Spend memorable times in your private hot tub treating your muscles to a soothing bath after a long walk on the beach, or hosting delicious barbecues on the patio using the provided gas grill. Inside, this welcoming abode provides you with an inviting living area. Spread out comfortably on the sofa as you stream a favorite show, movie, or sports game on the smart TV. There are board games and free WiFi to keep you entertained as well. When mealtime comes, whip up a delicious treat or homemade meal in the full kitchen. The bedroom enjoys a smart TV for added entertainment and comfort.

When we arrived to the unit, the door code did not work. There was a lock box but we were not given the code. Since there was no cell service , we had to drive 15 minutes down the road until we had service and contacted the property management company. We were able to get a hold of them and got the lock box code. Rather than go on, here are our takeaways: - photos do not look like property.- tons of mosquitos.- the hot tub is maybe 2 feet deep so you cannot sit down or have more than two people. - dishes were not clean. Some had rust. - the bed was very uncomfortable and hard to get in and out of as it was sunken in somehow. - everything was smaller than expected. - the bathroom is similar to a small RV. I could barely sit down and use the restroom. - weird animal smell almost like urine.- hot water in shower maybe lasts 5 minutes. All in all, I cannot honestly say I would reccomend this place to anyone.

Cabin was definitely clean, lots of dust and spiders. I think some dusting behind the bed and in the bathroom could be done. The couch had large stains and hair on it. The hot tub was very cold when we arrived and seemed to be broken, every time we turned it up and it would get up to temp and then drop back down. The key pad to get into the cabin was dead when we arrived and we couldn’t get in for some time.

We loved our stay here! The cabin is tucked away in the trees giving a feeling of privacy, and the views are beautiful. The hot tub was so relaxing surrounded by moss covered trees. Even the views from the windows while sitting inside were so serene, it was overall a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. We would absolutely stay again!

Trailer park in the forest

Beautiful old forest. Definitely not a resort. Its like half a trailerpark. Partly an rvcampground with cabins on top and bottom in different stages of decay. We stayed our full 2nights. Hot tub finally tipped over 100degrees about 6am the morning we had to be out. No breakfast or restaurant. Coffee pot was broken ontop glass area. And office was not open at all.

Do not stay here!

Absolutely do not recommend! The hot tub was murky like it hasn’t been changed in a while couldn’t see our legs with the jets off. The deck of the whole place had never been swept pine needles, moss, acorns, dirt, sand, anything you can imagine and it just comes right inside! The BBQ did not work there was no lighter we had to buy one and it still didn’t work! The coffee maker pot was broken and there was no complementary coffee as stated in the events binder. There was never any parking permits for the local area as stated in the binder. There was Spiders in the bathroom we found more than 2 spiders in the bathroom upper ceiling and on the floor and the cabinet when you first walk in. The dishes didn’t feel as washed the bed makes your back hurt. Don’t ever stay at this place! When talking to vacasa they said the “local team” will reach out and didn’t reach back out to us. Absolutely horrible experience, customer experience, and amenities!

Stay was disappointing

Came over for a weekend getaway. When we got into the place the floors were dirty. The rug in the kitchen had what appeared to have been food spilled and hadn’t been clean. There was hair on the bathroom walls and shower walls. The hot tub had leaves and other debris in it. The deck looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Couldn’t use the closet due to old heater and TV in the closet. Old BBQ in the parking space.

Sad to see the decline…..

Whales Head used to be a go to destination for us. But the obvious decline in quality and care is very evident. Lack of cleaning, broken appliances, barely serviceable furniture, and a bed that would torture even the strongest back was our experience. Not to mention that the entire cabin was leaning towards the creek side. I felt like I was walking on a ship. Needless to say, we don’t plan on returning.

