The quintessential New Hampshire experience awaits at this atmospheric home on the edge of White Mountain National Forest. With winter snowmobile trails and a summer swimming hole on the Ammonoosuc River just up the road, this is a place for taking in the quiet beauty of the great outdoors.
This three-story home enjoys a serene woodland setting, which requires all wheel drive in winter and plenty of parking for trailers carrying your snowmobiles and ATVs. It's an epicenter for skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing in the colder months, as well as hiking, fishing, and swimming come summer. So much is within easy day-tripping distance, including Bretton Woods Ski Area (seven miles), Santa's Village (seven miles), Mt. Washington Resort and Spa (eight miles), the Mt. Washington Cog Railway (13 miles), and Littleton's restaurants, breweries, and theater scene (20 miles).
After a day out and about at Story Land (32 miles), come home to unwind on the covered front porch and watch your kids play in the enormous yard. Take in the view of the surrounding mountains and forest, and cozy up by the firepit to roast marshmallows once the sun goes down.
The interior is full of rustic ambience, from the animal mounts on the walls to the wood-burning fireplace with a floor-to-ceiling stone hearth. Enjoy an open-concept living space where you can prepare and enjoy meals, gather for board games, and watch after-dinner movies on the smart TV. In the evenings, curl up by the fireplace or free standing wood stove, take a soothing soak in the jetted bathtub on the first floor, or simply retreat to the large bedrooms for a restful night's sleep.
