Bambooshay Villa - Vistas impresionantes de Coral Bay, St. ¡John!

Bienvenido a Bambooshay, St. ¡John!

"Bambooshay" es una palabra creole que significa "disfrutar de ti mismo; divertirse." Acuñado durante la temporada de Carnaval en la década de 1950, la palabra se origina en "Bambula," una vieja danza africana que se realiza hoy a través de una danza única "segunda línea" que se realiza al ritmo de jazz tradicional de Nueva Orleans. Juerguistas durante carnaval hoy a menudo se oyen gritar "Bambooshay!" ya que participan en las festividades de la temporada.

En una sola palabra, Bambooshay encarna el espíritu y la actitud que hemos encontrado desde el Caribe hasta Nueva Orleans, y realmente esperamos que disfrutar y pasar un buen rato en St. John. Bambooshay!

Los huéspedes llegan a Cruz Bay, donde los muelles de ferry, y tendrán que alquilar un coche para continuar a la privacidad de la villa.

Dos caminos se hacen señas. El camino de la orilla del Norte, que serpentea pasado Trunk Bay, y muchas otras playas tropicales que son ideales para bucear y nadar, y la línea central del camino, que serpentea a lo largo de las tierras altas, que ofrece vistas de la Bahía de Coral y las Islas Vírgenes Británicas.

La casa, construida para dos, tiene un dormitorio (y un colchón autoinflable para un visitante adicional), una sala de estar y un baño moderno. La cocina está equipada con una estufa de gas, parrilla, frigorífico, lavavajillas, cafetera, tostadora y licuadora y está equipada con ollas y sartenes. Los ventiladores de techo y puertas francesas mantienen fresco el interior.
Tal vez lo mejor de todo, la villa cuenta con una amplia terraza con una ducha al aire libre, y es ideal para comer al aire libre, tomar el sol, mirar las estrellas o recibiendo un masaje. Un gran hamaca para dos es un buen lugar para dormir la siesta, leer o disfrutar de la vista.

Si usted se siente más como explorar, tomar un corto de 8 minutos a pie hasta Seagrape Hill para disfrutar de los restaurantes y tiendas de la Bahía de Coral. Caminata a lo largo de la cercana Johnny Cuerno Trail o visitar la iglesia de Moravia, al pie de Seagrape Hill. El St. Playas del Parque Nacional Juan se encuentran a poca distancia en coche.

An incredible getaway

Perfect location, beautiful and comfortable home with all the amenities you could want. Could not recommend staying here enough. While we did not need to use the generator during our stay, it was great to know it was available.

Great Home in an Awesome Location!!

Bambooshay was the perfect home in the perfect location! We loved the layout as well as the views and amenities! Tammy was awesome and we plan to book again upon returning to St. John! This location on Coral Bay was easy to access even with wet/slick roads and truly only minutes to hiking and Northshore beaches!Its layout and design has added to our design ideas for St. John as well!Thank you!!We look forward to staying again!

Perfect stay!

Bambooshay was awesome, we would definitely stay there again if we go back to STJ. Tammy was communicative and helpful, I wasn't feeling well the day we arrived and she bent over backwards to get us an early check-in so I could rest. The view is amazing, the kitchen is well-stocked, the house is super clean with tons of room for a family of 4 adults. Having a generator was a great peace of mind, and we are so glad we chose the Coral Bay area for its peacefulness. The drive up was no big deal after a couple times - just watch for the sleeping goats in the road after dark! Thank you Tammy!

Perfect in every way

It's an astounding feat to build and maintain a property in an environment like STJ, yet the owners did and rebuilt after Irma. The home is solid, literally and figuratively. The kitchen is spacious and was a joy to cook in. The appliances were top notch and I cooked on the outside Weber grill several times. The pool was the perfect size and could not have been cleaner. My husband enjoyed the hot tub, as he runs cold, even in tropical weather. The elevation of the home ensures that you get the breezes, it's lovely. Tammy, the manager was available momentarily by text or call and was pleasant. If you want to be in Coral Bay, away from the crowds and hustle, there could be no better place.

Bambooshay is Amazing!!

Loved the house, Loved the location on a hill overlooking Coral Bay. Comfortable 2-bedroom home, with a well-equipped kitchen. Enjoyed waking up to the most amazing view of Coral Bay from the wrap-around deck. Ultimate privacy. Finished most days on the deck with a drink/snack, oftentimes floating in the lap pool right on the deck! There's an easy-to-use hot tub too! Great stay, would stay again. Beautiful side of St. John, I'd highly recommend staying in Coral Bay - quieter side of the island, but still close to everything. Oh, and definitely go out to the Lime Out taco boat in the Bay, so much fun!

Wonderful Stay

We had a great stay at Bambooshay! The villa was well decorated and the view was phenomenal! When we were not out and about, we spent hours and hours in the pool, the hot tub and on the deck. Tammy was wonderful to deal with and was so helpful throughout our stay. Great experience - highly recommend!!

Beautiful mountain view

Peaceful & Private Great quiet location if you want to stay away from the crowds and tourists. Hiking, beaches, and small local family restaurants. Rent your jeep ( a must need) on St Thomas and ferry it over with your food for the week. Tammy, the property mgr. is the best!!!

The pictures on here don’t do it justice! The location, the view, the pool…everything was absolutely incredible! My husband and I went for our 16 year wedding anniversary, but it would also be the perfect for place to bring kids. And my husband and I planning on doing just that for our next trip!

Bambooshay Paradise

We absolutely loved our stay at Bambooshay. Scott and Tammy were wonderful to work with and we plan on staying again whenever we come back to St. John. The villa was nice, clean, and had everything we would need. Our favorite part was the outside area. We spent most of our time while at the villa either hanging on the deck enjoying the beautiful views, swimming, or in the hot tub. My favorite thing about the villa was being able to swim under the stars! Truly felt like a paradise dream!

