeous view of Chocolate Hole, we ended up eating dinner at Haiku 6 of the 7 nights we were there! The open air floor plan in the living/dining area and the multiple seating areas around the pool give you plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the break from winter at home. We enjoyed every minute at Haiku and hope to return there in the future

Enjoyed our stay!

My family, including 2 kids (7 & 9), just stayed for 5 nights as our fall break trip. The house was great for our stay. The open concept made relaxing at the house still feel like a relaxing island vacation. The pool is small, but served our needs well and was used every day. The location was nice - easy to find and not far from town and shopping.

Just Heaven

This house is very well equipped. Beach towels,chairs,coolers all ready for the beach. AC in bedrooms was nice touch. The open air living space is amazing. Might need spray since all the rain they are having a field day. Thermo cell units would be a plus. Didn’t use the hot tub but pool every day.

Everything was perfect. Great communication with property mgr. The greeter met us at the ferry to drive us to the property. The house was great. Everything we needed. King bed was comfortable. Pool, jacuzzi was nice. Kitchen stocked. Beach towels, coolers, chairs. Highly recommend

Perfect Island Retreat

This is exactly the type of house I wanted while staying on an island. The open living is great to experience the outdoors while the AC and shutters in the rooms provided a nice respite when needed from the heat. The property is exactly as pictured, it's private, and there was lots of fun wildlife to observe. The pool was the perfect size and small things like nice bath and beach towels was much appreciated. Definitely recommend staying at Haiku!

Beautiful Location and View

Haiku is a lovely house, the grounds are beautiful and private. The natural setting with Birds and Lizards is delightful. The Amenities, TVs, games, Books, Cooking Equipment, Laundry facilities were all you need to make your stay easy.

Great home

We all enjoyed the outdoor living area and views! The beds were comfy and the kitchen was plenty stocked. The washer & dryer were handy too! The ocean breeze kept us cool with no bugs, and a/c in the bedrooms made for great sleeping. I did not like leaving the driveway, there are bushes that block the view of any cars on the road. The location to Cruz bay was very convenient, however heading the other direction (south something rd) was really treacherous to drive ( steep hills and hairpin turns) After the third day I realized driving into Cruz bay and taking centerline was way less scary. Overall a great stay and if we ever go back to STJ we’d book again.

Paradise with a view

This was our first time on St. John. 5 adults stayed. We had plenty of room. The pool and hot tub were great additions though we didn’t spend much time in them. Sitting at the dining table provided a wonderful breeze. We saw lots of wildlife. There were cards and games, 3 coolers, about 10 beach chairs, extra toiletries, detergent, and other extras available for use. The room with the twin beds put together was not as comfortable as a bed. The windows don’t close to help keep room cooler with AC, but there is a ceiling fan and oscillating fan available in that room. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

We love the island of St. John for its natural beauty, slow pace, upbeat and friendly islanders, gorgeous beaches, colorful coral reefs, hiking trails, and Caribbean shopping.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Haiku has wonderful views. When one looks outward, everywhere you look is another beautiful vista both close by and in the distance, yet privacy is maintained. The unique architectural style of Haiku allows cooling trade winds to flow through the rooms. Many of the island animals take advantage of the garden’s native plantings. It is not unusual to see, iguanas, lizards, butterflies and birds of all kinds visiting Haiku while you’re there. Put some sugar out in the bird feeder to lure hummingbirds and bananaquits. Some of the best moments come just lounging in the swimming pool, looking at the sailboats in Chocolate Hole, having an evening cocktail while watching the sun set, or relaxing in the hot tub while seeing the Milky Way more clearly than you ever could in a city.