Private Hot Tub in the Forest

I loved the private hot tub and the view from it. I feel like the cost accurately reflects its pros and cons. Pros: The view of the forest from the hot tub is very beautiful, and it’s also very private. The tub has colored lights, little fountains, & customizable temperature. The hot tub’s chlorine wasn’t too bad as someone with eczema & psoraisis. Theres also a BBQ that’s easy to use! There’s TV’s in both the Bedroom and Living Room. The kitchen is stocked with mostly everything you need except maybe measuring spoons and accurate measuring cups. Cons: Check-in issues; the door lock code didn’t work. There was no one in the Office at Whales Head, and they didn’t restock their park maps so we couldn’t even find the cabin for like 20+ minutes. We then had to drive 15 minutes away to get cell service to contact guest services for help with opening the door since there was no one was on site. Didn’t realize until after that we could have used the WiFi for help instead of driving all that way… It took nearly 2 hours to even get the door open. The whole Bathroom; the toilet and shower are not plus size friendly, the shower water pressure is very weak, and the hot water doesn’t last but 15 minutes. Kept ending up with cold showers no matter what. Cobwebs and spiders hanging out in the cabin; we killed 3 spiders while there and saw another one that escaped before we could get it. No coffee or tea provided, just a coffee maker and filters. No ice.

Great forested getaway!

Perfect for just us two people and our pup! Host was responsive, great location and all items from previous reviews seem to have been addressed (no rusted chairs, no chemical-ly hot tub, etc)

Anniversary Stay

Our rental was perfect for us. It was just my wife and myself and the size of the home was perfect i loved the trees surrounding it and we both loved how quiet it was, it gave you a chance to just relax and not worry much ablut anything.

We were disappointed to find out the day of check-in that the house we'd originally reserved at the top of the resort had structural problems but discovered a lot to love about this little cottage nestled into the bottom of the hill. The setting was the surprise serendipity. The constant sound of a rushing creek is loud but relaxing, like white noise . The rain-forest green vegetation has giant ferns and slugs of all sizes, and we ate apples hanging from a tree near the washing machines. The hike alongside the creek to the beach sounded cool, but we didn't have time. Instructions for unlocking the door were confusing, but everything else worked without a hitch—wifi, hot tub, TV and central heat (plus an extra space heater)—and kept us warm and cozy.

Lovely quiet cabin, but the listing is slightly misleading.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The location was amazing and quiet, the inside was tidy and clean, and it was right outside of Brookings next to all the awesome beach access. There were not photos of the outside on the listing and it seems to be due to that fact that is was quite dirty outside. The listing boasted a private patio with hot tub and grill which seemed very exciting and it was actually part of the reason we booked, but once we got there the grill was filthy and rusted inside, and the hot tub only got up to about 100 degrees which is more like a warm bath, it was also so chlorinated that it was burning our eyes while we sat in it. The two metal chairs on the deck were completely rusted and really should be tossed out in that condition. We had lots of gnat like flies inside at night and the sky light windows in the kitchen and bathroom were filled with bugs and spider webs. The tv in the bedroom also did not work at all. We are not hard to please, and we understand that a deep woods coastal cabin will have some wear and tear on the outside. That being said, other guests might be quite unhappy with some of the things we experienced. So, all in all it was a little overpriced for what we showed up to find but it is still a cozy (clean on the inside) and beautiful place to stay, and the location is great.

Great Stay

We had a wonderful time, a bit hard to find the place as we unfortunately arrived after sundown and there are no lights around. Also no physical maps on the property. Once we located the unit the stay was wonderful! The pictures were very accurate to the location. Very peaceful and so close to many amazing trails! We would gladly stay again!

Cozy, no frills coast getaway

My partner and I stayed here two nights for a quick anniversary trip and meet up with friends staying nearby. This place provided the essentials we needed. After reading other reviews, I was hopeful that some of the downsides others called out would have been addressed. That wasn’t the case. We never used the hot tub because the bleach smell was as bad as others have said. (Too bad, too because the spot does feel secluded.) The two rusty metal chairs are still - hilariously - there. Whatever you’re imagining, they’re worse in a way that we found hilarious

Wonderful Time in Brookings

We stayed at the Whaleshead Resort through Vacasa on our trip to Brookings, Oregon, and it was great! The White Narwhal provided a perfect home base for us to relax in between our adventures.