Great stay @ Bambooshay!

The property has two well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms with working AC units. The pool/hot tub are small but perfect for a dip. Perfect location <10 min drive to all the major restaurants in Coral Bay (not super walkable due to the steep incline of the drive up). They also have three snorkel sets, a cooler, and four beach chairs to borrow along with many beach towels. Loved staying on this side of the island and would definitely stay here again!

Quiet, beautiful getaway

My husband & I stayed at bambooshay for the back half of our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. The quiet, secluded area was just perfect after being in Cruz Bay for a few days. The villa is close enough to plenty of restaurants, hikes, and activities while still feeling like you’re in the middle of nowhere. View from the porch in the morning is absolutely insane. I want coffee there every day!! Pool and hot tub were a nice excuse to stay in and relax on both hit or cold days. We rented a boat right in coral bay and got to explore all the coves, snorkel, and of course hit Lime Out. The house is set up perfectly for 2 couples or a small family. AC was great, and all the appliances you need in great condition. Definitely need a good car to get up the hill to the property. Can’t wait to go back!!

Coral Bay Serenity

Bambooshay villa was the perfect getaway for what we enjoy. Perfectly located. Perched high on a hill with all the privacy one could ask for yet easy access to trails, grocery and restaurants. Located on the quiet end of the island. Views from the deck overlooking the perfectly sized infinity pool are world class. Tammy, the property manager, was the perfect host. Top notch communication and always willing to help with anything needed. Highly recommended.

Spotless and Welcoming

Well-stocked kitchen with all the equipment you might need. Very comfortable and of course, a stellar view from the heights of this property. Access road had four very tight switchbacks that we were unable to navigate in the rain one night, despite having a jeep with 4 wheel drive. It was quite terrifying to fishtail and backslide on such a steep grade in the dark! We were also surprised to discover that we were supposed to wash the bedding and towels and clean all the dishes before we left. Disposing of the garbage maybe made sense, but the price does include a cleaning fee, after all.

My wife and I chose St John and Bambooshay to celebrate our 60th birthdays that fall only a few weeks apart. We could not be more pleased with the home! The pictures understate the beauty of the home and stunning views. The changing light of the sun during the day brought a beautiful new view of Coral Bay to enjoy every hour. The home is wonderfully equipped with all the little details, kitchen equipment etc to allow us to feel at home immediately. The pool and separate hot tub were used every day and the natural trees, bamboo and shrubs surrounded the home in privacy and added to the secluded, remote experience of Coral Bay we were seeking. We are animal lovers and so the plethora of chickens and goats roaming about was as added bonus. The property manager, Tammy, was super helpful and attentive before, during and after our stay. Would love to return one day! Thank you Scott for sharing your amazing home!

If looking for a remote experience away from Cruz Bay, I highly recommend Bambooshay in Coral Bay.

The house is a perfect 2 bedroom 2 bath for 2 couples or family with 2 small children. You’ll need to rent a car as Coral Bay is fairly remote, but the privacy and access to Hanson Bay (14 min), Salt Pond (14 min), Maho (12 min), & Francis Bay (12 min) are both excellent. House is well stocked. We made smoothies daily and hung in the jacuzzi nightly. There is a grocery albeit small and a smattering of eateries. And if interested in Skinny Legs, I’m not sure if you could get closer (Although not walkable for most due to the incline to and from).

Two years and counting!

This was our second time staying at Bambooshay and we've already booked for next year. St. John is the perfect vacation for us and Bambooshay completes it. Bambooshay is everything we need and the location is perfect. The balcony is very private and affords beautiful vistas both during the day and at night. The cottage is always very clean and tidy when we arrive. It has all the amenities we require. It's less than a 5 minute drive to the great restaurants and bars in Coral Bay. It's close to our favorite hiking and snorkeling sites. Prior to visiting St. John we stayed at all-inclusive 5-star resorts in the Carribean. St. John and Bambooshay is the only vacation that we have taken that we have not wanted to try some place else the following year. The owners, Scott and Lori, are very accommodating. The first year they gave us great tips for making our vacation that much better. It's great!

Bambooshay Review

Bambooshay is great. We love the layout of the house and it has everything you need in terms of kitchen, entertainment, etc. We have stayed in SJ 6 times over the last 13 years and while we have rented some pretty nice multi bedroom places in the off season at reduced rates and we liked Bambooshay the most; we will definitely be back when needing a 1 BR place. The short walk down Seagrape Hill to Skinny Legs was fun and no biggie (we do like to run and excercise so keep that in mind, the hill is fairly steep) and we did it many times. We loved being just up the hill from Skinny Legs, the fire station, the moravian chuch, donkey diner, the school, and that whole area of Coral Bay. We also like the flat land making up the front yard was great, the privacy was great, and the deck has awesome views of Coral Bay and Bordeaux Mtn especially towards the evening when the ridge line lights up with the sun behind it making Coral Bay and the valley just a spectacular sight. We loved the laid back arrival and departure. Thanks for a great rental!

The original Bambooshay only had one bedroom which was fine when it was just the two of us. But we were blessed with a baby girl in 2012 so we decided to add a second bedroom when we rebuilt after the storm. When we can't be here we reside in Dallas, TX. We enjoy sailing, going to the beach, snorkeling and standup paddle boarding.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We looked all over the Caribbean and ended up choosing St. John for many reasons: pristine beaches, 2/3 of the island is US National Park (protected from over development), US property rights and contract law. We chose this property for the views and the (rare) flat build - no stairs or steep grades! St. John is a magical place that captured our hearts and we hope to retire here one day soon!
